This area is so clean and pure and offers such great scenery, that we chose to buy a cabin to enjoy! If you like quiet...you can get pure solitude in this area and yet find nightlife nearby - in Deadwood, Spearfish or Sturgis (seasonal.)
In the winter months, snowmobiling, skiing, tubing and snowboarding are all available at reasonable rates. In the summer, we enjoy sightseeing at Mt Rushmore, Custer State Park, Hillside, Spearfish Canyon, Deadwood etc... There are also many caverns to explore nearby and buffalo ranches to experience.
STURGIS BIKE WEEK 2006
Favorite moment - coming in every evening after a long ride and enjoying family time in your beautiful cabin.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful cabin with us. We enjoyed spending time on the porch. We cooked several meals on your new CharGrill - everything was perfect!
We spent a fun Christmas vacation in this lovely cabin. The view of the rare Christmas full moon over the snowy forest was amazing. The kids, ages 7,4 &2 had fun outside sledding down the driveway and inside flying paper airplanes from the loft. The beds were delightful and the 3 levels gave each family their own space. The only thing we missed was having a fireplace or wood stove.
Eight of us stayed at the cabin for Sturgis 2012, This cabin was one of the best accomodations I have had in the 43 years of attending the Rally. The cabin is far enough away to avoid the constant rumble of motorcycles yet only 10 minutes from the excitement of Deadwood. what a great place to come back to and relax after a day of riding, great view from the deck, and all the comforts of home. Less than a mile of real good hard packed gravel was no problem on the bike, and the driveway had ample parking for 6 motorcycles truck & trailer. with room to spare. It was great in the morning taking our time with a relaxing place that kind of says take your time, your on vacation. The layout was perfect, the furniture superb, and the beds were fabulous. Wildlife walks about as nature is 10 feet from the cabin. As it was an extremely hot Sturgis 2012, the cabin being at a higher elevation only required the windows open to cool down in the evening for a great sleep. Would highly recommend this cabin for 6-8 people who can enjoy nature, relax.and enjoy the comforts of home. I would love to stay here again if at all possible.
We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful mountain log cabin. All the appliances were in excellent condition; the cabin was clean and ready for our visit. We chose this place due to its close proximity to Deadwood for riding motorcycles in the Black Hills. A cab ride into Deadwood for 7 people was around $40, which we found reasonable.
The cabin is located on top of a mountain with a view of Terry Peak Ski area from the back deck. The main mountain road is paved with the final 1/2 mile to the cabin being a well-maintained dirt road. The driveway offered ample room to park a crew cab truck with a 24ft trailer and 4 motorcycles. The turn into the driveway on motorcycles is tight. All our bikes had wide tires; narrow tired bikes use extra caution with some gravel just at the edge of driveway.
The cabin appears small from the road, but is very roomy and comfortable when you see the full walkout basement which is the side seen in the photo. No one in the group was disappointed with their rooms or the layout of the cabin. Deer are plentiful in the area and in the backyard most mornings.
Motorcyclist will enjoy the cabins close proximity to Spearfish Canyon and Sturgis with great riding throughout the area. Dining and nightlife in Deadwood is much cheaper than Sturgis during the time around the Rally, which may be a consideration.
Bottom line: A great place with great owners. We would gladly stay here again and strongly recommend this place to our friends.
