Guestbook comments from the owner

When we entered the house, we couldn't believe how lovely it was- more than we anticipated. You have a living art gallery right out your windows, which is always changing and always breathtaking. We enjoyed our stay immensely, even my teenage sons. We wish we had more time to relax and explore the area.

Highly recommend!

  • 5 of 5

While in the area for unpleasant business the rental made it much more bearable. My family and I needed a place for three weeks and this was perfect for us. We spent quality time together in the evenings cooking and eating together. The home was just as pictured and the owners were so accommodating to our needs. I highly recommend this home and would return for a vacation if the opportunity should present itself. Thanks so much Becca!

Just as comfortable as home, had everything we needed plus an AMAZING view!!!

  • 5 of 5

To start off, the arrival info from Becca was informative & made us even more excited to start our vacation! The house was very cozy & had all the comforts of home. We prepared fresh lobsters one evening & a shrimp boil another & the kitchen had everything we needed! The views & sunrises were breathtaking & we enjoyed watching the lobster fishermen collect their traps in the morning! The telescope was fun to have & brought hours of enjoyment. We had beautiful weather while staying but would suggest bringing games or DVD's for rainy days. Many thanks to Becca for sharing her amazing home with us!!!

Favorite family vacation!!!

  • 5 of 5

We loved this house and did not want to leave. We've rented several VRBO houses, but this was most definitely our favorite. The views are amazing from all the windows. Watching the changing tides and wildlife was relaxing and no one wanted to turn the tv on. The highlight of the house for our four children ages 14, 12, 8 and almost 2 was spending hours at the home's private beach throwing rocks, reading, watching the lobster boats, exploring and finding treasures each day. We could not believe how beautiful and private the beach area was...we will treasure the memories we made hanging out as a family with that incredible view all to ourselves.

The house was clean and comfortable. The yard has a beautiful long driveway and grassy play area and it is quiet and private. However, the area has tons of fun adventures. Our favorites were Campobello, Saint Andrews, Ministers Island, Jasper Beach, Cutler Bold Coast hike, Acadia, Eastport, the many lighthouses, Roque Bluff blueberry farm, a sea salt farm, and enjoying Machias activities.

The owners are great to work with and very nice people. This was by far our favorite family vacation and we loved this house!

Great vacation home

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our five day stay here very much. We primarily went to this area of Maine for it's proximity to Cutler for the Bold Coast Charter trip out to Machias Seal Island to view and visit the Puffins. The boat leaves between 7:00-8:00 in the morning, so wanted a place close by. This fit the bill. It was a very nice house with a fabulous view of the bay. The only negative about the house was there was no bathroom downstairs for the two bedrooms. There were five ladies staying here and none of us picked that up in the description of the house (we thought it was just two levels). It didn't bother me, but it was an issue for two who did not want to climb stairs at night to go the bathroom. (Two bedrooms are on the lower level, then there is the main ground level with the kitchen, laundry room, dining, living room, bathroom, mudroom, and then the upstairs master bedroom with the 2nd bathroom.) The view from any of the main floor windows are fabulous. The grounds are well kept and the cleaning crew had just left before we arrived. Becca, the owner, was prompt with communication and was friendly. I would definitely recommend the house if you can do without a bathroom on the lower level with the bedrooms. It was so quiet and peaceful with a gorgeous view!

Berrien Springs, Michigan

Jackson 5 trip to Maine

  • 5 of 5

Perfect place for our family of 5. We traveled from Michigan by way of Boston, and this house was the perfect follow-up after a busy time in Boston.

I had my coffee early and watched the lobster fishermen pulling pots right in front of the house. Machias was easy driving distance to many attractions, and we visited Eastport, Lubec, and Camobello Island in New Brunswick.

We bought lobsters from Nadine at Mother Shuckers in town and made them in the very well appointed kitchen.

The house had everything we needed. We would highly recommend it. Thanks for sharing it with the Jackson 5.
