About the property

"Le Cayron", at the edge of Bellingen, is located half way between the ocean (Urunga/Hungry Heads) and the mountains (Dorrigo), with links to both Urunga and Dorrigo. Situated next to the Old Butter Factory and the Golf course, Le Cayron is walking distance from town, yet you feel you are miles away from everything. Le Cayron can accommodate up to 6 adults and 3 children. There are two double bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with a queen size bed, plus a lounge room that has a double bed and can also be used as a third bedroom. There are bunk-beds and a single bed in the sunroom which can be used for children.

The bathroom is roomy with a spa bath. The kitchen is fully equipped and renovated. There is a large area underneath the house that includes a bathroom, laundry as well as a large playroom.

There is also a large carport. The garden faces the mountains and there is an uninterrupted view of the countryside. Drop over for a coffee at the nearby Old Butter Factory, walk up to town or just enjoy this private rural setting near the river with fabulous rural and mountain views and lovely breezes.

PLEASE NOTE THAT LINEN AND TOWELS WILL FROM NOW ON BE PROVIDED but could you please let the host know which beds you will be using.

Le Cayron is a fantastic house for family holidays. It has board games and lots of books. It is also perfect for an artist or writer in search of a place to create.

Spacious and relaxed

  • 4 of 5

Le Crayon is a very relaxed property perfectly organised with stacks of books and art and comfy furniture. Its a good kitchen fully equipped for cooks. It is positioned with views across paddocks which was relaxing. I also loved being able to walk through the golf course down the road with my dog in the evenings. A restful stay

The best ever

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I stayed at Le Cayron over the summer and it was without a doubt the best time of our lives. The house has everything you could ever dream of, including a multitude of sleeping options, huge sprawling garden backing onto the river, a big outdoor table where you can have dinner under the stars, a delicious bath from which you can see cows pottering around in the next door paddock etc. We loved it so much! The house is just in the most perfect location too - close enough to walk into town and right next door to the old butter factory (so you can wander over and pick up a little coffee and a treat any time). We all regularly reflect on our time at this house and miss it so much! It feels like the house you grew up in <3 Thank you so much Alice, you have such a special place.

home away from home

  • 4 of 5

From the moment we entered the property we were enchanted by its charm. Something akin to paradise, surrounded by green pastures, nestled by a flowing river, full of wildlife and wide open spaces. Warm and homely with plenty of cozy nooks to curl up with a good book and a coffee, or sitting out on the verandah enjoying the peace and quiet in the fresh summer breeze. A well appointed kitchen with everything you'd ever need and two bathrooms made it ideal for a family of six and two grandparents! Situated on the outskirts of the beautiful town of Bellingen, the perfect distance for a casual walk past the golf course, with the old butter factory next door to cater for refreshments and a unique shopping experience. We all had a marvellous time and would definitely love to visit again.

Quirky, comfort

  • 5 of 5

This Grand Dame was right up our alley when it comes to the type of quirky bohemian places we love. We stayed only a short time but the house was a treasure trove with its gramophone and records, CDs, cases packed with books in English and in French and artwork and decor that sat together like old friends. We cooked up a feast and ate at the heavy timber table while the flickering candlelight bounced off the gorgeous old crockery and warm wood and brought the family photographs to life around us. We slept in beds whose view looked out into fields stars and trees and in the morning, the sounds of nearby farm animals and birds was all that came. I awoke to a ceiling of painted clouds floating with golden cherubs on the light above me. I knew I was in heaven.
