2 Bedrooms, 1 Bathroom Cabin with access to Squam Lake
About Jill Hatton
Our family has owned vacation property on Squam Lake since 1996. Over the past 20 years we have purchased several homes on Grapevine Cove - a peaceful cove leading directly into big Squam Lake - to accommodate our family including four children, friends and family. We love the beauty of Squam Lake during all four seasons - from boating, fishing, swimming and water skiing in the summer to cross country skiing, ice skating and snowshoeing in the winter!
Jill Hatton purchased this Cabin in 2013
Why Jill Hatton chose Holderness
The cabin offers a relaxing, peaceful stay in a convenient location with access to Squam Lake and nearby outdoor attractions of the White Mountains. The cabin is set among trees in our family compound and we love relaxing on the wraparound porch in a rainstorm or enjoying playing cards next to the wood stove in the fall. Recently renovated, it features pine walls and wood floors, a fully applianced kitchen with dishwasher and microwave and tile bath with a walk in shower (no bathtub). The rental includes a boat slip in Grapevine Cove providing access to Big Squam for fishing, boating or other lake activities.
What makes this Cabin unique
The location of the cabin is convenient to nearby restaurants in Holderness, Meredith, Centre Harbor and Plymouth, NH - all within 5-20 minute drives. In addition, numerous hiking trails and ski slopes are nearby and the Squam Lakes Natural Science Center is 5 minutes away in Holderness.

Property and location outstanding!
Vacation week in N.H.
My husband, almost three year old son and I had an amazing week in N.H. at Jill’s cabin The Sett. It was a pleasure renting from Jill, always prompting responding to my questions and recommending great restaurants and a place for canoe rental. She had a bottle of wine with a welcome note waiting for us which was very nice. She met us on the day of our arrival and let us know that she was available throughout our stay. She left info on the cabin and brochures of the area which were very helpful. The cabin was immaculate. Appreciated how updated it is while still maintaining its’ rustic charm. We rented a canoe from the Squam Lakes Association, which is a short 5 minute canoe ride around the next cove. The beach parcel is a short 5 minute walk down the gravel road. Super convenient. Perfect for digging and catching frogs! Squam Lake was pretty quiet which allowed us to explore in the canoe. The location of the cabin is excellent (quiet and peaceful but close to everything). Everything was within a 5-35 min drive (Squam Lake Nature Science Center, Weirs beach, Ellacoya State Park, Mount Washington cruise to Wolfeboro, West Rattlesnake hike and hike around Castle of the Clouds). Loved sitting on the porch. And loved the board games and puzzle in the cabin! All in all, we had a wonderful stay and highly recommend this cabin. We hope to return again someday! (If you have little ones, just a heads up to watch for the occasional fast delivery driver down the gravel road, this is not meant as a deterrent but just a heads up, mainly a quiet street except for one truck that drove fast down the road, which can happen anywhere). Thanks Jill for a wonderful stay!! We appreciate it!!
Loved the location of this little hidden Sett! The owners were very attentive and very easy to communicate with! The cabin was clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our week!

Our vacation at The Sett , July 6th-13th, 2019
The Sett is charming. Recently remodeled very nicely, has everything you need to enjoy a quiet week away from home, with all the amenities. We have rented for many years in the area and this experience surpassed all of them. The owners even welcomed us as soon as we arrived. It comes highly recommended by us.
The Sett Review
We had a wonderful time staying at this property. Jill and Gary were very accommodating to our needs and were a pleasure to deal with. We would stay here again and hope to see them next year!
The cabin is conveniently located near restaurants, shopping and local attractions. Visit the Squam Lakes Natural Science Center which is only a 5 minute drive! Meredith, Centre Harbor and Plymouth are all charming areas within a 15-20 minute drive and offer year round restaurant and shopping choices.
Hiking abounds with nearby popular hikes including Rattlesnake, Cotton and Livermore Mountains. Skiing is nearby with Loon and Waterville within a 35-40 minute drive.
Since we are 10 minutes from Meredith this is a great location to stay if you are playing in or a fan of the New England Pond Hockey Tournament!!
