About the property

Lola's Loft is a self contained house with lovely views of the snow capped Mountains of Mt Kosciuszko. It is hidden away on 86 acres at an altitude of 1300m. Located 300m above the township center of Lake Jindabyne. It is a peaceful location to base your exploration of the snowy mountains from. There is room to stretch out and relax and go for walks or bike rides. Stay warm with a toasty fireplace and cool in summer with excellent air conditioning. The property can get occasional snow fall at times, which is a lovely experience for all ages. As a guide, Thredbo base station is at 1365m altitude and Perisher base station is 1720 meters.

Generally, a snow view of the peaks starts from April through until November. The loft is recently renovated, warm and cosy. Fitted out with quality comfortable beds and furniture. The outdoor landscape is rugged and changes with the seasons from lush green to shades of yellows. There are fun trails for mountain biking all around the area. There are hens laying your fresh eggs for a hot breakfast. Both Perisher and Thredbo ski resorts are a 35 minute scenic drive on sealed roads. Lake Jindabyne is 15 minutes down the hill and the National Park entry gates are 20 minutes. Snow chains are required in winter from the park entry gates, unless you have a 4wd.

Escaping the heat in summer for a snow melt swim in the lake can be a refreshing change to the ocean. There is room for your boat or canoe, or you can hire craft on the lake. The air is usually crisp and clean in any season, so please pack for all weather conditions. A snow storm could arrive any time and some years they hit mid summer. High winds are frequent at high altitudes.

The property was aptly named in 1901 and the landscape remains natural with a diverse variety of wild life dropping by for a drink from the dam. A walk along the top of the range shows sweeping views of the plains below, across into Victoria's high country. All linen, toiletries and firewood is provided. The windmill farms of Bombala can be seen from the property and it is a cute town to look for platypus if you feel like a drive.

Lola;s loft is ideal for a romantic weekend with someone special any time of the year. Most nights are cold enough to light the fire. The loft is large enough for a small family or friends with the open loft room upstairs. Foxtel with the movies and entertainment channels is on just in case the weather keeps you indoors. A favourite activity is to star gaze out of the loft roof window from bed at night. Have a BBQ outside or sit on the deck with a wine and cheese. The pace is yours to set.

BEDDING: A private queen bedroom is downstairs. The open loft area upstairs has a double and one single bed. An extra trundle with a great mattress is available if you require it. The house is suited to a maximum of 4 adults, but 5 can be accommodated with the use of a trundle.

The area highlights for exploring are: visiting the local Wild Brumby Distillery for freshly made schnapps, then off to the local biscuit factory, Snowy Mountain Cookies. Perhaps the winery and local restaurants. Perisher and Thredbo for a ski, board or bike and in summer a swim and fly fish. You could try you luck gold panning in the snowy river.

Pet Friendly:

If you want to bring your pets, they normally love holidays too. A mid size dog kennel sits under the cover of the patio. Dogs enjoy the fun things to smell and extra space to run around and explore. A dogs delight! Even the old dogs do a happy dance on arrival. Please bring your own pet bedding. The loft has its own fence line within the larger property to keep dogs secure and separate from other farm animals. Please let me know if you are bringing a pet.

Feel free to ask if you have any questions, I am happy to help if I can. We really hope you have a wonderful time in the Australian Snowy Mountains.

Perfect peaceful property

  • 5 of 5

Stayed for 4 days with my wife, a friend, and our dog, property was perfect, so peaceful and quiet, just outside the fence there were lots of kangaroos and wallabies about with their little joeys, wombats too if you're up for a evening walk with torches.

Couldn't think of of anywhere better, thanks for letting us stay, looking forward to returning (actually planning it now!)

Perfect and picturesque

  • 5 of 5

Lyndall welcomed my family and I from the moment we arrived. The farm house had been prewarmed for our comfort and a lovely note greeted us at the door.

Everything was supplied, towels, pillows, firewood etc. basic condiments, anything you could need. Very warm and peaceful. Cosy and homely. Wish we had time to stay on for longer.

Wildlife and country air. Wonderful accomodation- will rent again. Thank you

Top Of The World

  • 5 of 5

Secluded setting at the top of the snowy mountain with panoramic view of the alps and valleys.

Stunning chalet nestles within, complete a view at each window.

Little thoughtful touches in the chalet made us feel extra special.

Wildlife galore - Even our old dog has a new lease of life!

Snow just made our trip unforgettable!

Amazing property

  • 5 of 5

We had a brilliant time here, this place was chosen for the fact that it was pet friendly and at a higher elevation than other properties we looked at for the chance of getting snow. We were lucky this year was a good year for snow. The wildlife was really lovely and the cabin itself was great.

Best Accomodation in Jindabyne

  • 5 of 5

Such amazing accomodation! The view is incredible and the house has everything you could possibly need. Not too far out of town it's a beautiful drive to the snowfields. Also the fire is so nice and toasty we were not cold at all!! A few of us have stayed in Jindy many times before and we all agreed this was the nicest spot we have been too. We most definitely will book here again next season!!
