Large bright and cozy studio apartment adjacent to everything Hollywood.
Our cozy, comfortable studio is nestled in the corner on the second story of our two building apartment complex in the Hollywood Hills. El Cerrito means "little hill" and it is the perfect segway from Hollywood Blvd into the Hills. We are close enough for you to walk and enjoy the the activity on the Blvd but far enough from it to settle into a peaceful evening.
As husband/wife owners/managers on site, we are here to welcome and assist you.The building has 26 units. We have family in three units and the rest are rented to a wonderful mix of thoughtful, considerate professionals, making it a great community in the heart of Hollywood. Private stairs lead up to studio and to our unit. Laundry facilities are on site. There is covered/gated parking for one car . Two outdoor garden seating areas in the lush greenery of our front patio and two cafe tables and chairs along the walkways. Lemons galore when our tree is in bloom.
Ambiance: Because we live in the building, as do our two daughters and spouses, it is our home and we want all of our tenants and guests to feel like it is their home also. We strive for a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
Neighbors: We are adjacent to residential homes in Outpost Estates where many stars live. Tour buses stop next door to us (hoping for a star sighting of our neighbor) and in the area while pointing out celebrity homes and the neighborhood is full of interesting winding streets and homes in the hills of Hollywood.
We are walking distance to the heart of Hollywood and environs! Three blocks to Hollywood Blvd, the TLC Chinese theatre (formerly Grauman's), El Capitan, and the Dolby Theatre (formerly the Kodak and where the Oscars are held.) For summer visitors, the Hollywood Bowl is a 15 minute walk.
Start your day with a two block walk to Runyon Canyon where you can join the many daily hikers and their dogs climbing various routes up the Canyon to Mulholland Drive. If you are star savvy, you might spot some among the hikers and hidden behind sunglasses and baseball caps. What a wonderful mountain oasis right in the city! Return to the studio to prepare for further exploration, either in Hollywood or the many interesting places in LA via your rental car, walking feet, the Metro, Uber or Lyft.
After an overload of adventure, return to a quiet retreat in the hills for some R&R and then head back down to the Blvd.at night for restaurants, clubs, movies, strolling or go over to Sunset Blvd for more of the same.
Two blocks down from the apartment you'll find a CVS pharmacy (corner of Hollywood and Sycamore). Four blocks down and two blocks west, you'll find a Ralph's supermarket open 24 hours. On every corner you'll find a Starbucks. We prefer our coffee from Tiago, two blocks down on Hollywood at La Brea. We also like Pink Pepper for Thai, Roubo's Place for Armenian, Le Balcon for Russian cakes and Mashti Malone's for ice cream. All are on La Brea between Hollywood and Sunset. Oh, and good street tacos from the truck in the bakery/ice cream parking lot.
Our daughter owns and runs LA Urban Adventures. They give small, interesting tours in and around LA and if you book with us you will receive 10% off their tours.
People from the US as well as many international guests have stayed with us for a variety of reasons; to visit family members, see newborn grandkids, attend conferences, time out from relationships, see the allure of Hollywood and stars, attend TV tapings and studios and other. We hope to include you in those satisfied guests!

About Pamela Davis
We are husband and wife and raised four children in another part of LA but got into acquiring apartments in the 80's. Hollywood seemed like a good option. We moved into one of the apartments in 2001 which made it easier to renovate, being on site. Our two daughters and husbands and our first grandchild live in the building also. Pam's parents met at the corner of Hollywood and Highland in 1940 and family members were active in the music business.
Pamela Davis purchased this Apartment in 1985
Why Pamela Davis chose Hollywood Hills
A friend invited us to join him in purchasing the property. It was classic for LA and appeared to have much potential charm. Considerable renovation over the years and our adult children moving in have now made it our home and as our tenants also say 'It is not an apartment, it is a home!'
What makes this Apartment unique
Location, location, location! We can get to airports, cultural events, restaurants, clubs, movies and a plethora of activities via foot, metro or car. The creative process keeps this area alive.

What A Wonderful Surprise!
Knowing that we would be on the same block with our family that we were visiting was magnificent! However, walking into "our little cottage style" apartment was fabulous. Everything was fresh and ready for our welcome. The bed, bathroom, kitchen and television all perfect. Convenience to the max! I needed extra cooking ingredients for Easter and I found them already available in the cabinet! Who would believe that! The bathroom was fit for a gal that needed a "break" just to relax n unwind in a "fit for a Queen" tub and spa! Don't forget the husbands....comfy bed, every TV station he wanted, including some of his fav snacks. What more does a man need, other than his "happy spa lady" very happy!
Usually with these types of rentals you leave thinking 'this or that could have been better', but we can't think of anything that could have been better. Cheers to our fabulous host, Pam & Craig!
Thank you so very much for a wonderful rental experience at the our "cottage across the street"! Fondly, Anthony & Lynne
What a glowing review! I may have to schedule time in the “cottage “ for a break!
We are delighted you were so pleased and so close to family and had all your needs and more met. Come back anytime.

Roomy, clean, safe, and convenient space—with character and hosts who were the best!
We were looking for a space near friends so the neighborhood was important, but this studio apartment was also conveniently located for exploring Hollywood and its environs. Near Runyon Park and hiking trails as well. Pam and Craig, who run the apartment complex went out of their way to accommodate us and make us feel welcome. The studio was spacious for two and clean and comfortable. Having the kitchen was convenient, although we didn’t use it much. Sweet Retreat was a wonderful place and perfect for our needs!
How thoughtful and generous with your review. Our interludes were short but sweet! We are happy you enjoyed your stay and look forward to your next visit.
Great place, great location, great owners!
Great place in a great location. The owners are very hands on, and obviously care about the property. I was a ridiculously high-maintenance guest, inexplicably, and they were courteous, professional and helpful throughout. Highly recommend.
Thank you John for your kind words and recommendation. The parking mishap still brings us a smile. How ironic that gates were opened at the same time! The studio was left in great condition and we were hardly aware that you were there most of the time. High maintenance would be over stated. Our house rules are for the benefit of everyone as we try to provide the best environment for those living here and those visiting. We wish you the best in your future HomeAway visits.
Great venue for exploring Hollywood!
Thoroughly enjoyed our 4-night stay in Hollywood Hills - ideally situated just far enough away from the antics of Hollywood Blvd, but close enough to walk to many of the attractions Hollywood has to offer.
Nicely appointed apartment (basket of goodies on arrival a pleasant surprise), very clean and private. The gated garage was a definite plus, as was the close proximity to Runyon Canyon. Hosts Pam and Craig were very attentive, offering informative, helpful insight and advice.
This studio is located in the perfect spot. Close to sights, but quiet and safe. Pam and Craig are so hospitable and thoughtful.
I will absolutely stay here again.
Beautiful studio apartment in Hollywood Hills
The property was immaculate; the owners were onsite and extremely helpful and knowledgeable; and we enjoyed our stay immensely. A five-star experience!
Thank you for choosing to stay with us in the Hollywood Hills! We enjoyed meeting you and chatting about various things, including using Uber and Lyft to get around LA. Even though you had a rental car, it is good to know that those other options are always available here.
Thank you for the five star listing also. We appreciate knowing that our HomeAway offering is valuable.
