Hi Susan and Lydia,
Tammy and I very much enjoyed our stay at Seekers with its
awesome setting right on that amazing beach.
We walked along the beach each morning finding star fish, crabs,
turtles, needle fish, bone fish and lots of shells.
The outdoor shower provided a fun place to wash off salt and sand,
and the kayaks gave us access to explore further out on the
crystal clear ocean water.
As the sun moved across the sky, the colors changed dramatically on
the ocean surface.
We saw some wonderful sunsets.
We thank you very much for letting us enjoy your beautiful property,
which truly is a Seekers Delight!
All the Best!

As our temp is now in the single digits, I'm definitely thinking very fondly of our January week in Spanish Wells. We chose our destination based on finding this house on Home Away and having a lovely conversation with one of the owners, Susan. It was just like in the pictures - spacious, clean, and comfortable. The kind of place you wouldn't mind being stuck in the storm hit. Which was a good thing because an expected storm did hit, and the 40+ mph and driving rain kept us inside for 36 hours. During that time, Susan's sister Lydia (who lives close by on the neighboring Russell Island) consistently checked on us, making sure we were OK. Being from the mid-Atlantic, we are used to this kind of weather, and were just happy to be somewhere else other than home during it. Plus, the sisters have thought of everything to stock the house with, and there were plenty of games, DVDs, books, and other activities to keep us occupied.
On the calm weather days, it was glorious to have house directly on the water. We took sunrise and sunset walks daily, combed the beach for shells, and waded out into the water. My husband took one of the kayaks to the island directly across the water, and enjoyed exploring it a bit. The January water was just a bit too chilly for us, but I think an avid beachgoer would have just dived right in. We saw starfish, dolphins, and pelicans. Just beautiful.
Spanish Wells itself is an interesting island. It took a bit to get there, but we did it with a 15-month-old, and it worked out just fine. We flew into Nassau, and then took a propeller plane to North Eleuthera. From there, Calvin's taxi service picked us up and Ivana, and took us by water ferry to Spanish Wells. Lydia met us on the dock with our rented golf cart.
We spent most of our days exploring the island, just tooling around in our golf cart, eating at some of the restaurants (Shipyard, Sandbar, and our favorite, Anchor Snack Bar) and checking out the local stores. Like most islands, the prices for food and goods were pretty expensive. We were very impressed with the quality of the baked goods that arrive at the grocery store by local women in the morning on a daily basis.
The highlight of our trip was taking a chartered fishing boat out. Capt. Ryan Neilly took us on an easy, four hour, shallow bottom fishing trip. The fishing was phenomenal and we caught a large selection of snappers, grunts, porgys, etc. The pricing was also very good, especially compared with what we
Our family just returned from a week’s stay at Seekers Delight. We had a great vacation. Lydia went above and beyond of what we could have expected. She was there waiting for us until nearly midnight on a rainy Saturday night after our flight delay. We had no idea what to expect upon arrival since we were to be there at 4:30 in the afternoon. Pinder’s Taxi and Lydia were a welcoming sight. The house was very comfortable and clean, with a gorgeous view of the water. We really enjoyed using the kayaks. Also, did a great deal of exploring with a boat from Harborside Rentals. The only thing I would change is staying another couple of weeks. Thank you Susan and Lydia for sharing your home with us!
Michael and I once again loves our stay at Seekers Delight. The fact that we can now pop over to Momma's coffee shop and cafe for great coffee and tea drinks, sandwiches, pizza and ice cream makes it even better. The house was immaculate as always and the beach was perfect. Can's wait to come again...hope to be back in February or March!!!!
My wife and I spent an incredible week at Seeker's Delight enjoying utter peace and tranquility. The home is super clean and comfortable, with all the amenities you will need. Steps from the nicest beach on the island, in fact one of the nicest beaches we have ever seen, and we have travelled extensively throughout Mexico and the Caribbean. There were days when for hours at a time we were the only ones on the beach! Fantastic shelling, swimming, wading, raft floating, beach walking, even bonefishing right at your doorstep. The island is quaint, clean, friendly and very safe. Great for bicycling and jogging. The supermarket, bakery, Papa's ice cream drive through, are all nearby. We loved the conch salad, conch chowder, conch fritters, grouper fritters, and fresh fried amberjack. We can't wait to go back as soon and as often as possible!
Everything about Seekers Delight was Perfect!!!! It sits on the most beautiful part of the beach on the island. The cottage is extremely clean and very well equipped and maintained. The owners were most accommodating, supplying us with interesting facts about the island and it's locals. We greatly enjoyed dinner at Steve's on Saturday night and the Super Bowl Party on the beach. Big screen TVs, tons of wonderful food and great, friendly people on the beach was awesome!!!!! Thank you, Susan and Lydia, for making our stay at your house a very special one!!! Seekers Delight was Fantastic!!!!
4 Adults stayed May 10-17, 2012 and were in awe of the tranquil and private setting. We loved riding around in the golf cart, meeting the locals and learning about the life of the island. Everyone was friendly. The home was very clean and had everything we would need.
Susan (home owner) was always a phone call away and had everything arranged as planned. I was a little hesitant sending money order but as you see all went well. It took 2 wks for her to receive but call /email to let me know she had gotten it. Everything about the home is as you see on photos. We would rent again and are talking of doing it next year and would def. rent from Susan.
The Food Fair had most everything you need. Bread arrives on Thursday but don't worry local baked goods wonderful. If you run out of alcohol just make sure you have number for "Night Rider" and it will be delivered after 6:00 to you at dock. Fresh fish, conch and frozen lobster(season ends April 30) was wonderful. If you want other seafood you may need to travel elsewhere.
The beach is just as you see on photo. No waves due to reefs and being on bay side. Water is clear and shallow. The American renters we met stay for weeks or months at a time and Love It!
