About the property

Parnell Place is in an ideal holiday location, in the heart of Newcastle's historic east-end. It is only a short stroll to all the wonderful things Newcastle offers, including Newcastle and Nobbys Beach, the harbour foreshore, parks, Fort Scratchley, restaurants, entertainment and the city centre.

NOTE: Due to preparations for the Newcastle 500 (V8s race in November) there are currently road works ongoing all around Newcastle East. This is affecting all residence in the area with respect to diversions, parking and noise during working hours and will continue till November 2017.

Parnell House was built in 1880, one of the first houses in this historic part of Newcastle. It has been partly renovated and offers some unique features, such as original wide polished floor boards, original sandstone block and rock walls in the basement level and some lovely antique furniture. It is quite rustic and not for those who are looking for luxury.

The house is on three levels. The upper floor offers two bedrooms. The main bedroom has a queen size four poster bed and a balcony that overlooks a park and Fort Scratchley. The second bedroom has two single beds.

The street level has the lounge room (with sofa bed), renovated kitchen and a newly renovated bathroom (shower only). The bathroom also has a washing machine.

The basement level has unique stone walls. This area has a large bedroom area with one double bed and one single bed. It is believed the stone for these walls originated from the ballast removed from the cargo ships coming into Newcastle Harbour.

From the basement level there is access to an outdoor area.

Due to the age of this house it has steep stairs, which means it may not be ideal for very young children or the elderly.

Parking is on street but we do provide one parking permit.

All linen is provided (excluding beach towels)

No smoking inside the terrace.

Limited Wi-Fi is available for checking emails and social media, downloading and/or streaming of movies etc is not allowed. IF excessive use of data is found an extra charge will be applied ($20).

Out door pets may be allowed given prior notice and approval given. Pets must not sleep on bed linen and all droppings must be picked up and disposed. A $20.00 cleaning surcharge per stay will be applied.

This property is a terrace in a small quiet community. We ask that people celebrating Bucks, Does, or Schoolies occasions not to apply.To families and friends we ask you to respect our neighbours and keep noise to a minimum.
