About Jean Tulloch
I'm a gardener, bird watcher and nature lover, also into health and cooking. My husband Pete, an architect, designed this property as a home and office for our family, along with a granny flat for my mother, who lived with us for many years. She was a gardener too! Pete is into surfing, painting and drawing. We both love bushwalking, travel and reading. Now that our children have left home we enjoy sharing our location with guests. Their appreciation reminds us to keep noticing what a lovely environment we live in.
Jean Tulloch purchased this Apartment in 1996
Why Jean Tulloch chose Noosa Shire
We love living 5 minutes walk away from the Noosa National Park, where we do a brisk exercise circuit most days. This property is elevated enough to catch summer sea breezes so it's much cooler than other parts of the town. And adjoining a local park enlarges our garden backdrop without adding to our workload! Pete likes having lots of different beaches around Noosa - that way, there's usually somewhere to catch a wave, no matter which direction the wind blows from. We also enjoy the stimulation of living in Noosa, which hosts a wide range of sporting, community and cultural events for its size.
What makes this Apartment unique
The apartment was designed as a home, rather than a vacation property, so it's spacious and well equipped. Set a couple of streets back from the beachfront allows us and our guests to retreat from the holiday crowds into more serene, residential surroundings, while retaining an easily walkable distance to the ocean and the coffee shops, cafes and restaurants of Sunshine Beach village.

A very comfortable week.
The apartment was perfect for us. Clean, quiet and private with an excellent bed. We would have spent more time on the deck outside, which overlooked a park, had the weather been better! The owners, Jean and Pete, were very friendly and
helpful. It was an easy walk to the local shops, restaurants and the lovely beach. We would recommend Mooshka for excellent, reasonably priced food and friendly service. Also Gusto on the riverside. We enjoyed being in a residential area away from the large resort type accommodation.
Thank you for this informative review and restaurant tips, Barrie and Sue. Enjoyed our gardening chats!
Sunshine Beach Garden Retreat has a perfect location! Truly minutes ( walking) from restaurants, the beach, and the Noosa National park walking trails ....without all the hustle bustle of Noosa beach and the surrounding areas. The apartment was very private, comfortable and had everything we needed. It was clean with ample space to unpack and really relax. We spent 6 nights and could have stayed for much longer. The beach was beautiful. We enjoyed waking to all the bird sounds in the area. A true gem!
Mark and I had really relaxing time staying at Sunshine Beach Garden Retreat. I agree with the other reviewers that Jean (the owner) was extremely helpful during our stay. Jean is really friendly and happy to answer any questions. Our short stay was revitalising and great for body and soul. I really loved the apartment amongst nature but with nothing lacking in facilities. Loved the deck and garden area and the veggie patch so productive and healthy and this all looked out across the park. I would recommend to anyone wanting a different experience from hotels. Thank you Mark and Manjit Sanghera 5****
My partner and I had such a wonderful time away in this very aesthetically and energetically beautiful apartment. Jean (the owner) was extremely helpful, warm and friendly over the phone, via email and during our stay. Jean has a super friendly approach to all of your questions and anything else that you need to know or understand for your stay. Our short stay was not only refreshing and relaxing but was healing for the pysche, staying in a pretty apartment set among nature. From the lush garden and the park that follows. A place we would love to stay time and time again. Thank you again Jean. Kelly & Leigh
We had a very peaceful and relaxing short stay at the Garden Retreat, the unit is close to the beach and the village (5 minute walk) and situated on a quiet street backing onto a lovely park. It is clean and well kept, the bed is super comfy and we came away feeling refreshed with a bunch of fresh herbs from the garden courtesy of the owner, Jean. We would definitely recommend this beautiful property!
Sunshine Baech Surprise
Away from the maddening crowd but close enough to enjoy the perks of the Village and the beach. A nicely appointed self contained apartment perfect for a couple. We had a most enjoyable relaxing holiday in a wonderful leafy environment.
