About Sara Gingerich
My husband Matt and I have owned the cabin since April 2006. We have spent many long lazy days here during all seasons. Whether its warm summer days cooling off on the deck, or brisk fall breezes staying warm by the fire pit, or knee deep in a winter wonderland... the cabin has brought us many fond memories, and we hope it will bring you and yours good times as well.
Sara Gingerich purchased this Cabin in 2004
Why Sara Gingerich chose Paradise Estates
My husband and I love Mt Rainier. It is such a calm peaceful place with tons to do. We wanted to have a cabin close to this wonderful national park. The cabin makes you feel like your part of the great outdoors adventure!
What makes this Cabin unique
The quiet, private intimate moments that can be shared here at our Mt Rainier Couples cabin is truly unique. Nothing as comforting as being around so much beauty and nature.

Was very good get away, enjoyed the no phone service and the bar and grill up the street had the best burgers
Thank you so much for your review. So glad you enjoyed your time at the cabin.
Basic cabin, great location
This cabin is what is advertised. There is NO internet or cell service unless you drive 6 miles to town and use the free connection at one of the restaurants. Fine. But it caused us to go from our check-in day, Sept. 12 until about 6:30 in the morning on our check-out day, Sept. 14 with one washcloth and one hand towel in the bathroom. Delays and absence of cell phone or email were the cause. We spent the entire day on the 13th at Mt. Rainier National Park, which also does not have a connection. My husband used the hair dryer after his shower. Also, do not arrive before 4 pm for your check-in. We got there at 3:00 to see the dirty pile of bathroom towels and an unmade bed. The only response after driving to town to email Sara? "Check in is 4 pm." Well, gee, I thought there may have been a mix-up with the dates or perhaps the housekeeper had a health problem or something? We returned at 5:00 to see the bed made and the dirty towels gone, but no clean towels, other than the washcloth and hand towel that were there at 3:00. Then, we were finally able to send an email to Sara about the towels at dinner on the 13th. Thus, the porch delivery of towels at 6:30 am on the 14th. The ability to use our cell phone or send an email would have solved the whole thing very quickly.
Lovely, quiet, cozy retreat that is perfect for romance!
My sweetie and I really loved staying here. I usually stay at a different cabin in this same housing development (which does not feel like a "housing development"), but it was booked, so I tried this instead. It is very small and cozy which was perfect for us, but would not be good if you aren't really close with your travel partner!
We spent our days hiking on Rainier, so weren't actually in the cabin for very long. We also didn't eat any meals in the cabin as we love a couple of the restaurants in Ashford, but it's perfectly set up to cook. The bed is very comfortable, but on a slight slant so I kept rolling into my sweetie. I have a Tempurpedic bed at home, so it wasn't the bed, but rather an actual slight incline. We are light weight people and still noticed this.
We LOVED the decor of bears and moose and the cabin was extremely clean and well cared for. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and I feel very fortunate that we found this little gem near my beloved Mt. Rainier!
The cabin contains no amenities so if you want coffee or condiments or soap in the shower, bring your own! Also there is no internet or TV and very limited phone coverage except right in the main town part of Ashford, so keep that in mind. We didn't care, but some might not like being completely unreachable.
Thank you so much. Very happy you enjoyed your stay at our Couples Cabin just minutes from Mt Rainier National Park.
this property was so-so
We came back after one night (though we reserved it for 3 nights).
My wife had strong allergic reaction to something in the cabin, leading to strong coughing. It could be dust behind the large number of decorations in the cabin but we are not sure.
In any event, we decided to abort the vacation.
The cabin always has great feedback on it being clean and in order. My cleaning staff does an excellent job on keeping the cabin clean for guests. Unfortunately being in the deep woods so close to Mt Rainier National Park those who are allergy sensitive could have issues with any number of outdoor and seasonal allergens. The cabin is surrounded by Forrest, wildlife, and very much like any state park the cabin grounds are kept natural and just maintained enough for functionality. This cabin is the perfect place for anyone wanting to be close to the NP and surrounded by nature.
Exactly as advertised
This cozy cabin was exactly as expected. If in your mind "cozy" means "cramped", this isn't the place for you, but for us it was perfect. The kitchen had the basics for cooking, although having only a small cast iron fry pan wasn't ideal. We had to cut the bacon in half to cook even one piece. Don't expect anything not listed; there is a stove but no oven, just as advertised. They had dish soap and hand soap, but bring your own spray for the skillet if you want to fry eggs. The bed was large and comfy even for my 300+ pound body. The table was adequate for eating and for playing games. The carpet was loose and gave me ample opportunity to trip myself, which I did more than once.
Because of a burn ban we couldn't use the fire pit, but not to worry. There was a campground half a mile away within the national forest where the ban didn't apply, and we rented a spot one night so we could roast hot dogs and make smore's.
While there are always a few things one could nitpick about, the cabin met our expectations. It was a great spot for this older couple to celebrate our first anniversary!
The cabin is the embodiment of cozy charm and practicle. We keep things simple and easy. Being only a few miles from Mt Rainier National park it is the ideal place for couples to hang their hats and relax after a day exploring the amazing national park.
Close to Mt. Rainier, comfortable
I can't believe no one has commented on the Tempurpedic bed yet! After a long day of hiking, it was so nice to know we were going to get great sleep.
The cabin is small, but had everything you need to make simple meals for hiking and exploring Mt. Rainier; it was also very close to the park entrance.
All in all, a great place!
Thank you for your review. We agree the Tempurpedic Cali bed King Bed is a delight at the end of day adventures in Mt Rainier National Park. The park is so close to the cabin, making it easy and comfortable. All guests please keep in mind. This is a couples cabin. We designed it with intimacy in mind and with practical get-away-from-it-all ease. #renew #relax #rest
