Our cozy, comfortable studio is nestled in the corner on the second story of our two building apartment complex in the Hollywood Hills. El Cerrito means "little hill" and it is the perfect segway from Hollywood Blvd into the Hills. We are close enough for you to walk and enjoy the the activity on the Blvd but far enough from it to settle into a peaceful evening.
As husband/wife owners/managers on site, we are here to welcome and assist you.The building has 26 units. We have family in three units and the rest are rented to a wonderful mix of thoughtful, considerate professionals, making it a great community in the heart of Hollywood. Private stairs lead up to studio and to our unit. Laundry facilities are on site. There is covered/gated parking for one car . Two outdoor garden seating areas in the lush greenery of our front patio and two cafe tables and chairs along the walkways. Lemons galore when our tree is in bloom.
Ambiance: Because we live in the building, as do our two daughters and spouses, it is our home and we want all of our tenants and guests to feel like it is their home also. We strive for a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
Neighbors: We are adjacent to residential homes in Outpost Estates where many stars live. Tour buses stop next door to us (hoping for a star sighting of our neighbor) and in the area while pointing out celebrity homes and the neighborhood is full of interesting winding streets and homes in the hills of Hollywood.
We are walking distance to the heart of Hollywood and environs! Three blocks to Hollywood Blvd, the TLC Chinese theatre (formerly Grauman's), El Capitan, and the Dolby Theatre (formerly the Kodak and where the Oscars are held.) For summer visitors, the Hollywood Bowl is a 15 minute walk.
Start your day with a two block walk to Runyon Canyon where you can join the many daily hikers and their dogs climbing various routes up the Canyon to Mulholland Drive. If you are star savvy, you might spot some among the hikers and hidden behind sunglasses and baseball caps. What a wonderful mountain oasis right in the city! Return to the studio to prepare for further exploration, either in Hollywood or the many interesting places in LA via your rental car, walking feet, the Metro, Uber or Lyft.
After an overload of adventure, return to a quiet retreat in the hills for some R&R and then head back down to the Blvd.at night for restaurants, clubs, movies, strolling or go over to Sunset Blvd for more of the same.
Two blocks down from the apartment you'll find a CVS pharmacy (corner of Hollywood and Sycamore). Four blocks down and two blocks west, you'll find a Ralph's supermarket open 24 hours. On every corner you'll find a Starbucks. We prefer our coffee from Tiago, two blocks down on Hollywood at La Brea. We also like Pink Pepper for Thai, Roubo's Place for Armenian, Le Balcon for Russian cakes and Mashti Malone's for ice cream. All are on La Brea between Hollywood and Sunset. Oh, and good street tacos from the truck in the bakery/ice cream parking lot.
Our daughter owns and runs LA Urban Adventures. They give small, interesting tours in and around LA and if you book with us you will receive 10% off their tours.
People from the US as well as many international guests have stayed with us for a variety of reasons; to visit family members, see newborn grandkids, attend conferences, time out from relationships, see the allure of Hollywood and stars, attend TV tapings and studios and other. We hope to include you in those satisfied guests!
We are husband and wife and raised four children in another part of LA but got into acquiring apartments in the 80's. Hollywood seemed like a good option. We moved into one of the apartments in 2001 which made it easier to renovate, being on site. Our two daughters and husbands and our first grandchild live in the building also. Pam's parents met at the corner of Hollywood and Highland in 1940 and family members were active in the music business.
Pamela Davis purchased this apartment in 1985
A friend invited us to join him in purchasing the property. It was classic for LA and appeared to have much potential charm. Considerable renovation over the years and our adult children moving in have now made it our home and as our tenants also say 'It is not an apartment, it is a home!'
Location, location, location! We can get to airports, cultural events, restaurants, clubs, movies and a plethora of activities via foot, metro or car. The creative process keeps this area alive.
Sorry this review is so delayed Pam!!!!
Chris and I stayed in July last year and we lovvvvvvvvvved it! Pam and Craig were ever so helpful and it was lovely bumping into them throughout our stay. The apartment is on the cutest tree lined street. I was a little worried about booking in Hollywood, just thinking it may be a rough area. But where Pam and Craig's apartment is you won't think that at all! They are on such a pretty and quiet street behind hollywood and SO close to Runyon canyon which we loved and often hiked. It's a very residential area, surrounded by many other great houses. We walked a few streets up behind the apartment (we wanted to check out where the rich live) and you start to get some amazing views of LA.
The location is perfect as it's only a few minute walk to Hollywood and highland, walk of fame, Starbucks etc etc. in & out isn't far too!! Yummmmm.
The apartment itself had everything you needed. Everything! And if there was something that wasn't there, Pam and Craig were just a door knock away. The laundry was close by and easy to use.
And we were greeted with DELICIOUS chocolates which Pam got us. They disappeared in a few seconds.
This was a perfect end to our trip. It's just such a cosy and welcoming apartment. It's exactly like the pictures, maybe even better.
We look forward to seeing you both next time we are in Hollywood :)
Clean and nice! Very Close to everything. Good parking spot. Nice owners and very helpful.

Cant wait to get back to LA! This apartment was awesome! Its location is perfect- quiet residential neighborhood and walking distance to Hollywood Blvd, Runyon Canyon, restaurants/bars. Very clean place. Everything you need is there, including beach bag with towels and sunblock for a day at the beach. My husband and I stayed here for 3 days for our anniversary and was greeted with wine and chocolates! Pam and Craig are the most gracious and sweetest hosts. We will definitely stay here again. We are already planning our trip out here next summer with our boys. Thanks again for everything...We had a great time!!
We stayed for 4 nights and it was very comfortable for the 3 of us. Clean and newly remodeled. Bigger than a hotel room, with a new bathroom and a kitchen that was perfect making breakfast every day. Definitely worth it.
My sister, mother and I stayed here for a week while visiting California. The apartment is clean, beautiful and the owners are very friendly and easy to deal with. The location is ideal - walking distance to Hollywood Boulevard and a short drive to other tourist attractions. Would definitely recommend anyone to stay here!
Very cute clean place and in walking distance to everything in Hollywood! Would stay here again.
