This is a great house located on Lake Michigan located on the northern edge of Algoma.
Make yourself at home in this beautiful and spacious house with 120 ft. of Lake Michigan frontage! Everything you need to slow down, relax and enjoy Door County-'The Cape Cod of the Midwest'.
The kitchen is stocked with all of the comforts of home. A coffee pot, microwave, convection oven, dishwasher, toaster, blender, etc. There is a charcoal grill too. Or if you would rather not cook, enjoy the wonderful array of menu choices in Door County. Don't miss the Door County Cherry pie.
So much to do!: There is so much to see and do. As you tour the countryside stop and visit the galleries; hike or bike the State and County parks; visit the lighthouses or dive a shipwreck or go fishing. Stop at one of the farm stands or pick your own at an orchard. Take a ferry ride to the past in Washington Island. Visit the wineries, the oldest one in Wisconsin is just a short walk away.
Or just relax!: After a full day you can lay in the hammock and watch the birds, boat and lighthouse. Don't worry, if you would rather go inside and watch the flat panel TV, you don't have to miss out. The back of the house is a wall of windows.
When the sun goes down and the crickets chirp, the night sky comes to life. You can see the milky way full of stars and the moon rising on the lake. Feel free to use the telescope and make some special memories as you wish on the shooting stars.
Salmon capital of the midwest!: If you love to fish, you have got to fish Algoma. Plenty of charters or just fish from the pier. Have a boat, the public launch is just 2 blocks away
House was wonderful with amazing views. Loved lounging in the back yard listening to gulls and birds and seeing the light house. Slept like babies. Ate at Stadium Diner and Reds. Stadium was the best. Will definitely stay there again. Loved the annual car show.
This was our third stay at the house since 2011, and my husband's family has been coming to Algoma since the mid-70's. The house is in a perfect location within walking distance of the bakery and downtown Algoma, and with a wonderful view of the lake and Algoma's red lighthouse. Everything was as described, and we especially appreciate the well-stocked kitchen and firewood. We went fishing with Fishin' Magician charters out of Algoma, and ate at Red's (towards Kewaunee), Cafe Tlazo, and Skalliwag's - all wonderful! We enjoyed the grill and fresh fruit and veggies form Weinke's market just up County S. We'll be back.
We arrived late at night and were blown away by how spacious the place was. We went to sleep shortly after arriving and woke up to an even better surprise, how amazing the views were. Every thing we needed from linens, kitchen utensils, firewood, and charcoal were already provided. The backyard was spacious with remarkable lakefront views, chairs to sit on, and a really cool fire pit.
We had great communication with the hosts from the start of the process. Checkin and checkout were quite easy, and getting their from Chicago was very shorted than expected. We would highly recommend Door County, Algoma, and especially this place.
We really had no complaints whatsoever about the place and would love to return.
We were very happy with this vacation home. The first thing we noticed upon entering is the gorgeous lake view! There were three spacious bedrooms, large living area, large bathroom,
and a kitchen with everything we needed. The amount of room was just great for six adults. We enjoyed grilling and using the fire circle in the evening too. The home is very well maintained, and Audalee was available by phone in case we had questions. However, everything was ready and in good working order so we didn't need to call. I liked the quiet setting, yet close to many activities in Door County. We used a nearby bike trail and also drove north to state and county parks. Thank you for sharing your home Audalee and Bob!
We stayed three nights. The home is beautiful and has everything you need. The views are amazing.
This home was spacious with an awesome view out the back!! Huge windows let the view in. Everything was just as described and Audalee helped make everything go smoothly. The house was neat and clean. We had a small issue with a fuse/breaker and Audalee was gracious with a credit for our inconvenience. I would definitely recommend if you are visiting this area that you stay here. Should we every travel back, we will check on availability. Thanks for a great vacation stay!
