Walking onto the grounds and through the gardens, you will feel transported to a country garden but only steps to all the great restaurants and shops.

Just to let you know we checked out an hour ago, we had a wonderful stay. By the way, in the patio in one of the branches there is a hummingbirds nest in which we saw and witnessed the hatching of two eggs this week, thisnisna picture of the two babies sleeping in their nest. Mamma bird was out. It was interesting watching their progress this week. You may want to remind the gardener that they are there so he doesn't clip any branches. Lastly, We used the bq once but didn't know how to empty the ashes, so I left them, but in return we left you the lighter fuel for the charcoal. Thanks again for everything, and the wonderful soap you had in the bathroom, and of course the most wonderful linen in the world. (note: the guest attached photos of the nest and eggs and the new born hummingbirds which I have posted on the photos).
We LOVED staying at the cottage. I was a little concerned at first when I google mapped the location as I thought we may hear traffic or people walking by but we never heard anything. You can't beat the location. Very nice area with shops and restaurants right outside your door. The cottage itself was very comfy and had everything we needed. We stay again for sure.
We very much enjoyed our stay at cottage 2 and it could not have been more convenient. We were walking distance to everything we needed: Groceries, restaurants, shopping, and the beach. The cottage neighborhood and cottage was very quiet at night. A real bonus was the garage and it appeared that the other cottages had designated parking. Street parking is at premium in the area. Also included was a street parking pass which was helpful when our daughter came to see us (our primary reason for our stay). The one and only downside is that we encountered some unseasonably hot and humid weather and the cottage is not air conditioned. Plenty of fans were provided but there were a couple of sticky evenings. Aside from that, I'd say it was great experience. Owner Evelyn was very accommodating and I'd feel comfortable staying at any of her properties.
We recently returned from a wonderful 5 night stay at this adorable cottage. It lived up to all the reviews, and the location couldn't have been better! One block off Montana, where the best shops and restaurants can be found.
The kitchen was well equipped with everything you would need, free WiFi, and satellite tv with premium channels.
Another bonus was a garage. However we rented a compact car, and it barely fit.
Better than a hotel at any price!
My sister and I went to SM for a weekend staycay. Evelyn's cottages are within blocks of the beach, restaurants, boutiques, Whole Foods, Starbucks, any personal service you could possibly want. The cottage is like walking into your own home, it's comfortable, cozy, quaint, and the bed linen was far better than most hotels! Perfect place for a singe or couple. Evelyn was very accommodating and allowed an earlier check in, also. We will surely return.
Evelyns' cottage is a great location. Walking distance to great restaurants on Montana. The charcoal weber grill on the patio is a wonderful amenity. The living accomadations are clean and decorated nicely. I will be staying here again!!
wonderful cottage! as soon as you walk in it's so inviting. It was perfect for two people. The gardens in the front is a forerunner of what your experience will be. The furniture is tastefully arranged. I was a little concerned about the lack of air conditioning, but with the windows open it was quite pleasant during the night. The location if perfect. The cottage is a stone's throw from Montana Ave. Excellent shopping district. It's only a short walk to the ocean. We drove to the farmer's market, but it was only a five minute drive. Highly recommend this cottage.
