We so enjoyed ourselves at this beautiful property. It is the perfect holiday house with all the comforts you can ask for. We sat by the fire and watched the wildlife outside. The pantry was well stocked with all the basics so we had no problems preparing our gourmet meals to accompany our Tassie wines! The children loved the tree swing outside and were just as happy lazing by the fire with games and DVD!
Thanks, Jan for your hospitality!
Must be one of if not the best property we have stayed at so far! Whether sunshine or rainy this house was perfect!
The house was cozy on those cold rainy days and great to open up and enjoy the sun on the deck.
We stayed with our 5 and 8 year old boys and they also absolutely loved the property and it catered well for them!
A Hidden Gem
Well accomodated with great location. Highly Recommended.
compared with other properties I have stayed at in this price bracket it does not match up, but does have great potential.
was very disappointed to see the open fire had been changed to a wood heater as if I had of known this prior I would not have booked this property, the open fire was one of the major reason I chose this property.
there was a terrible chemical smell when we first arrived and so we had to leave the doors open for the first hour or so as it was giving us a headache. this smell was in the house each time we returned during our stay.
wonderful touch with the fresh flowers left and the coffee pods and coffee machine where a life saver.
The caretaker turning up and hanging around out the front before checkout time while we packed up was very disconcerting too and made us feel incredibly uncomfortable.
this property has great potential but is overpriced for what is offered in comparison to other properties in this price bracket.
wonderful view and if you have children it would be lovely (apart from the smell).
Hi Nigel, I'm so disappointed to hear that Adventure Bay Retreat did not meet your expectations. We have a focus on energy sustainability and after a recent review our open wood fire was not meeting our requirements and we found that by installing a wood fire, this would reduce the amount of firewood by almost half but increase the production of heat significantly. The wood fire has recently been installed. I have gone back and looked at our wording on our website and I totally agree with your thoughts and I will change the text to accurately describe the heating source. My apologies. I have no idea what the 'chemical smell' could be, we use eco friendly (Tasmanian made) cleaning products. I have followed up with current guests and no one has noticed any similar smells. I will continue to follow up on this one! The large building to the right of The Lodge is our storage area and where the laundry facilities ie washing machines are kept. Our cleaning/managing staff often access this area prior to guests checking out to restock ect. I will make sure this information is more prominent in our house information. I'm so sorry their presence made you feel uncomfortable. We do strive for excellence and take your feed back seriously. Thank you Jan Glover Adventure Bay Retreat
