Comfy, practical and tucked away from the traffic, this little beach house is just ONE house from the beach in the peaceful village of Mylestom. No need to pack the car and drive to the beach - it's just over the sand dune - long, clean, unspoilt and patrolled in summer! And it's a flat stroll in the other direction to the Bellinger River and the picnic tables. The river is tidal as Mylestom is just 4 kms from the mouth at Urunga, and it is ideal for boating. The sunsets are beautiful from any of the picnic tables on the river bank.
Cottage has two bedrooms - a queen bed in one and a double bed in the other. The bathroom has a full size bath with overhead shower and a toilet. There is an extra toilet by the back door adjoining the deck.
There is a semi-enclosed porch at the front of the cottage that leads into the north facing sun room, with views across road to the pretty tree-fillled reserve. A single bed and two lounge chairs are in the sun room. The lounge room contains a sofa-bed that may be used as an extra bed.
The cottage is in a quiet cul-de-sac one house between you and a choice of tracks to the beach. The beach is long and clean, great for walking - 4 kms south to the river mouth at Urunga, and less than 2 kms north to Bongil Bongil National Park and the start of the Bundageree rainforest walk. The beach is patrolled from 9 til 4 during school holidays. There is also an enclosed river pool and playground opposite the general store cafe, less than 5 minutes walk away.
The cottage is less than 10 minutes walking distance to North Beach Bowling Club where there is a fantastic pizza outlet and a licensed Chinese Restaurant. There is a skate park, boat ramp and tennis courts but the club. The local shop, also the post office and cafe, does great takeaways up until 430pm.
The cottage is well setup for holidays and relaxing: there is a stereo with i-pod dock, books, board games, a DVD player, DVDs and television in the lounge room. Bedrooms have reading lamps and ceiling fans.
Kitchen appliances include electric wok, blender, food processor, juicer, microwave, barbeque in addition to complete sets of crockery, cutlery, and cookware.
The house windows and doors are all screened. Recent improvements include new windows in the sunroom, a deck on the front and an extension to the rear deck + a trellis privacy screen by the fence off the back deck.
There is under cover parking (under the house) for one vehicle plus a boat, and off street parking for other vehicles. Also plenty of safe storage area for bikes and surf gear.
Pets are NOT allowed inside the house. There are enclosed areas underneath the house by the laundry where they will not be disturbed. If you would like to bring a pet this MUST be discussed with the owner prior to booking.
There is a separate studio with rear lane access behind the house that is sometimes occupied by the owner. Guest's privacy is respected whenever owner is resident.
Mylestom is only a 20 minute drive to Bellingen or Coffs Harbour. Local supermarkets are in Urunga (10 minutes drive) and Toormina or Boambee, and a local butcher in Repton (5 minutes drive).
A trip up to the Dorrigo World Heritage listed rainforest and Information Centre is a beautiful drive of only 30 kms from Bellingen, up the valley. Don't missit!.
For holiday makers without a car, transfers from the Coffs airport (serviced by Qantas, Virgin and Tiger) or from Urunga railway station can be arranged. Mylestom has a bus service to Bellingen, Urunga and Coffs Harbour. but it's great to just stay in the village and relax too.
Return bookings will be discounted by 10% if the house left clean.

About Jill Connellan
I lived nearby in Repton and worked at Macksville hospital as a pharmacist for over 15 years. I recently retired and I love living in Mylestom. I live in the studio behind the house but I tend to be away a lot. If I am there I use the rear lane access. If you bring your own linen I will refund the fee paid for linen in cash or via bank transfer.

Why Jill Connellan chose Mylestom
This property is terrific value for money. The feedback from guests is that the house has a warm welcome feel to it. It does! It is not prestigious, there is no dishwasher, but it is super nice and comfortable. The neighbours are friendly and the street is exceptionally quiet, being a cul-de-sac with no houses opposite. The sound of the waves is beautiful at night.

Quiet property & walk to beach
We enjoyed our stay at Bello Beach House. Mylestom is a relaxed and peaceful location and close to other lovely areas to explore. The house was comfortable and clean with all that was needed for a lovely 3 night stay. Access to the beach is virtually at the front door with a choice of 2 tracks, one up and over the dune and the other a gentle laneway stroll. Our walk along the beach to Tuckers Rocks in the late afternoon of our final day's stay was so beautiful with the colours of the setting sun reflected on the sand and ocean. Thank you Jill for welcoming us to your home.
I found the place to be very warm in nature. very well looked after. and the owner was very hospitable and good contact.
Absolutely fabulous location - river and bank at the end of the street and beach just up behind house. So quiet except for the caressing sound of the waves breaking in the background. The house was fantastic - everything I could have wanted and more - clean and comfortable, with every convenience and delightful little back garden and deck.
So glad you chose to stay in Mylestom rather than closer to Bellingen. Thanks for sharing what a great place it is too, Jill
Location is amazing. Great locals, 10km beach, stunning river with mountain views, lovely river pool, local cafe, great club with nice Chinese food, safe to cycle everywhere.
House is a nice size for a family of 4. Could use some TLC but fine for a beach house. We suffered in January heat with only noisy ceiling fans to offer any relief. Other times may be fine.
Yes you had some really hot weather! Have got a couple of mobile fans now + there are some wonderful renovations underway extending the rear deck and adding a deck on the front + a privacy screen on the eastern side of house. Good to see you made the most of the location with your bikes, boat and boogie boards.
My partner, Kevin and I, and our Westie, Tilly, thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Bello House. We were needing a dog friendly accommodation to ensure we could relax and enjoy & the Bello House has some areas external to the main living areas that were ideal. Tilly slept in a nook on the back porch where she could see/smell us through the screen door. After a little bit of a sook on the first night, she settled as she became familiar and at ease in the back garden area and under-croft. There is also a table and chairs on the back porch where we spent a fair bit of time reading and having cups of tea with Tilly contently stretched out in the sun. Having the beach and river so close by, was wonderful for frequent swims/walks down the beach and paddling the kayak in the Bellinger. Coffee at the local general store was consistently great and with friendly service. The house itself was clean, provided lots of living space and was equipped with everything we needed. What more could you ask for? Can't wait to go back again. Amanda.
Clean comfortable , perfect location, would certainly stay here again
The beach is ideal for quiet walks and surfing. The river is great for boating and fishing. The surrounding rural roads are perfect for cycling.
