Composer and restauranteur who love travel, cooking, and fine wine.

Rowena Ajero purchased this house in 2010

Why Rowena Ajero chose Los Angeles County

Being in the music industry requires one of us to be in Los Angeles frequently. We love the weather in Los Angeles and wanted to be a part of the revival of new Hollywood.

What makes this house unique

the weather.. the views.. experiencing serenity in the 'treehouse' but also knowing that the hustle and bustle of Hollywood was a short walk away... did I mention the weather and the views???

wonderful place to stay

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here for three weeks and enjoyed every minute of it. We were a bit concerned because we are in our 70's and there are stairs to be climbed above the elevator. But it was worth it - and I kept telling myself how good for me the exercise was.

The apartment is beautiful, the bed comfortable, the shower pressure great, the views extraordinary and Rowena/Doug (the managers) responsive. The location is convenient to everywhere (and we really tried to do everything - from Pasadena to Santa Monica and beyond). While Griffith Observatory is impressive, morning coffee on the patio is more so.

When looking at the apartment's pictures, I was concerned about the living room seating. It really didn't look all that comfortable. I was wrong. We have rented many other rentals and the living room sofas are usually sleeper beds. I usually find these uncomfortable for tv watching or reading. These chairs were much much better.

I highly recommend this apartment. It has everything: spectacular views, a garage, a washing machine/dryer, a comfortable bed and the best location. It is extremely private and safe. This is a true gem.

Great Location, Great View

  • 5 of 5

Had a great trip to California and one of our highlights was our stay at the Hightower Hideaway. The view from the balcony is sublime. The location is great for exploring Hollywood, Beverly Hills, the studios in Burbank etc...Felt very safe. Great breezes through the windows kept us very cool at night. Slept our family of four (children 10 and 13) very handily. Kitchen well stocked (really appreciated the real wine glasses). Made our own meals and used the BBQ to make steak one night turned out fantastic with the bottle of Pinot on the deck. Would love to come back again.

Yes, you want this one!

  • 5 of 5

My family of 2 aduts and 2 young teens had a great time staying at the Hightower Hideaway. The location was perfect to get around that part of LA. The space was clean and modern just as the photos depict with 2 private patios. I will also mention that there is a table on the bigger patio that seats four. It is not seen in the photos and that was great to have for dinners with a gorgeous view. The bed in the main bedroom was very comfortable. Our kids shared the pull out couch in the office room and said it was a good bed too. The neighborhood and surrounding units are quiet and peaceful and it's on a dead end street. Great location if you want to go to the Hollywood Bowl too. The views are beyond great, day and night. That elevator tower was a blast, a really fun and special way to access the unit. We used the parking space and were very happy to have it. We had a Lincoln MKC, small SUV/hatchback style car, and it fit, but something bigger would be tough. We will try to stay there again for sure if we come back to LA and want to be in that part of town. We have used VRBO style websites many times and usually have good to great experiences, once again we scored, this one was A+.

Sublime apartment

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay. All the online information was accurate. We were met by Douglas who welcomed us with warmth and helpful guidance, even suggesting a sushi restaurant that we loved.

The views and outdoor space are exceptional. The garage, though small is adequate and great to have available.

Our 8 and 10 year old children considered our stay here (as did we) one of the highlights of our two week trip to California. Oh, our deposit was returned before we even got home.

Sad to Leave!

  • 5 of 5

We had such a wonderful stay at the Hightower apartment. It is a truly unique property. Douglas met us upon arrival and was very friendly and helpful and we found the apartment to be very well maintained and clean. The views from the balcony are absolutely incredible. It was so relaxing to sit out on the balcony at night under the stars and look out at the sweeping views of LA. The apartment is also very centrally located and it is also a very easy to walk to the Hollywood Bowl from the unit. We had a fantastic time and were sad to leave. We sincerely hope to return very soon!

Fantastic Home with Gorgeous Views!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I rented the Hightower Hideaway for six nights. It was the perfect place for us with plenty of room. The outside decks are great, the unit had everything we needed and the surroundings are beautiful. The Hollywood Bowl is within walking distance and the hills provided a challenging run/walk for exercise. The history of the house, the elevator and garage parking are a few perks that made our stay wonderful. We would stay here again in a heartbeat and we highly recommend! Douglas was so easy to work with and met us at the house to show us around. This home is a 10++++. Thank you for everything!
