Second stay at this property, and would come again. Everything you need.
Great place to stay for a young (but not too young) family, especially if one of the kids is furry. Feels like a relatives holiday home, with everything you need to relax and enjoy yourself. They’d even set a big fire for us in the outside fire pit, on which we sacrificed many marshmallows!
I am so glad that you enjoyed another stay at The Olive Retreat. It is a great place for families.
The cooler months really allow the property to show its best features.
It is very popular with those of your religion in the winter. Many, many marshmallows are sacrificed to the great Marshmallow Spirit.
You are alays great guests and we are always happy to see you return.
This is a well equipped, highly aesthetically pleasing property. Beautifully designed and decorated cottage and tranquil, peaceful beautiful surrounds. Lovely BBQ are and front area to sit outside and chill after busy days in the Hunter Valley. Our two fur babies had a wonderful time as well, though we had to put them inside when we went out. Only thing we forgot to take was soap for the shower as thought that would be there.
We all highly recommend this property

I am so glad that you enjoyed your stay at The Olive Retreat and appreciated all that both the house and the area have to offer.
The view of the mountain from the rear verandah is indeed very tranquil. Just the spot for a relaxing glass of the Hunter's best red while you wait for the steak to cook.
Rest assured that fresh supplies guest soaps are now on hand.
Thank you for being such great guests....it would be our pleasure to welcome you all back at any time in the future.
Relaxation at its best
Stayed 2 nights - wished it was longer. Took the teenagers and dog and everyone had an amazing time. Every detail catered for making so welcoming. Loads of room and privacy. An absolute gem. Can't wait to get back there.
Hi Ana, I am so glad that you enjoyed your stay at The Olive Retreat. It is just one of those places that seems to open its arms and make you feel at home. Please do come again - you were great guests. Regards, Annette www.getawayhunter.com.au
The Olive Retreat provides a peaceful location with all the comforts of home, within close proximity to all the Hunter Valley has to offer. We had two small children with us, who loved the kangaroos that visited the home each day.
Thank you Rebecca, The wildlife that the olive grove attracts is wonderful - from the kangaroos, birds and rabbits, right down to the tiniest insects and bugs of the most unusual shapes and sizes that can be found on the olive trees, to the dragonflies hovering over the dams, there is always something interesting to see. Did you notice the mother swallow nesting under the back veranda? She fledged three babies recently. Regards, Annette www.getawayhunter.com.au
When can we move in?
Absolutely fantastic Hunter Valley home. From the drive through the country, the olive groves and the first glimpse of the home, The Olive Retreat was exactly what we wanted. The house itself is a wonderful traditional Australian country home, with lots of space, a well-stocked and equipped kitchen, lots of linen, and all the conveniences we needed. Outdoors is spectacular. We loved walking through the olive trees with the kids and the dog, and the deck is great for a glass of wine and a barbecue. We'll try our hardest to come back often.
Peaceful and relaxing
Once again The Olive Retreat was just perfect for our short stay. It was incredibly hot during our stay and the ducted air conditioning was a saviour. Lovely comfy bed and well stocked pantry and fridge items. Loved sitting out on back verandah with a glass of bubbly and just taking in the peace and quiet of the countryside. Daisy our labrador enjoyed a visit from the neighbours dog!!
Annette was a pleasure to deal with and went above and beyond.
Many thanks Jenny and Chris
