The perfect home base for your work or vacation awaits. This cozy apartment is walking distance from San Francisco's financial district and just one block from North Beach's famous restaurants.
We put our place together with all the things we look for when we need to get work done or want to get away for a weekend in the city: Great neighborhood, walking distance to everything, insanely fast Internet.
Restful Retreat: If it's R&R you're after, you'll appreciate the amazing custom kitchen, equipped by a Cordon-Blue trained chef, the comfy couch, and the big screen TV with Netflix.
If you insist on leaving the great indoors, try a drink on the roof deck at sunset to start with. If you get hungry, North Beach is just half a block. And if you insist on going into work, the financial district is a nice 10 minute walk. A pair of bikes is also available for your use, but please remember that they are shared with the guests in the unit downstairs.
A Green Place To Stay: We made it greener. Most lights are low power LEDs, the appliances are all energy-star rated, and the hot water heater is a high efficiency, continuous flow heater that combines energy efficiency with a literally unlimited capacity. The only limit on your time in the shower will be your conscience.
This apartment shares a washer/dryer and roof deck access with the unit above. We also have a single garage space that's shared between the two units, which you can reserve with prior notice and a small additional nightly fee. Please note that the garage will only fit compact cars and requires comfort with snug spaces and city driving.
After many years of renting other people's places on vacation, we decided we'd like to do this ourselves. We're professionals (lawyer and business consultant) living in Silicon Valley with two kids. We love San Francisco, and we don't always have time to go there for the weekends, so we can share this place with our friends and family.

Telegraph Hill and Northbeach are amazing neighborhoods, full of great food, in a great location for work for taking a vacation.
We've hung out here many times on our weekends and when the opportunity came to buy a place here, we jumped on it.
Very nice unit. Met all expectations and was as presented on the website. Kitchen was very adequate with all new appliances. Unit was clean, well maintained and up to date. Bathroom a bit tight, but updated, and has a good shower. Linens were fresh.
Customer service was excellent. Very good "User Manual" with complete instructions and guidance.
Very comfortable with property security and neighborhood. Not noisy even though in an active, lively part of the city.
Short walk to all sorts of restaurants and bars. Very convenient, available transportation. Would definitely refer friends to this property and location.
We did a lot of research into the various location options before choosing 54 sonoma street. I grew up in SF so know the city and while I didn't know this exact location I knew the neighbourhood. It was the first time for my wife and she was pleasantly pleased at the unit being "cute" . By the time we left the unit 4 weeks later she loved the place and most of all, my choice. :-)
We like to walk and we could walk to Fishermmans wharf, Embarcadero, and Chinatown. Coit tower loomed above us and on many of the beautiful nights we would grab a bottle of wine, a pizza from the best Pizza you will have (only three minutes walk), Tony's, and sit up on the deck just reviewing the day's activities, the partial view of the Golden Gate Bridge, Transamerica building and the lights of Nob Hill.
Live music probably 300 yds away on Grant street, great sports bars, a super and historical coffee place Caffe Trieste(sp). Great breakfast and hamburger place around the corner. At Mo's. Really nice Italian dinners everywhere (try Sorto Mare) , a great oyster bar called Ferry Plaza Seafood.
We walked maybe 10 minutes to Mason street to catch the cable car over Nob Hill to union Square or Market at to catch Bart or other muni lines. You don't need a car, just buy a Clipper pass for one month and you can go everywhere in the city limits. It was so easy and so much fun using the cable car as our normal method of transport . When in doubt you can Uber anywhere .
Faults? Well, to be honest there is a TV system that looks very cool but no operating instructions. I asked 3 times and. Never did get any help which was disappointing. I was told there was a manual but there wasn't and I couldn't print the one emailed me.
I only wanted to watch a few football/gridiron games but worked out Pandora so at least had some music.
Also the bathroom is VERY small so if you are a "big " person you will be uncomfortable.
I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to spend some time in SF. It's right in the best part of town in my opinion.
I stayed here with a colleague for 1 month. The neighborhood and location is amazing. If you like restaurants, bars, action, and high energy from a neighborhood than this is it! The bedroom/bed was lovely and large. The bathroom is really small but has everything you need. This place is perfect for a couple but no more than 2 people. The kitchen is very modern and nice. The garage is made for a small car. Unfortunately we could not get into our property with the code that we were given. This caused a lot of stress on the night we arrived. We could not reach anyone to get access to the property. Our neighbors upstairs also didn't get access with their code on the day they moved in. This seems to be a recurring problem with this property. I would strongly recommend calling Paul's E.A. before arrival to ensure your code is going to work on the doors. Paul and his mom were very pleasant in answering questions and being helpful after we moved in. Overall this is a great place to stay and I would stay again.
We stayed a month at this North Beach flat and had a wonderful visit in San Francisco. Almost everything was within walking distance: great restaurants, China town. Downtown, Fishermans Wharf, the Embarcadero. The local buses were close by for other attractions like the Golden Gate Bridge.
As for the apartment itself, everything was just as advertised. The kitchen was well equipped, laundry machines worked well, nice linens on the comfy king bed. We also enjoyed the rooftop deck. Perfectly comfortable!
I couldn't recommend this property. The facilities were adequate although the dish washer was out of order & there was no attempt to repair it. It was the fact that we couldn't get into the apartment that bothered us.
We had come from Scotland via New York & were due to land about lunch time. We repeatedly tried to contact the local agents to ask if we could get in before the allotted time but could never get a reply either to emails or phone. When we arrived at the property the entry code we had been given did not work &, again, we could not get a reply from the agents. We enquired at a nearby shop only to be told that we weren't the first ones to be locked out. We went away, with all our cases, for lunch & to charge our mobiles but when we returned in late afternoon the code still didn't work. We had no option but to get a taxi to a local hotel (the first two were full) & book in for the night. We eventually got the owner's phone number & were told that the entry code had been changed that morning. This was not much good to us!
Anyway we got entry the next morning but a good chunk of our short stay had been ruined.
We made a claim for the refund of our costs but have received nothing.
