Great for big groups

  • 4 of 5

We had a group of 8 young families stay at Forgotten Valley Retreat for a long weekend. The facilities were great, they set up the rooms as we asked with king/twin beds. Lots of spaces to hang out, the kids loved the lawn, though lots of open water features (ponds) meant we had to be vigilant in supervision. The kitchens were good and we easily self catered, though we couldn’t find a couple of small items but having lots of dishwashers was fantastic.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay

Fantastic accommodation!

  • 5 of 5

The Retreat is far beyond what we had expected. Set in large grounds in a perfect location, The Forgotten Valley Retreat offered large country cottages and many communial areas.

Ali was really helpful throughout the booking process and we would certainly return again. Thanks so much. A beautiful place to stay.

Great location

  • 3 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, rooms were comfy, enough bathrooms for everyone, great outside areas for get togethers, needed lighter for stove and BBQ

But everything other thing was supplied, great weekend

Poor facilities

  • 2 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at Forgotten Valley, however there were few issues with the facilities that made it difficult. For example, the AC in the lounge room was terrible, the kettle was not working, there were not enough utensils in the kitchen ( e.g. no frying pans to cook our eggs) and they could do with purchasing a new BBQ.

Owner's Response: As the booking was in September and its now January , we are always upgrading our facilities . There are four cottages and from time to time the utensils do get moved around the cottages when large groups are booked in . So yes we do have fry pans , and all the kettles work , we have had two new BBQ upgraded last year out of the four we have on site , we would have been happy to deliver a new one upon your stay .

Great getaway

  • 5 of 5

Great tranquil location with plenty of space for walks and kids to run around. Rooms and bathrooms all well maintained and exactly as they say: only toiletries required. Extended family from 2-50+ ages all enjoyed it. Close to town.

On behalf of our entire family group, we would like to say a big 'Thank You' for the opportunity of staying in the beautifully appointed and comfortable accommodation at both Dreamtime and Enchantment Cottage last weekend. Both homes suited our family grouping perfectly. We had a fantastic family reunion. Everybody enjoyed their stay in their respective homes, as well as the facilities in Dreamtime where we held our main family dinner. We also had opportunity to show our interstate relative the highlights of the Hawks bury River too.Wisemans ferry is a great location. I trust we were quiet for the neighbors We'd all love to return!
