About Peter Greig
My name is Peter, This is the Family property where i was born and raised. I attended school both Primary and secondary schools Locally, and then went on to do, and complete a Trade in Whyalla before working the Farm for several years. I joined the insurance industry in 1969 and went on to have a very successful insurance and then Financial planning career, expanding and moving to Adelaide in 1990 and selling the business in July 2003.
Peter Greig purchased this Bed And Breakfast in 1907
Why Peter Greig chose Warnertown
This Property was the family Home and has been passed down through the generations. On moving to Norwood in 1990, I had the Property on long term rental ( which excluded me having regular access ) so I decided to turn in into a B&B in 2012.
What makes this Bed And Breakfast unique
The home on entry has a very relaxing and peaceful feel to it. You will also experience some amazing sunrises and Sunsets with some tremendous Star Formations thrown in as a Bonus on Dark nights.

PEACE & QUIET
A wonderful stay in what felt like my own home. Few, if any, cars along the road hundreds of metres away. Interesting trains rumbling by in the middle distance: it was fascinating watching them go by. And here was I, deep in the comforts of Milcowie B & B. No visitors. PLENTY of breakfast provisions. What a brilliant place just to catch up with yourself and relax. looking forward to my next visit.

In Port Pirie for work/conference and no accommodation in town...glad there wasn't as Milcowie B&B was one of the best places I have stayed in, quiet, comfortable, relaxing, everything you needed after a busy day and only 15 min. to Pirie. Thanks Peter.

Christmas at Milcowie
My family has just had the most enjoyable stay over Christmas at this most enjoyable rural property in country South Australia. In every way the property surpassed our
expectations. The farmhouse offers guests including families the ultimate in comfort and tranquility, excellent quality of furnishings and interior decoration and the attention to detail by the owner Peter is well above industry averages. In addition Peter provided us with more than ample supply of provisions and ensured that on arrival we were totally familiar with all aspects of his home. For children there are many activities including bike riding, nature walks and bird watching, ample board games and a good supply of tennis and cricket equipment to use on the well grassed and shaded outside areas. The community pool in Port Pirie is only 15 minutes away. Although the weather was very hot over Christmas the home was very well insulated against the heat and the air conditioning in
all rooms was very efficient. We will look forward to another stay in winter.
Hi John and Bella! It was great meeting you both & your 2 gorgeous children. I'm glad you enjoyed the property & yourselves , even though you experienced some extremely hot weather, ( that possibly made the Pirie pool even more attractive! ) Thankyou for leaving the property Prisdeen. You are most welcome to return , hopefully when you do the weather will shine on you! I hope the New Year is very very kind to you ! King Regards Peter
Awesome Old style place to stay
If you want some where that is quiet, relaxed and with everything you need then this is the place for you. If you wanted to stay on your own for a romantic weekend or eight people there is enough room there for all. The breakfast provisions was great with all fresh produce. Heaps of old time knickknacks to look at and the layout and styling of the house is awesome. While we was there we didn't want for anything and will be going back for sure when we can. It is only a fifteen minute relaxed drive to town or the Hills.
Hi Kevin! Thankyou for Reviewing my property. I'm so glad you found the property to your liking and enjoyed the peacefulness of the homestead, the Nicknacks etc. It was a pleasure meeting you both and would welcome you back again! Kind regards Peter
An absolute gem!
Walking into Milcowie was like coming home after a long absence. After speaking with Peter a number of times before arriving, it was like being greeted by a friend. He is an absolute joy. The house is beautiful. A delightful mix of old and new makes it feel like home with everything you could possibly need. The breakfast provisions were more than generous and we utilised the extras in the pantry when cooking. The house was proudly presented and spotless. We took advantage of the board games and our son loved the storybooks and little toys. The isolated location and peace and quiet ensured we couldn't do anything but relax and enjoy our stay. We experienced the most incredible sunrise the first morning we were there and loved the silence at night. We really felt like we were in amongst the country life. If you are considering a base from which to explore the Flinders Ranges, the small towns in the vicinity, or even to just do absolutely nothing, Milcowie B&B is the perfect place. We have done a few short trips and this is by far the best, and also the best value for money. After just a three day stay we were sad to leave but we're forever thankful to Peter for helping us create another mini-holiday memory. We will definitely be back. Abbey, Paul and Massimo.
Hi Abbey! It was great to meet Paul, Massimo and yourself! Thank you so much for your specific and personal review. It was a pleasure to host you, and I'm pleased that you found the homestead and the surroundings enjoyable, relaxing and memorable. I look forward to hosting you again in the future, Kind Regards Peter
