This totally remodeled studio condo (Hanalei Bay Resort, Unit 3106) overlooks beautiful Bali Hai, the pearl of Kauai’s North Shore. Watch the surfers on Hanalei Bay as you enjoy a leisurely breakfast on the slate covered lanai, then go visit the island sights, but be sure to get back in time for the sunsets! This studio condo is a one-of-a-kind within the complex! Accessible, and free, parking is just a few feet away from this first floor unit. The unit has been totally refurbished and nicely appointed with a modern Polynesian touch. The unobstructed view of Bali Hai is usually described by the guests as breathtaking. The beauty of the unit itself, the view of Hanalei Bay and Bali Hai and the accessibility and convenience of this unit make an unparalleled combination. And it’s all within the fabulous Garden of Eden of the north shore, the Hanalei Bay Resort.
And, yes, the condo has various snorkel gear and some beach toys for the little ones. Oh, and i just added an iHome® Kineta Bluetooth® FM Alarm Clock Radio and Speaker.
Two guests are easily accommodated in the unit. Since you’re sleeping on the king-size custom-made Indonesian “Pineapple” bed, you can actually watch the surfers on Hanalei Bay for awhile before getting up. You might even want to stretch out on the rattan lounge chair in the bedroom while you re-read a little Michener, Theroux—or even Crichton, one of our (now late) “locals” before turning in, or check your email on the free internet. (I was tempted to say the unit sleeps three because a child could sleep on that lounge chair.) Please browse the floor plan layout on one of the photos, and let me know if it still isn't clear.
NOTE: this is NOT a one-bedroom condo with a separate bedroom, it is one large sleeping room with a lounge chair, a table and two small chairs, two bed stands, an entertainment center and, a mini-kitchen between the bedroom and the bathroom.
After a day of sight-seeing you will enjoy the two-person, six-jet shower with a window facing Bali Hai, which includes a switch that, almost magically, makes the window become opaque for the shy!--oops, it just quit working, lets hope I can get it fixed quickly:)). This bedroom unit includes a coffee maker, toaster, microwave, and a mini-fridge for your convenience. And, of course, there are plates, silver, glasses and cups. Air conditioning is only needed once in a while but it’s there if you need it.
A beautiful beach shared with the St Regis Hotel for great swimming and snorkeling is just a short 10-minute walk away down the hill past the tennis courts. And it’s all in close walking distance to all the fabulous HBR amenities like restaurant/bar/free parking near the condo/tennis/pool.
FYI..We also have another (adjoining) studio condo that sleeps two with a full kitchen and Jacuzzi hot tub. Check it out at VRBO 237539 and contact me for prices and more information on that unit, which might be available when this one is not.
My wife, Audrey, and I are up here in Sacramento, CA --when we're not in Kauai, which is never enough for Audrey, especially during the chilly rains we get here in Northern California. We've owned this property since it was totally refurbished in 2006. Before that we owned a unit in building #2, which was nice but the third floor became too much for Audrey and, more importantly, she couldn't see enough WATER, so we've fixed that problem. And now she's happy, and it doesn't get any better than that!
Dale Carlson purchased this studio in 2005
This is our second stay at Hanalei Bay Resort Room #3106 and enjoyed it again. Clean and great customer service. You can't go wrong for location in Princeville. Room amenities of full size coffee pot, toaster, blender, microwave and small refrigerator allowed us to have breakfast and snacks as wanted. Cooler & snorkel gear were great, beach umbrellas were in need of repair tho. Awesome shower and plenty of towels, but disappointed mirror/window in shower was not working this time as outside view from bathroom is a nice touch. Cleaning supplies provided, would have like to have had paper towels available tho. Bed and A/C made sleeping comfortable, rooster wake up call is provided. Loved the walk out patio and chairs to take in the views, close to pool, and the first floor is nice to walk into after a full day of fun. Would stay again and recommend this room & resort, especially now that the Happy Talk Bar/Restaurant is open.
From the moment you drive you are in awe at the views from the lobby, we could not wait to head over to our room, they treat you really nice at check-in, they insisted on carry our bags (Just a couple) and show us our place, they warned us, your room has a nice view, and Yes it did! I loved everything about the property, the bed is big and comfy, the kitchenette has everything you need and more, what I loved the most was the shower! woohoo, got to love those water yets! The view from the room is spectacular, we cached a magical rainbow over the mountains one morning, it was just amazing! The property has plenty of towels, extra linens, surfing gear, ironing board, hair dryer, all the amenities of a hotel suite and much more. Plus the resort pool area and tennis court along with the path to the beach are the best! I hope I can make it back one day! I wish I stayed longer to take advantage of the amenities, we were on the go all the time, but I really appreciate the owner emails to check on us. Thank you Dr. Dale for your attentive emails! God Bless!
This room at the HBR had private, unobstructed, and spectacular views of the ocean. Sitting on the lanai having coffee was such a treat. Beautiful birds and roosters would greet us in the mornings (or whenever we sat outside). The room was the perfect size, and the bed was very comfortable. Dale was a perfect host who was very quick in getting back to us (before and during our stay). The grounds had a beautiful pool and a lovely lounge which served a small, but delicious menu. It was great that we could rent most things by the pool area for the day. The room was a short and beautiful walk down to the ocean - which was very calm. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
This is an indivial condo within a much larger resort complex that is in one of the most desirable areas of the north shore! Well appointed condo with adequate kitchen and roomy modern shower. The best part is the lanai that overlooks Hanalei bay. Fitness center, great restaurant, tennis courts, and much more on property. Quiet area with a shopping center close by for all your needs!
Had a great 3-night stay at Dale's place. Perfect size for a solo traveler or a couple. Loved the property - tennis courts, beach access that is shared with the St. Regis. Happy Talk Lounge was the place to grab drinks/dinner in the afternoon.
This property has a million dollar view! Saw gorgeous sunsets from the patio and even enjoyed the daily visits by the Nene geese and roosters at breakfast there. The waterfall pool is a few steps away. Felt like I was enjoying a natural pool with waterfalls amid the gorgeous landscaped area. Lots of beautiful native plants add to the ambiance.
We were recently at the MBR for a wedding and our room with its spectacular views wasthe envy of all our friends. Dale was a VERY responsive, thoughtful, and lovely host. We would be more than happy to stay in one of his properties again!
