Overview

Mariposa Chateau / Country House Rental Photos and Description

Mountain Views 3 bed 2 bath (sleeps max. 8 people)

Mariposa Ridge Retreat is a ten-acre hilltop home with panoramic views of the seasonal snow capped peaks in Yosemite and the quaint village below. Located just 1.5 miles outside of the historic Gold mining County seat of Mariposa, the 'Mother of California's Counties.' We are 38 miles from Yosemite National Park, and just ten minutes from the Merced River which winds along Highway 140 for 23 miles into the Park. One of the most scenic drives on the planet. Don't miss the river drive into YOSEMITE!

The home was built in 2005 and features a King Suite, a Queen bedroom and two full-size double beds in the third bedroom. There are extra twin futons & bedding for a small upcharge. There are two full baths. The master has a larger soaking tub. There is a 500 square foot deck with six foot circular HOT SPRINGS Spa overlooking the Mariposa Valley along with picnic table, umbrella and a charcoal barbecue. The water comes from a deep mountain well fed by year-round Sierra snowpack. Roam the ten hilltop acres along with deer and wild Sierra birds.

Bring your clothes and food (linens and towels are provided) and come home to peaceful mountain air and escape the rat race below. (Mariposa is the ONLY California County without a single Traffic Light!). PLEASE NOTE: Check-in at 3pm day of arrival and Check-out at 11 am. Be sure to visit our website for complete info.

Driving directions, parking instruction, home access information are given after full payment and picture ID is received. Our property information can be found at vrbo #90993. Call our business contact phone at (805)438-4444.

Wonderful place, great view.

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time using the comforts of Mariposa Ridge Retreat as a base for our visit to Yosemite. The drive to Yosemite is about 45 minutes but enjoyable. The home has everything you will need and is quite secluded. The deck has a great view from the top of the ridge and hot tub was very welcome after hiking all day. So many stars at night! The owners are great people.

A great place to stay with plenty of room, convenient location and awesome view!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I took our family of four boys and a girlfriend to stay for two nights so we could be close to Yosemite. We found the home warm and inviting, with plenty of room, a well stocked kitchen with all the right utensils and cookware. It was very clean and had plenty of pillows and blankets for everyone. The hot tub was amazing, and the view from the deck at night under the stars was breathtaking. Mariposa is just a short drive away with great restaurants and a grocery store to meet our needs. Thank you!

A lovely home with an amazing view!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here for four nights with two other couples and had a wonderful time! The home was clean, well stocked, beds comfortable and the view from the back deck was amazing. Mariposa Ridge is very private and the nights were very quiet and restful. The drive to Yosemite was about 45 minutes but the scenery along the way was well worth seeing. The town of Mariposa was charming and there are several wonderful restaurants and shops. All in all we had a great time staying here and I would recommend this rental to anyone!

We had a lovely three days at Mariposa. Although it took over an hour to drive to Yosemite it was such a great place to stay - clean, well kept, well resourced kitchen And lovely deck with BBQ and hot tub. The views were fabulous.

Great place to stay with an awesome view!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I had a great stay at this lovely home. It was about an hour drive to Yosemite and the drive is beautiful! The house was clean and comfortable and came with everything we needed. The hot tub was great after long days hiking in Yosemite. Had a good internet connection and Dish TV too. Loved watching the sun rise on the porch while enjoying our morning coffee. Had deer in the front yard one morning. Many good restaurants in town just a few minutes away. We ate at Happy Burger and at the 1850 Restaurant - both were VERY good. Grocery store in town with a great beer and wine selection. Also picked up donuts one morning at Donuts A Go Go - yum! The Lach's were very good at communicating with us and made our stay very satisfying. This was a great place to stay and I would highly recommend it.
