Fernleigh Cottage accommodation is located in Stanwell Park, the first beach south of the Royal National Park.
The Park is completely surrounded by bushland and the ocean. The area is famous for its Hanggliding from Bald Hill which overlooks the coastline from Stanwell Park to Wollongong. Other activities include bushwalking, horse riding, golf, tennis and just relaxing on the beach.
The village of Stanwell Park has a corner store and bottle shop for necessities and several excellent cafes to be found near or within Art Galleries and craft shops. The beach kiosk also serves wholesome eat-in or takeaway meals.
The accommodation is a self-contained apartment on the lower level of our house with off street parking and separate entry. There is a large main room which has a king sized bed, lounge setting including double futon sofa bed, a table and chairs and small kitchen area. There is a small adjoining bedroom which has a double bed with single bunk above, and there is also a small bathroom.
How to get there.
From the North: Drive south on the Princes Highway through Sutherland and Waterfall. After Waterfall stay on the F6 towards Wollongong. Take the Helensburgh exit and follow the signs to Stanwell Park. As you come to the bottom of the excarpment take the second turning to the left which passes the shops. After you pass the corner store take the next street on your left, Stanwell Ave. At the end of a median strip planted with palms make a U turn into a service road and you have arrived.
From the South: Follow the Princes Highway to Bulli. After Bulli turn right into Lawrence Hargrave Drive and follow the coast to Stanwell Park. Shortly after Murrawal Rd (which is the first street on your right), veer right at the Articles Art Gallery building. Immediately after the gallery there are two streets to the right from almost the same point. Stanwell Ave is the second and higher street.
Train: Travelling by rail from both Sydney and Wollongong is a very picturesque journey with a 10 minute walk downhill from the station.

Thank you Gail! We really enjoyed staying with you. All the little things you've thought of make such a difference and make for a really welcoming, relaxed and enjoyable stay. Thank you for accommodating us and your warm and thoughtful hospitality. I would definitely stay here again.
Thank you Sarah, you're more than welcome. Hope to see you again!
We were immediately made to feel at home by Gail. Finding fresh orange juice in fridge and milk. Then the offer of freshly baked bread...
Thank you Michelle, it was lovely having you.
Gail is the only thing that outshines her property
Very spacious apartment, has laundry facilities, huge king sized bed (that looks like a premier honeymoon bed). Apartment comes with breakfast supplies and the host prepares HOME-MADE BREAD IN THE MORNING. Doesn't get any better than this.
Thank you Abraham, It was lovely to have you stay. Hope to see you again.
The place had everything required to have a good weekend. The host was lovely!
We enjoyed our stay and kids had a very Gud time......
Comfortable apartment with all amenities
A very comfortable apartment centrally located, ideal for a family unit. We arrived early, since we had to attend a wedding at Lilyvale National Park. Every effort was made to ensure that we had access to the apartment, early. The delicious freshly baked bread for breakfast was a bonus.
