7 Bdrms with gameroom/bunk beds in main house plus 2 cabins that have 3 bdrms.
We are in the deep ocean exploration business, and have recovered valuable cargoes from shipwrecks around the world. Our exploits have been featured on our Discovery Channel series and in National Geographic and network TV. You'll discover some of our finds and memorabilia in this property, which is our place to find some tranquility away from our crazy life. You may even go home with a shipwreck artifact as a memento of your stay with us! This place holds amazing memories for our family and friends - it is often the gathering place for our extended families for parties and spontaneous events alike.

Why Owner chose Odessa
Since moving to the Tampa area in 1985, I scoured the local area for the perfect lake property to make our family compound. About twenty years ago, we discovered Lake Hiawatha, which I think is by far the best lake in the entire area. It is the second largest lake, but has no public access so very little boat traffic. Sections of the lake shore are still natural woods with large adjacent protected land. Three freshwater springs feed the lake, so when other lakes have lowered water levels, this lake is always high, the water beautiful, clear and filled with fish. The lake supports an amazingly healthy natural environment for wildlife. We have a bald eagle, ospreys, owls, blue jays, cardinals, a family of sandhill cranes and herons among other birds. The fishing is some of the best in the area. I have personally caught two bass over 10 lbs, and on any given trip it is not unusual to catch a dozen of more bass. There are large schools of Crappie and monster bream and bluegill. It feels like you are truly in the middle of nowhere, with amazing hiking trails not far away in the huge JB Starkey County park that has miles and miles of hiking, biking and pet exploration trails and campsites. On the other hand, shopping centers, cinemas and many restaurants are 10-15 minutes away - and you can be at Tampa airport in less than 20 minutes, Bush Gardens or Disney World in 90 minutes.
What makes this Estate unique
The lake is big enough with sufficient breeze for zipping around in the Hobie cat or windsurfer. We can organize use of the bass boat or the pontoon boat which is perfect for sunset cruises - which both require a Captain which can be arranged in advance. Upon request, we also have a smaller flatbottom boat that can be made available, as well as fishing equipment. Swimming is great - the water is always clear and warm. It is shallow enough close to shore for kids to play, but about 6 feet deep off the end of the dock. The boat house provides a shady roof area and full sundeck up top. It is a favorite place to hang out and read. This is a side of Florida that most visitors don't get to experience, but one that we fell in love with - and I am sure you will too!

Amazing Family Reunion
We had 4 generations together and all had an amazing time. This beautiful property had something for everyone. It is very clean and has everything you would ever need. The staff there was very friendly, helpful and accessible. We couldn't recommend this place any higher. Thank you for our lfe lasting memories.
Easy to book. Check-in was very easy.
Great house for large group. Everything we wanted and more. Property manager was very helpful.
Perfect location and property for our needs. We had a wonderful time!
Having 3 buildings to stay in was awesome. With 16 people, we did not feel on top of each other. It was so great we were able to use the kayaks and canoe. We had fun and would defiantly stay there again.
Fantastic place for a reunion getaway
The estate was perfect for our yearly reunion trip of 10 people. There was plenty of space for everyone. This space could have easily handled more and still have plenty of space to go around. If you wanted to hang out in a common spot or just relax alone dockside there was something for everyone. The availability of fishing rods and kayaks/canoes were an added plus we completely forgot about.
Would stay here again in a heartbeat when I'm back in the Tampa/Odessa area.
Thanks Christopher! So glad you guys had a great time and got to see quite the entertaining hockey game!!!
You were great quests and are welcome back anytime!
Cheers... go Lightning ;-)
We had a retreat with 9 businessmen. It is an awesome place. Plenty to do (fish, boat, grill out, games, etc). We found it a 10 out of 10
Thanks Mark! So glad you got to enjoy all the amenities and had a relaxing retreat!
You guys was also great guests and left the place impeccable! You are welcome back anytime and hopefully for a longer stay!
A perfect place for families!
This property is very unique and special on so many levels.
It's location right on Lake Hiawatha is magical. It reminded me of the film, "On Golden Pond"...a pristine lake, a laid back atmosphere where everyone had plenty of space indoors and outdoors to just hang out and relax. Whether is was fishing off the dock for Big Mouth Bass; sitting in the gazebo with our morning coffee or evening cocktails; making s'mores in the outdoor fire pit; playing a game of basketball out front; floating on tubes in the lake, cooking meals in the big open kitchen, reading a book in the hammock...everyone was able to chill out and escape from their normal busy routines. The main house is spacious and comfortable.
There is a bunk house and a small cottage, each with their own screened in porches. The kids had a blast hanging out in their "own" homes.
Greg, the owner, is just wonderful. He went above and beyond to help us in any and every way. We can't speak highly enough of him.
I could go on and on but suffice it to say...this is a little slice of heaven in Odessa, Florida. What a delightful surprise!!
