At 4500 feet, this comfortable and relaxing roundhouse offers wonderful long range, panoramic views all year round. Watch the sun rise over the mountains below or a rainbow encompass the mist in the valley. Enjoy the cool, refreshing summers, incredible fall colors, and all the winter sports.
Take advantage of the numerous nearby attractions and activities--Hawksnest snowtubing and zipline are within walking distance, and Grandfather Mnt and all ski resorts are minutes away. Or simply kick back at the house. Read a book or have a cup of coffee on either of the two decks. Unwind and tell stories by the fire pit. Play pool, ping-pong, or air hockey on the mini game table downstairs. Enjoy two HDTVs and WiFi. Prepare a meal in the fully-equipped kitchen with granite. The vaulted ceilings with wood beams provide the perfect setting for taking in the spectacular views from virtually anywhere in the home.
All this for a very affordable rate.
2nd time staying and enjoy the clean, functional home. The east facing view has the mutli layer view with many birds including wild turkey. Also like how it is centrally located to the parkway, Linville Gorge, ski resorts and Boone NC, plus the owners are nice and accommodating. I recommend it!
Stayed at the Roundhouse for a three nights for a quick getaway with our two teenage daughters. House was perfect for us and we had a great time. The bedrooms are comfortable, nice kitchen / dining area and the deck gives you awesome views of the mountains! The kitchen was well stocked with cooking items/appliances (toaster, blender, coffee pot, etc.) and loved being able to open up windows in August to let some cooler breezes come in. Owner is very responsive to messages/phone calls and very accommodating - would definitely recommend this place for a nice summer vacation spot!
This is our 3rd or 4th time vacationing here and everything is always great!
From start to finish our experience was first rate. Owner is kind and very responsive. The house is super clean, comfortable and updated with everything you need except any groceries you plan to stock! Plenty of utensils, towels, extra pillows/blankets, TP, etc. The owners thought of everything. There is even a cute pet feeding station by the door. AND THAT VIEW!!!! Absolutely stunning. We spent most of our time on the deck because we couldn't tear ourselves away from the long-range mountain views. We were sad to leave after only 2 nights but will definitely be back!
My wife and I spent 2 nights at the roundhouse and thoroughly enjoyed it. The mountain view and the fresh cool air was wonderful. We will most likely visit again!
We enjoyed our stay at the round house. It is not far from all the many attractions. You can't beat the views! Ready to come back!
We had a wonderful time .....and to have THAT view thrown in for free.....well! Gorgeous!
The house had everything we wanted or needed. Having 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms was perfect. The sliding doors on the balcony let in lots of cool air and we didn't miss having AC at all. The kitchen was large enough for two of us to be in it at the same time prepping meals and we all fit around the dining table instead of having to eat in shifts! The outside light was not working and Marc has promised to fix it. The home was clean and well stocked. We cooked our own food, so I can't give an opinion on local restaurants....but as far as entertainment, if you get a chance to go to the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games next year - do it!
It's a very twisty road leading up to the house, but once you have driven it, you realize it isn't as scary as you thought at first :) We rarely saw any of the neighbors and it was a very quiet residential area. Plenty of room to park and only close to numerous towns to investigate if you get the time.
Centrally located between Blowing Rock and Banner Elk, the home offers quick and easy access to all the attractions and activities of the High Country. You can make the three-hundred yard walk to Hawksnest Snow tubing and Zipline or the short drive to Ski Beech, Appalachian Ski Mountain, and Sugar Mountain. The Blue Ridge Parkway is only a few miles away. Enjoy golfing, hiking, rafting, fishing, biking, or rock climbing in the summer, skiing, tubing, sledding, and ice skating in the winter, or fine dining, wineries, art galleries, and the theater year round. For the kids there is Tweetsie Railroad, gem mining and other activities, including two trout-stocked ponds in Seven Devils. The house sits on a quiet dead-end street, so there is never any traffic or much noise.
