Secluded adobe home and casita in the heart of the Eastside.

Bedrooms 5
Space 4,300 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 4 - 6 nights

About the property

3 bdrm/3 bath main house and attached 2 bdrm guest house with shared bath

This comfortable and roomy adobe home is ideal for a group of friends or a large family. It is located at the end of a secluded dead-end street with lovely private gardens, outdoor eating areas with views toward the mountains. This is a real oasis located about 1/2 way between the Plaza and Museum Hill in the historic Eastside.

The main house has 3 large bedrooms (king, queen and two twins) each with their own bath and fireplace. The attached guest house is a two bedroom that sleeps 4, but only has one bath that must be shared. This guest house is very comfortable with its own kitchen, private entry and separate garden. There is access between the main house and guest house if desired, or they can be kept separate.

This is a unique and beautiful home with historic significance. It is tastefully decorated and has an open feel with the touches that are typical of older adobe homes like plaster walls, nichos, wooden-beamed ceilings and a kiva fireplace in every room.

You will have a feeling of old Santa Fe, but the home has all the modern conveniences as the result of an extensive remodel in 2011. The beds and linens are top quality and new. All of the appliances in the main house are new and the home has all the amenities like wireless internet and premium cable TV. The home decor is a blend of our Southwest roots (I'm from California and Jane is from south Texas). Many things come Thailand where I work as a geologist and we lived until late 2017. Jane is an artist and most of the artwork on the walls are naturally her own. The home is comfortable in all seasons with radiant heating and evaporative cooling (for a touch of humidity).

This house is a unique property in the heart of Santa Fe's Historic Eastside. We are proud to share this home and know you'll like it as much as we do.

About Scott Wong

We are two new "empty nesters" looking forward to living permanently in our Santa Fe home. For the next few years we will open up our house to guests during the times we can't be there ourselves. We've recently returned to the USA after living in Thailand for almost 11 years and we're excited to be closer to family and friends.

Wonderful place for our family Thanksgiving!

  • 5 of 5

Casa Nova was the perfect setup for our holiday get together. We had 11 people present, which consisted of two couples with a small child, two couples and one single individual. There was plenty of room. The two kitchens are preparing our Thanksgiving meal much easier. We all appreciated the decor of the house and the landscaping in the garden. We would definitely look into renting Casa Nova again, in the future.

Beautifully situated and beautifully appointed.

  • 4 of 5

Had a terrific stay of four days with six other high school buddies of some 50 years ago. The location and grounds were excellent, especially enjoyed the outdoor patio and fire pit. One problem was the TV -- it had no sound, no matter what we tried. A call to the management contact for help was not returned. So we watched football without sound. Not the end of the world, but the reason for a "four" rather than a "five" rating.

Owner's Response: I completely understand your frustration and apologize for the lack of TV sound. Scott normally responds quickly to any calls so I'm sorry you were unable to reach him. Things are easy when you know how, but in this case the living-room TV set up with stereo speakers, iPhone dock and an Apple computer is a bit more complicated than most homes. I added an entire page to the house manual that explains the set-up for this reason. If you had problems, then I'm sure others did too. We will simplify the system so there is just a cable TV box and a TV in the living room and I'll move the computer to the sitting room off the Master bedroom. We want our guests to be comfortable at our home just like it was their own. Roger

An amazing place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

We loved everything about this house and property. The photos don't do it justice. It was perfectly appointed and beautifully decorated, inside and out. And the yard is truly stunning.

We were there for a family trip with multiple generations and 2 small children and it was enjoyed by all. We spent most of our mornings and several evenings outside just chasing the kids around and enjoying the views, the grill and the fire pit. The bedrooms and living areas were all spacious, clean and comfortable. And the location was wonderful - very conveniently located to the Plaza, the Railyards, Canyon Road and Museum Hill, but also just tucked away enough to feel like a retreat.

The hosts were lovely to communicate with and very accommodating, not that we lacked for anything - everything was well thought out and the house guide was thorough. We would love to stay here again if we're ever back in Santa Fe.

Beautiful gardens and wonderful home

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay, which included three generations of family. Having the casita for the one year old to take naps was perfect. The baby monitor worked between the main house and casita, giving baby quiet away from our hustle. Scott was a great manager, responding to the repairs needed during our stay. The grand children loved the backyard filled with butterflies and we had s'mores around the fire pit. We think the prior renters were a bit hard on this beautiful home. Scott managed to bring people in to repair it back to it's glory before we left.

Great location, clean, beautiful bathrooms and kitchen and well stocked. Loved having outdoor area. We had 8 folks total - kids and adults and had more than enough room. Perfect balance of modern comfort and amenities but decor that says Santa Fe all the way. Loved!!!

Our house is located exactly 1 mile from the downtown Plaza and closer to Canyon Road. It is an easy walk for most people in good physical condition, but the altitude (the elevation at our house is 7200') makes it harder to catch your breath if you aren't acclimated. The elevation at the plaza is 6955'. This 245' difference is about the same that you experience walking up Canyon Road to visit the art galleries. If you go slowly the walk will take you 30 minutes downhill and 45 minutes to return...well worth the time. When my parents visit (early 80's), they walk downhill from the house to the Plaza and we pick them up near Loretta Chapel.
