My husband Matt and I have owned the cabin since April 2006. We have spent many long lazy days here during all seasons. Whether its warm summer days cooling off on the deck, or brisk fall breezes staying warm by the fire pit, or knee deep in a winter wonderland... the cabin has brought us many fond memories, and we hope it will bring you and yours good times as well.
Sara Gingerich purchased this cabin in 2004
My husband and I love Mt Rainier. It is such a calm peaceful place with tons to do. We wanted to have a cabin close to this wonderful national park. The cabin makes you feel like your part of the great outdoors adventure!
The quiet, private intimate moments that can be shared here at our Mt Rainier Couples cabin is truly unique. Nothing as comforting as being around so much beauty and nature.
My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at this cabin. The cabin was comfortable, clean, and very functional for all our needs. We were so happy that the cabin was located off the highway yet close to the national park. The drive over the river to the cabin is just gorgeous! The trees on the property were just beautiful (older growth). We really enjoyed the lake that was a short walking distance from the cabin. We will be back soon.
My lady friend had a terrible allergy reaction the whole three days we were at the cabin. You could tell that the
carpet was real old as well as the sofa that no doubt set off her allergy's. Best to avoid if you have allergy's.
The name says it all. It truly is a couples retreat in the middle of paradise.
At first the cabin seemed too small, but then you slowly realize that its just the perfect size for a couple. Tastefully decorated and furnished this cabin along with the surrounding nature will make you forget about the outside world. The memory foam king size bed and a huge window in the bedroom will make you crave to wake up to the view, comfort and sounds of nature every single day.
Use the grocery store located in Morton about 25 miles from Ashford (get the map at the visitors center in Ashford) to stock up on food and necessities. General stores in Ashford don't have much choice, and overprices because of the location. Kitchen is fully stocked as mentioned in description, however we were unable to find a cutting board and I would suggest adding a good quality knife.
We came to stay in the cabin in mid march, when the temperature outside is perfect for hiking walking or just sitting comfortably outside on the deck during the day. However with night fall it gets cold in the cabin and unfortunately the heater wasn't kicking in to sustain a room temperature. Had to wake up in the middle of the night and reset the thermostat to sleep comfortably. We ve also used a pellet stove which provided some additional heat.
Another thing to mention is to watch where you park in the drive way. During a windy night we ve had a few decent size branches fall near our rental car. Thankfully there was no damage to the car.
Overall we were very satisfied with the cabin and would love to see it the place in the summer time when everything is green. Thank you for putting in time and effort to make this place as comfortable as possible!
The cabin was perfectly situated for a weekend of exploring Mount Rainier; it was very clean, warm and comfortable. We cooked every night so the well-equipped kitchen was much appreciated. It was easy to find and communication with the owner when booking was great. We would definitely return!
My boyfriend and I were very pleased with this place! It look EXACTLY like the pictures. All the decorations make it very charming and had the perfect "cabin in the woods" feel! We would want to give it 5 stars but only problem was that even though it had the "feel" of a cabin in the woods.... it really wasn't. Unfortunately the fireplace was not wood burning. That wouldn't of been that much of a problem considering the electrical heating worked very well..... until the power went out. So without ANY POWER the cabin was completely useless and very cold. AND there was only one emergency light. So as long as this place had power its very cozy and cute.
This cabin was perfect for a couple looking to get away from it all while still being very close to Mt. Rainier National Park. We absolutely loved the pellet stove and found the owner to be responsive to our questions upon arrival. The fire ring was nice for a quiet outside evening, and the deck provided a comfortable place to sit and have coffee in the morning. The bed was very comfortable and the cabin was just overall clean and quaint. Thanks for sharing this getaway with us! The cabin and national park were gorgeous!
Very cute, clean couple's cabin. The listing description is spot on....just a few miles from the entrance to the park. Located in a quiet peaceful neighborhood. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and the cabin was very clean and well-maintained. I would most definitely recommended the cabin and hope to return soon.
