Why is renting our apartment different from most other short-term rentals in NYC?

1. Peace of mind - we can legally rent our apartment as a short-term vacation rental because our house is a 2-family private dwelling. Apartments in buildings that contain 3 or more apartments cannot be legally rented on a short-term basis (30 days or less) in NYC.

2. We live on the property. While the apartment is a separate unit with a private entrance, we live upstairs. If you have any questions, concerns or issues, we can address it right away and most of the time, in person.

3. We provide all of our guests with an information binder with valuable neighborhood and NYC information and can assist with any requests they may have.

4. We love to travel and know what is important to our guests. We professionally clean our apartment between guests and make sure everything possible is provided for our guests comfort.

We hope you will enjoy our city and apartment!

Lovely little apartment in a nice part of town,

  • 5 of 5

Me and my husband have just stayed in Michael and sandy’s apartment for 4 nights, communication before hand was excellent and they were very informative with everything I asked. Upon arrival access to the property was easy with a key safe and instructions emailed before hand, apartment was spacious and clean. We asked for extra bedding for the sofa bed and it was no problem what so ever. The eatery’s that we’re recommended (Sylvia’s ) was our first port of call after along flight and we weren’t disappointed, classic New York food. Sandy came and gave us a run down of the subway maps and must see of things to do. First was the rockafella (top of the rock) great view of the city and the Empire State Building, the High Line which we didn’t know about was a lovely walk on a sunny day away from the hussle and bussle of downtown NY, and sandy also recommended a visit to Greenwich village with its quaint little streets and great places to eat. And we also got to see the Friends building and Carrie Bradshaws apartment building. Only downside to the apartment is it’s location it’s a 20 min subway ride back from downtown Manhattan if you wanted to go and freshen up or have an afternoon kip, jet lag is a killer those first few days, but isn’t a major problem and we actually enjoyed the freedom of a self catering app rather than a hotel. All in all we had a wonderful stay in New York, great hosts in Michael and Sandy and yes we will be back and I would recommend the apartment to anyone wanting to visit the city as it’s a great alternative to hotels.

Best Stay Ever!!!

  • 5 of 5

We could not have had a better experience!!! Everything about Michael and Sandy's apartment was great! Upon arriving, Sandy greeted us and showed us around the apartment, telling us to contact them if we needed anything. The apartment had tons of room and felt very clean, spacious, and comfortable.

Since we came for the marathon, I was hoping for good sleeps both before and after the race. My girlfriend and I stayed in the bedroom and it was the best bed we've both ever slept on, and there was absolutely no outside noise to disturb us. My mom slept on the pull-out sofa and slept great as well.

The kitchen was well-stocked and had everything we needed and more. We cooked quite a bit, so it was super convenient to have a Whole Foods less than two short blocks away. There was also tea, coffee, fruit, spices, and a bottle of wine provided by Michael and Sandy. Wow!!!

The location of the apartment was perfect! We took a convenient bus ride from La Guardia Airport to their apartment. The bus stop is right near the Whole Foods, so it is a very short walk. The subway is also located right by the bus stop. We took trains our whole trip, so it was awesome to only have to walk about two minutes to and from the subway. There were also amazing restaurants within a few minutes of the apartment. Michael and Sandy gave us recommendations, and we were not disappointed. Babbalucci and Sottocasa were excellent!

Finally, Michael and Sandy could not have been better hosts! They are incredibly friendly and kind people! Upon finishing the marathon, Michael and Sandy both came down from their apartment above us to congratulate me and present me with a nice card and bottle of wine. That's right, another bottle of wine!!! Also, during the marathon, Sandy somehow recognized me and gave me that final push I needed to finish the marathon strong, and Michael took great photos of me running.

Obviously, we loved our stay and thought Michael and Sandy were amazing hosts! If you are ever heading to New York and staying in Harlem, this is the place to stay! You will not be disappointed!!! Thank you Michael and Sandy!!!

Logement agréable et spacieux à Harlem

  • 4 of 5

Stay 3 adults of 10 days in this very nice and very well equipped accommodation. We appreciated the space, the storage (large cupboards) and the cleanliness of the places.

Apartment in a small street just steps from Lenox Avenue, shopping (including a Whole Foods Market), and metro (express lines).

Mickaël and Sandy are very nice hosts, attentive to the well being of their tenants.

Great Location, wonderful property management

  • 5 of 5

This apartment is two blocks away from the subway station- you can't get much better than that in NYC! While you may or may not want to see the area the apartment is in, the subway is able to get you anywhere you want in the city in just a few minutes. My husband and I stayed here for a couple days and were able to see everything we wanted thanks to the nearby subway station, and our incredible hosts who met us in person upon arrival and made us feel at home immediately. Sandy answered all our questions, gave us recommendations and helped us to get oriented to NYC. The hosts are available promptly and take great pride in their property and hosting.
