Ouray Cabin Rental Photos and Description

House, 2 Bedrooms + Loft, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4-10)

Please note that the OURAY HOT SPRINGS POOL will be CLOSED from 9/6/2016 until May 2017 for a renovation project. You can read about the changes on the Ouray Chamber Resort Association website.

A cozy, log cabin nestled in the trees with the soothing sounds of the Uncompahgre River awaits you in Ouray, Colorado.

The home includes two bedrooms, one upstairs with a king and one on the main level with a double bed, two full bathrooms, and a loft with a queen bed and a queen-size futon. Additionally, there is a sleeper sofa in the living area.

Great views can be enjoyed from the front porch, where you can relax after a fun-filled day of adventure in the high country. The Riverview Cabin is within a mile of the Ouray Hot Springs Pool and Park, and downtown Ouray. If you like to walk, you can follow the Riverwalk Trail (just across the road) or walk along the back road.

Relax in the private yard area to enjoy the fresh mountain air. Best of all, though, is the invitation to sit on the large porch and watch the river flow by that is just across the road, and to leave the window open a bit and fall asleep to the sound of the river rushing by. You can enjoy a new Sony 40' LCD HDTV. There is also a WiFi provided. You won't want to miss the oft sited, in travel magazines, Ouray Hot Springs Pool, which is just a 1/4 mile walk away. Downtown Ouray's shops are just a short 1/2 mile walk away. The Riverview Cabin sits on 4 1/2 acres of mountainside, providing a degree of privacy and the opportunity to explore and view Ouray's beauty from a higher elevation.

The Riverview Cabin is a full log house, and has the reverse side of the logs as interior walls. It is truly a warm and inviting home, and we would love to have you as a guest.

Pets are welcome with payment of a non-refundable pet fee.

No smoking of any kind is permitted in this property.

About Pets: If you are booking online from VRBO and will be bringing more than one pet, please contact our office so that we can provide you with an accurate quote, and you will be able to book from your quote. You can also book more accurately from our website if you have more than one pet.

This property is managed by Ouray Vacation Rentals. We offer the largest selection of vacation rental properties in Ouray County!

ABOUT THE AREA: You will want to spend several days in beautiful Ouray County. Ouray, which is known as the 'Switzerland of America,' is nestled in a small valley with 360-degree views of 12,000-14,000 mountains. Ridgway, nicknamed the 'Gateway to the San Juans,' is just 10 miles from Ouray and is well-known as the place where the John Wayne movie 'True Grit' was filmed. Many of the movie set's buildings are still used today by local businesses. These two historic towns offer a variety of activities: restaurants, shops, museums, galleries, hot springs pools, jeep rentals, hiking, fishing and boating -- the list goes on and on! Day trips to Silverton, Telluride and Durango are fun as well.

Ouray is also often called 'The Jeeping Capital of the World' because of its many trails through the high country (rated easy to rugged), popular for 2-wheel and 4-wheel off road vehicles.

Golf is available at beautiful Divide Ranch Golf Club located on Log Hill Mesa just above Ridgway, offering panoramic mountain views. Telluride and Montrose also have golf courses.

Ouray and Ridgway both offer local markets, and you can find larger stores like City Market, Safeway, Target and Walmart in Montrose, a flat, easy drive 35 miles from Ouray, 25 miles from Ridgway.

No matter how long you decide to stay, you will find yourself wanting to come back again and again to Ouray County, one of the most beautiful places on earth!

Nice cabin but.

  • 3 of 5

The location was awesome. The home was well equipped and comfortable. The reason I gave it three stars is because it was infested with mice.

Owner's Response: We have recently experienced an influx of mice, and are working diligently to rid the house of them. We have enlisted a program with Orkin where they will come every other week to keep the mice out of the house, and our maintenance crew is visiting the house daily as well, to dispose of any that have gotten inside. In mountain homes that back up to the forest like this one does, it is always a challenge to keep out critters, but we are doing our best! We're pleased that you enjoyed the house, aside from the outside visitors.

Awesome stay

  • 5 of 5

Can't believe I haven't done a review yet. The house was everything and more. Enjoyed a wonderful stay with our kids, grandchildren and furry child. More than enough room for all. The upstairs was perfect for the grandchildren to spread out. And the management company answered all my questions. Will be back in 2017.

Great stay!

  • 5 of 5

The house was well equipped & only a half mile from the Main Street. It may be s out 2 miles from the hot springs pool. There is a beautiful walking trail right near the house too. The rental management company was very helpful.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your nice comments! Just for clarification for you and for future guests, the drive to the hot springs pool from the cabin is 1.2 miles, and it is one mile to the corner of 7th avenue and Main Street in the heart of downtown Ouray. For those who like to walk, you can take the RiverwalkTrail (just across the road from the cabin) or walk the road and cut across the bridge by the City shop, and it's only .4 miles that way (about 8-10 minutes). We're glad that you enjoyed your stay, and hope that we have the opportunity to have you as our guest again in the future!

Awesome place!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this cabin with our two teenage boys and small dog and absolutely loved it. Everything we could have wanted was provided. The master bedroom bed was so comfortable. You will love sleeping with the windows open and having the river lull you to sleep. This is our 3rd trip to Ouray and the first time at this cabin but we will definitely book this place again when we return. All the local shopping was just a short walk away which worked out perfectly. All in all, an excellent vacation!

Charming Mountain Vacation

  • 5 of 5

The last two Octobers spent in the Riverview Cabin have been delightful. Cozy yet plenty of room for family and dog, close to the many good restaurants and shops in Ouray and just up the hill from a spectacular and relaxing two mile hiking trail along the river, this cabin has everything we were looking for.

The owner is very easy to work with and accommodating in every way. You will find the town of Ouray to be very special and the people welcoming--a friendly western mountain village with every amenity you could want.

We will be back.

Owner's Response: Hi Chuck, Thanks so much for the great review. It is so nice when a guest, such as yourself, has such nice things to say - it makes us feel like all the improvements we have made and will continue to make are actually appreciate.
During this stay the property was under previous owner or management.
