The Rooms Upstairs are very unique and charming accommodations in the heart of Sedona, Arizona, for nightly or weekly stays. We offer a motel like experience with 2 rooms situated in a building that is an Architect Business downstairs. The rooms are reserved separately. The property is one of only two private hotel-style rooms over an award winning building acclaimed for its architectural style. After a day of sightseeing, step out on the private terrace to relax and take in the breathtaking views that Sedona is world famous for.

Step out the door and walk to fantastic hiking such as the famous Brins Mesa, Jordan Park or Cibola Trails. Check out the local eateries just steps from your door, or prepare your meals in the room with a view and never have to leave it.

Why Monty and Penny Wilson chose Arizona

Our 2 Rooms are situated 1 block from Hwy 89a in Uptown (which is downtown) Sedona. 1 block (walking distance) from restaurants, shops, and tours. We have been open for 16 years and are established in the town. We are also on a quiet street so you can have privacy and rest.

What makes this hotel unique

We offer a shared patio with Wow Views of the Red Rocks of Sedona.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Loved our adventure at "The Rooms Upstairs" in Sedona. Prime location with easy access to Uptown and location provides for an easy 3-4 mile walk to Tlaquepaque. We had a great time. We were there during a reported "snow storm" which was a nonevent. Our views from Room 4 were amazing. We were able to watch the few snow flurries and see the red rock mountains in the background. Owners were very accommodating and responsive when we had issues accessing the wifi (our issue not theirs)!! Still chuckling about that. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Relaxing stay in Sedona

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely 2-night stay in Sedona in number 3 at The Rooms Upstairs. The location is very close to Uptown and we could walk to many shops and restaurants. The weather was almost perfect during our stay, cool mornings but not too cool to sit out on the upper patio and drink our coffee. The views were gorgeous--quintessentially Sedona. We enjoyed the comfortable bed and spacious warm shower. I would recommend this property to others who want to vacation in Sedona.

What's Not To Like?

Room #3 is a pretty large room with all the amenities anyone could ask for. After all, you are in Sedona to enjoy the outdoors. You can, of course, sit back and relax on the very large covered patio and enjoy the breeze and red rock views. The room itself has a very large, comfy bed and lots of tv options. They said the bed was a queen, but I found it about the same size as my king at home. There is also a window seat/bed/reading nook. There is a kitchenette with microwave, toaster and a mini fridge and a little bistro table to enjoy a snack with a beautiful red rock view. The walk in shower is huge and nicely appointed with Mexican tile accents. The bathroom itself was roomy and had a very efficient ceiling heater. Additionally, room #3 is in an awesome location. You can easily walk to all the uptown stores. We also walked to the Tlaquepaque, around Los Abrigados, and to our favorite dinner spot. Very centrally located and an easy drive to pretty much all the hiking spots. I'm glad we found this place. We had a wonderful stay.

Hint to people that aren't familiar with Sedona- uptown is touristy and pricey and the food is very average. If it's your first trip, definitely go for a jeep tour. It's really fun. The Tlaquepaque has a few good food options. We tried a new burger spot called Dellepiane at The Hillside Shops this time. It was a great burger with yummy sweet potato fries. Indian Gardens is great for lunch. Cucina Rustica in The Village is also beautiful and has great Italian food. The best food is by far, hands down, The Elote Cafe. The are only open for dinner and be prepared to wait. It's totally worth it. It is the best food I've ever had. EVER. PERIOD. END OF STORY. We walked to The Elote from Room #3 but we are very familiar with Sedona. It was about 1 1/2 miles from the room. Enjoy your stay!

I really enjoyed my stay. The owners were wonderful. My only wish was that the room had had a comfortable chair for reading or watching tv.
