The Penthouse is the largest unit in the complex and located on the 7th floor. The Whaler is a low density condo with only 27 units so there is no long wait for the elevator. We have a deep large beach area so you do not feel crowed while on the beach. Our pool is outside with a depth of 3ft. to 8 ft.
We have a great location, only three red lights from the intersection of Highway 59 and Beach Blvd. the center of Gulf Shores. The Whaler is within walking distance to the Gulf State Park Beach and fishing pier which is located to the east along the beach. If you walk west along the beach you can reach the entertainment, restaurants and shopping area. No need to use a car. A water park, carpet golf and zoo is a short drive North on Hy.59 . A major outlet type shopping mall is a few miles North.

We loved our stay.
We had a total of 8 adults and 4 children ( children were small ) , but it was very comfortable. The size of the condo surprised me. We would defenitly use this condo owner again. The condo itself was clean, everything worked, and is nicely located right on the beach. I would recommend this condo to anyone.
Spent our Spring Break here!
Only minutes from everything but far enough for a quiet stay!
Great Owner and building maintenance. Elevator went down 1 time for maybe 20 mins so no major issue. The building guy Mike was great and always making sure our time there was going good and he made sure we knew all the ins and outs of the buildings amenities. No condo issues so did not have to call owner during our trip but spoke to him a few times before and he is good people and very responsive.
We will definitely be back!
Great condo, loved it! Great views from the balcony,
Had a great time while we were there, but had to leave early because of hurricane Nate.
Mostly perfect! A few issues with lights & electric outlets.
My electrical service repairman was dispatched and repairs were made. We are ready for our next guest.
Vacation stay at the Whaler
Girls week at the Whaler in August. The place was spacious enough for 5 women to be very comfortable. We stayed in one of the Penthouse. The view was great. The pool was very refreshing to cool off from very hot days. Mr. White was making sure our stay was what we had expected. I will go back.
Great apartment, terrible building
The unit was great, owner was wonderful to work with. The elevator was not working while we were there and the association I called to repair couldn't give me any help. The day I checked out it was not working at all so I had to carry my things down 8 flights and then back up four times. I am 69 years old and not in the best of health. I finally threw away all the food and other miscellaneous things because I could not carry them down.
The most well-known beach resort, Gulf Shores, boasts miles of sandy beaches, perfect for sunning, swimming, fishing, parasailing, bird watching or beachcombing. Guests at the Whaler Penthouse can also enjoy a myriad of shops and restaurants to please every taste within walking distance. Walk out of the Whaler to the water edge and turn left (East) and enjoy 2.5 miles of white sand beach, plus a State Park fishing pier. Turn right (west) and walk three blocks to the shopping, restaurants and entertainment area. Local golf courses are both scenic and challenging. Top-notch courses include Cotton Creek, Gulf Shores Golf Club and Kiva Dunes are within a short drive.
History buffs will find plenty to enjoy. Visit Antebellum houses such as the Bragg-Mitchell Mansion in Mobile, explore Civil War battlefield or tour historic Fort Morgan, which was completed in 1834 and saw service in four war.
