Cygnet House Rental Photos and Description

Wake to the water views from your bedroom of this stunning waterside home. Stroll along the foreshore or the rocks, drop a fishing line in from the boat ramp or just watch the yachts across the road at the yacht club. Sit in the comfortable sofas and enjoy the bird life from the comfort of the open plan living area, which looks out over the water at Cygnet.

Maybe you prefer to curl up in the other of the two living areas , in front of the double sided fireplace, read a good book while enjoying treasures you may have found in the local wineries and cider houses.Or a glass of local wine and some yummy cheese from "up the road" on the verandah overlooking the water.

Karingal consists of three king bedrooms, with one that can be changed to two king singles. Ensuite to the main bedroom and a bathroom with separate toilet servicing the other two rooms. Two lounge living areas ,both with fireplace. Open plan gourmet kitchen opening onto one of the living areas facing the water. Large entry and double lock up garage. A well appointed laundry. The front open plan lounge/dining/kitchen area opens onto a large covered verandah through glass stacker doors.

The property is all on one level with a small step at the garage and entry doors.

During the day, the bustling village of Cygnet is an easy ,level ten minute stroll along the waterfront boardwalk , where the famous Red Velvet Lounge, Lotus Eaters Cafe and the Port Cygnet Diner showcase wonderful seasonal produce found in the region. Or, if you'd like to buy your own, the Cygnet Garden Larder is certainly worth a visit .Here you'll find wonderful local, fresh and organic fruit and vegetables. The Butcher next door smokes his own free-range bacon and you can find grass-fed beef and lamb in abundance. Want a treat, look a couple of doors up and visit the Cygneture chocolates for a handmade delight.

The cellar door of Pagan Cider, just outside town on the road to Huonville and Willie Smith's Organic Cider and Apple Museum on the road to Hobart both specialise in micro batches of artisan-made cider from locally picked fruit.

For those who have a passion for gourmet cooking the kitchen will not disappoint. The large working pantry is stocked with dry goods for your use.

Whether it be a holiday for adventure in Southern Tasmania or relaxation to renew the soul Karingal will be your ideal base.

Cygnet is a small tow of approximately 1000 people , situated in the Huon Valley 45 minutes southwest of Hobart and 15 minutes out of Huonville. Cygnet was originally named in 1793 by French navigator Admiral Bruny D'Entrecasteaux during a voyage in search of a missing explorer.Because of the number of black swans in the bay, he named the inlet in his native French Port de Cygne Noir (Black Swan Port) which was later changed to Cygnet.

The town is the center of a fruit growing district now favored by gourmet foodies, artists and travelers ,due largely to the beautiful scenery in the area. Some local attractions include cherry orchards, art galleries, craft and art shops , Hartzview Vineyards and the Talune Wildlife Park which features a range of native animals ,including the Tassie devils and Koalas

The Cygnet folk festival is a main attraction each year in January. Other attractions in the area include Bush walking, Hartz Mountains National Park, Tahune Air walk , Hastings Caves, Wooden boat School,Rafting, river cruises,Home Hill Winery , Peppermint Bay , Grandview Cheese factory & cafe, Flurtey's cafe & sculpture walk, Salamanca Markets, Bruny Island and art galleries galore.
