The cottage was cute, a bit funky. There was not as much privacy as we had hoped. We shared the back yard with the owners who were mostly not there, but we observed their friends visiting in the gazebo, and from inside the cabin we could hear them talking on the phone while on their porch. Their house and the cabin were very close, just a walkway between the two. Parking was limited, we could only park one of our vehicles in the driveway, the other was on a strip along side the road. The cabin was very clean. The hot tub was a warm tub and we were instructed not to raise the temp as we would be sharing it with the owners. We would probably not stay there again.
Not what we expected
We appreciated the location to both Nevada City and Grass Valley. The home was not what we were expecting. There was an awful odor in the house the entire time that we could not get rid of. The house was very cold when we entered. We couldn’t get the heater to work until I figured out the filters were so clogged that it was shutting itself off. Once we cleaned the filters the best we could, the heater worked. All of the outdoor areas were wrapped up and covered for winter. It would have been nice to sit in the gazebo. The shower was the size of a camper shower. Not at all suitable for a house. The post states it sleeps 6, but if you have more than 2 people it is an additional $40 per day. I don’t understand this logic. Shouldn’t you be able to have 6 people if it sleeps 6? Lastly, nowhere did it state that the owner’s house is on the same property. It is nice to know what privacy you will have. I’m sorry to say we felt let down.
A secluded get away where one could looks up through the pines and count the stars in the heavens.
The hosts were kind and attentive to details, the cottage is comfy and it feels like home.
Clean, Great Location
Cottage was just in the right place at the right time and had all of the amenities I'd hoped for.
A fun place to stay.
A fun, interesting place to stay. Lots of places to meet with friends, both inside and outside, with a hot tub. Both cabins are tastefully decorated. Plenty of towels and blankets. Well furnished. Wifi works well, also the T.V. Upstairs loft has plenty of head-room. Owners are friendly, and have a nice dog and cat. Remote controlled gate to enter and exit. Tons of utensils, plates and such in the kitchen. One must step up to get in the shower, and I wish there were grab-bars, I was a little un-steady.
Amaizing backyard space
We loved staying here. Close to town but in a slice of paradise! Our host was attentive to us during our stay. We will be back.
