The apartment was clean, comfortable and everything was provided. Perfect location for viewing and accessing the beach, walks and cafes. The only downside is the noise (traffic, cafes, pub) due to the central location of the unit, otherwise it’s ideal.
Very dissappointed - not at all acceptable!
Well from the moment we arrived things started to go wrong. Firstly the car park provided was so small that passengers had to alight before I parked. Then we had trouble getting anything out of the vehicle, so I had to back out so we could manage. Not so helpful in the rain. While I'm used to "self-check ins" it doesn't help when the keypad is temperamental. So eventually got in & upon inspection immediately became aware that we'd not made a good choice. Bare floor (concrete or lino?) kitchen that was an afterthought, it went around a corner & became a shared pantry/laundry, with no clothes dryer however. Again not so helpful when travelling. Being right above a fish & chip shop didn't smell so good, nor was the deep frying oil in the walkway very attractive. But worse still was being opposite the pub where a band (who obviously wanted to be heard at some distance) played away for all to enjoy, whether they liked it or not. Now I understand everyone wants their place to be let & that there is no onus on the landlord to inform prospective tenants of any negatives, but the alternative is unhappy people who will never return. That's not to say the area was unpleasant, but when there are fights going on in the street below after pub closing time, that are so bad that police had to attend & indeed take some away... well not what we expected. The yelling, foul language & fighting continued late into the night/morning until eventually they simply got in their cars, did some burn outs & drove away. So for prospective tenants my review is to advise against this one. We stayed in six different locations over two weeks in Tassie & this was by far the worst!
Perfect for our Christmas stay, everything we needed, great communication from mark and wonderful location
Best position and lovely apartment. This place has it all.
This apartment has everything you need plus the best view in Kingston Beach. Close to cafes and restaurants and across from the beach. You’ll love it.
always a pleasure to stay here when catching up with family. Nice to be close to the beach and everything you need is downstairs, including incredible cocktails.
We had a great stay at Rivermouth. It's location met all our holiday needs. There was access to nearby major shopping centres, proximity to Hobart and the Huonville district, downstairs eateries (a restaurant, a wine bar, a cafe and a fish-and-chip shop) with a small tavern over the road, walking trails along the foreshore and the headland, flat level walks around the neighbourhood streets and park beside the river. Plus there were the distractions of watching passing boats, ships, kayakers, swimmers (in wet suits) and people enjoying the beach.
Great views across the Derwent estuary were a bonus on rainy days when we enjoyed the opportunity Netflix provided to catch up on some unviewed episodes of TV series we liked. Rivermouth's Wi-Fi meant we could be contacted via e-mail, conduct banking transactions and check out local tourist attractions before we made decisions on where to go on some days. We were surprised at how quickly we arrived at Richmond, in the Coal River Valley, when we drove there on a whim one day.
We live in an apartment block and it took just a day before we settled in and felt thoroughly at home in Rivermouth.
