Dissappointing to say the least
A lot cheaper now than when we booked, and frankly after staying here it is obvious why. We can do quirky, that is nice, but this place is far from as advertised. On arrival you are greeted with a message stating that the property is still in the throes of renovations and your stay will help fund this. The bathroom floods, fills with ants and the second level rear door and only other exit from the property is double bolted and leads into an overgrown garden with a padlocked gate. Not to mention the low window that the shower curtain might stop you falling out of if you slip in the bath. I doubt Tasmania's building and rental codes, even for historic buildings, is that different to that of the rest of Australia. This place is just doesn't even come close to complying with anything other than being a liability. We had two stays booked here and during the first decided it just wasn't for us. On contacting Luigi he appeared to be understanding of our thoughts towards the property and agreed to refund us for our second stay that was booked for the following week. Needless to say, although this was in writing, the refund has not been forthcoming. Do not be fooled by the advertisement, this property does not even come close to it.
within walking distance to town which is great, nice old place, a 3 storey building so lots of stairs, awesome communication for late notice booking.
The Location, the general character of the house and the efficiency of Luigi is great. But the bathroom could do with a drain to save on the mops even after showering with curtains fully drawn! A few Tea towels, a coffee plunger and another lounge would not go astray, especially as so much has been spent on the large TV. Also a couple of good fans when it is hot would be helpful and double glazing the windows in the main bedroom to alleviate the constant traffic noise [as it is on a main road] when it is hot would make it more comfortable at night. Although it is not a negative, be aware that if you need to go to the loo during the night you will need to go down and up a flight of stairs. I realise the home is a work in progress but in time hopefully the garden out the back will be cleared and developed so the space can be enjoyed and more easily accessed from the back where you can park your car if needed.
