Art by the Creek self-contained studio accommodation welcomes you to share our lifestyle.
Separate and private, nestled within a ten acre property fronting onto Kings Hole, Coopers Creek, this loft-style, open plan artist's studio is bright, light and airy with two verandahs to enjoy the ambience within a garden setting.
Although Art by the Creek is set up as a Bed and Breakfast - we supply a breakfast basket upon arrival - this studio/apartment is self-catering with mini-oven/cooktop; stainless steel electric frypan; pots and frypan, with your own bbq on the separate deck, if you wish to stay with us longer and be self-sufficient.
Recently renovated and extremely arty, we have designed this space with you in mind: enjoy a relaxing, time-out and as-natural-as-can-be experience limited only by your own desires.
Rainforest and native trees abound with wildlife including koalas, goannas, echidnas, wallabies, bush turkeys, black cockatoos, platypus, fish in the creek and any number of flittering, twittering and skittering creatures!
You can take a short walk to the creek through ambient, rain-forest gardens and enjoy a swim in a totally private, natural setting: sit on a warm rock or take photos for your own painting experience later on.... all possible without getting in your car! We have it all right here, at your feet.
However, if you do want to get in your car and take a look around this gorgeous area, there is no shortage of places to see. Five minutes down the road is the Domo Japanese Cafe, near the Federal Store, and is open for breakfast and lunch every day with world-class authentic sushi, best burgers and so much more! Note: Doma Cafe is only open during the daytime. Federal Store is open all day, with fine local produce, bottle shop with a good selection of wines etc and other supplies (local and organic produce) to tantalize your tastebuds. Also a Post Office with tourist information, magazines, cards and local maps. Pop-up restaurants at the Federal Hall, or The Smokehouse pop-up on Friday and Saturday nights in the old Pogels Wood restaurant. A new coffee shop has also opened, boasting the best of the best....
There is always something going on in Federal - perhaps time your stay to coincide with the monthly film night? Or live band/fund-raiser. Or dance. Or theatrical event?
Drive fifteen minutes to Bangalow along country roads and discover how many world-class restaurants are waiting to receive and feed you. A few more minutes further down the road and you will be surfing at Wategos Beach or Belongil, or Tallows, or Broken Head......
Rainforest walks/Waterfall walks at Minyon Falls are but a short drive, as are Rocky Creek Dam and a little further again - into the Nightcap Ranges, Terania Creek (Protestor's Falls) and on to Nimbin.
Maybe you want to arrange your stay to coincide with one of the many happenings in our area? Mullum Music Festival (highly recommended, around November); Byron Blues Festival (Easter long weekend); Falls Festival (January); Splendour in the Grass (July), Byron Writers Festival (August), Nimbin Mardi Grass, Boomerang Festival, Byron Surf Festival of Arts, Byron Film Festival, Starlight Festival, Tropical Fruits.... so many festivals, not enough days!
Live theatre (check out NORPA's website for current offerings - be it a dance performance, world music, comedy festivals, cutting edge theatre) within a 30 minute drive to either Lismore or Byron Bay.
Byron Hinterland gives you the quiet relaxation of the rainforest with the opportunity to still enjoy all Byron has to offer (kayaking, diving, ballooning, parachute jumps, hang-gliding and all things in the extreme......)
For a holiday with a difference, come and visit us and see what Art by the Creek has to offer - we love it here and we're sure you will, too......
