Gavin Tullos purchased this lodge in 2010
We spent several years vacationing in the Colorado Mountains. Then a few years saying how cool would it be to have our own place, Then a couple of more finding 'It'. We wanted to be secluded not remote, have running water, be with in a hour and half of a major airport, not too far from city conveniences but not to close either. We wanted to have hiking, fishing, and relaxation all in the same spot. We wanted our place to be 'rustic luxury'. We love our home and we love the great reviews and e-mails we get from others who have shared our place.
On the water, not close, not near, it is ON the South Boulder Creek. There is a 'Trout Ranch' about a mile up stream that stocks - all those beautiful trout come down to our place. 'Cabin' that is secluded with all the luxuries of a 5 star hotel. Direct TV, Blue Ray DVD, Surround Sound, Hot Tub, Sauna, Full gym on 2.5 acres of Blue Spruce and Aspen.
Many thanks to you all for opening your beautiful home to us for our vacation. We had a wonderful time with all of the fall colors and even had a dusting of snow one morning. Everything was cozy and welcoming...the wine was the perfect compliment to our dinners. Thank you again. Due to icing on the roads late Friday, we had to leave early but we plan to return in the future for another memorable time.
The cabin was charming. It was a great base for our skiing at Eldora. Great master bath with nice shower and whirlpool tub. Comfortable living room with fireplace and large screen TV. Good kitchen equipped appropriately to cook our meals. We found the high top dining table a little tall for us, but this was minor.
When we had an iisue, Gavin responded appropriately. We were very happy with our rental.
Had a great time catching fish in the creek, hiking in the mountains and relaxing in the evenings on the deck. Thanks for a great time!
This cabin has it all, peaceful solitude, yet convenient to Nederland, and Boulder. This is our second visit to the Diamond T, and it was fantastic. Many trout were caught, with 3 of them being in the 5-7 lb range. There were 6 of us this time, and the accommodations did not disappoint. We hardly new the care takers were there, and they were wonderful, and helpful to talk with. This is an awesome place if you want to "disappear" for a while, or, if you want a peaceful place to come home to from easy day trips (which is what we tend to do). The Diamond T has become one of our favorite places to stay. It truly feels like coming to a home.
Thank you Gavin!!!!
This was an excellent stay. The location is remote although very accessible to Nederland , within 25 minutes to Boulder, and 45 minutes to Denver. The decoration is rustic but very nicely done up. The hot tub and deck facing river were perfect for relaxing. It was clean and very comfortable. I would surely recommend it.
We arrived and loved the house, besides having to unload the dishwasher and shovel the snow off the decks ourselves, the house was clean. We also had to search the house to even set up the advertised 3rd bedroom with sheets and a blanket. After notifying him we would need all 3 bedrooms for the weekend I expected that to be done. We had our wedding weekend dinner party at the house, and ended up having 3 people more than expected. Due to the fact there was no cell service there, we didn't get the email from the owner until the next morning at our wedding. After reading his insane emails with completely exaggerated accusations, we called him. He told us we broke his trust, we had bad morals, and deceived him, and trashed his house. He said his caretaker which lives right next to the house above the garage, and can easily peer into the windows, video taped even ..... which I found to be extremely disturbing that this person was watching and video taping without our permission and was a COMPLETE invasion of privacy. We were told to get our things and to leave immediately or the sheriff would he called. Yes, we should have told him when we found out we were going to have 3 extra people, as he has reasons for the limit, but the way this was handled was off the wall. I assured him nothing was damaged and that we were sorry for not letting him know of the extra people, so we left the house in perfect condition and drove to a hotel on our wedding night, though a blizzard. Our deposit was refunded because "as I stated, nothing was damaged". But, we were treated like we were punk kids out to throw a kegger and destroy his home. Which is furthest from the truth. Before booking, I urge you to request to look at the rental agreement he sends you AFTER YOU PAY. As I didn't see it (and was not even told it existed) at all until we were being yelled at and accused of having bad morals. I think this was his intention. Also, the advertised gym and sauna are in a garage that smells of gasoline and is trashed with oil and tools and misc junk. So not exactly what he makes it sound to be. We would also have liked to previously(it is not stated in the write up of the place) know about the caretaker on site that will watch you throughout your stay, which is disclosed in the rental agreement you get again, AFTER you pay. Overall, a terrible experience for us, as he is not upfront about the true details of the property, did not make any attempt to call me or verify I had seen the r
We have stayed at this cabin 3 times and will many more. It is very well equipped. We never have not had something that we needed. The kitchen is very well stocked. The cabin sits right next to the South Boulder Creek. It is tucked away and is very quiet. It is very comfortable with lots of nice upgrades. Gavin is so easy to work with. We love this cabin!
