Excellent getaway from the noise and city rush
We had a wonderful time at Morganti 's, originally built back in the 1850's but upgraded to modern standards. We had everything we needed on site, great kitchen with everything including huge cooking pots and pans for a big family gathering, herbs in the garden, plenty of utensils and crockery. Three bathrooms with an old footed bath to relax in and large showers with marble finishes, although one was blocked with hair that we cleared. The ducks on the huge pond complete with water Lillies are a lovely distraction. The outdoor fire area is a terrific spot for bonding drinking wine and chewing the fat! The rooms are beautifully appointed with concentration on the original but comfort of the modern era. Noise does reverberate up the stairs. There are separate areas if people want some respite from the group or just to watch the footy while others are playing cards. Plenty of hot water. The fire in the smaller lounge room was a bit tricky to get going, but the fun was in trying. The doors are old and a bit sticky with the locks and the lights in the dining room were dull but it didn't interfere with our activities. Highly recommend this property so close to Daylesford with plenty of land around the house and horses to pat and feed an apple over the fence. Warm and comfortable, clean and rustic. A little pricey but you have the whole property and plenty of space. The hamper provided was really good quality. Could have had a few more towels and face washers for our two night stay as it was wet and muddy outside so people really needed showers. Would love to come again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the house was very well appointed. The only negative is that there is no mobile phone service (even Telstra)
