Our secluded home has an exceptional south facing, sunny, location right on the lake edge, not set back in the trees as many lake side homes are. You really feel as though you're on the pond even when indoors. Crystal Pond is an amazing spot with nature all around you, hidden coves to explore in the pedalo, turtles and beavers to look out for and fantastic swimming in warm clear water. We love watching the sunsets, listening to the call of the loons or the lapping water on the shore, which are the only sounds you’ll hear in this peaceful setting.
Our home has many windows and is light, airy and all the rooms have a view of the lake. It was completely rebuilt in 2009 and the interior is finished to a high standard with modern equipment and furnishings.
Come and enjoy this beautiful and tranquil location with your family and friends.
Please be aware that changeover day is saturday.

Great hidden jewel!
This was a fantastic place to stay. Rugged yet perfect inside. Had everything we needed!
Excellent Stay at Cabin on Crystal Lake
My family had an excellent stay with our time at the cabin on the pristine Crystal Lake in Washington, Maine. The weather was wonderful and the cabin is well kept. I vacation in Maine every summer and I would book this cabin again if it is available during the week of my vacation in 2018.
We had a wonderful stay and truly enjoyed the property. The lake really is crystal clear.
There is a lot of space in the house. We spent time at the house, and did several day trips for lunch. We enjoyed eating breakfast on the porch, and ate our dinners at the dining room table. Sitting out on the deck was also pleasant, and of course dangling one's feet from the dock into the lake, watching and listening to all of the wildlife and simply relaxing was what a vacation should be. The stars at nighttime were incredible. We used the paddle boat and the water toys, too when we went swimming in the lake. The outdoor clothes line was put to use as well. The upstairs shower is wonderful. This was my first trip to Maine, and I would not hesitate to stay here again if I return (which I would like to do). It was a very nice vacation.
It was great! Relaxing.
Our family got some much needed peace and quiet. The owner answered our questions promptly and the description was accurate.
First experience of Maine - awesome, we hope to come back!!
Coming from the heat and humidity of eastern North Carolina, the Maine experience was quite a difference! The house is very modern, located on a very cool little lake (full of largemouth bass), has super-friendly neighbors, and includes most every amenity a family needs on a week-long vacation. The house is clean, uncluttered, open and sunny (when the sun was out), providing a warm, positive, cheery feel. There are several challenging hiking trails within 30 minutes drive with countless breath-taking views and ripe huckleberries (wild blueberries)! Acadia National Park is less than 2hrs drive, so we did a day-trip there - unbelievable views and even a sand beach. Camden and Rockland are quaint (but crowded) little coastal villages with shopping and good restaurants - we had to eat some lobster of course. True to the name, the lake has crystal clear water with a pair of loons, kingfishers, two families of mallards, eastern kingbirds (with a nest right by the dock), a pair of beavers on the far side, turtles, a mammalian critter of some sort (otter, muskrat??) that ate our bass off the stringer (don't leave them hanging off the dock overnight - go ahead and clean the fish), and lots of frogs. Toss in a couple of chipmunks by the house and there's plenty of wildlife to keep you entertained. We're seriously considering coming back next year, but will plan to fly this time. It was two full days of hard driving....about 18 hours total. You don't have to pack as much clothes as you may think, there is a washer and dryer, but do bring some cool/wet weather clothing. We had one day that was rainy and didn't get over 54 degrees - in mid July. Crazy stuff! Finally, do have some bug spray handy - there are black-flies, deer-flies, and ticks when you are "out and about," and the occasional big black ant in the house.
Nice setting, nice house--but not a screened-in porch.
We had a nice time at the house, which is quite lovely. However, the porch is not screened except for three panels on the side. The five lakeside panels are all blurry plexiglass, which meant no breezes and impaired views of the pond. This might be OK on a chilly day, but not in the August heat. It rendered the porch useless. Also check on your cell service's compatibility with the area; unless you have certain services you will not be able to communicate directly by phone in case of emergency.
Thank you for drawing my attention to the polycarbonate panels on the south side of the porch, I had not noticed that they had degraded to the point of being blurry as I had been working abroad for a year prior to this. I shall make a point of changing them this spring.
The east and west walls are screened and in most conditions give a suitable amount of ventilation and cooling and the polycarbonate panels lets you avoid the wind that often blows off the lake and any rain that also tends to come from that direction.
The period that you were there was an unusual heatwave, water levels in lakes throughout Maine were very low due to lack of rain and the unusual heat. Anybody that has lived in Maine during the summer will know that there is usually about seven days a year on average when the heat gets oppressive and the rest of the season is pleasant and can be quite cool at night.
It was unfortunate that it was so warm for your stay, but Maine is also quite capable of serving up rain and fog....
I hope this gives a good explanation as to why the panels are there and I shall endeavour to keep my word and change the panels for nice clear ones so the view can be enjoyed in an unobstructed manner.
With regards to cellular coverage, I can only vouch for US Cellular and Verizon working, as they are the two providers that I have experience with. Most of Maine is still CDMA not GSM and companies like AT&T and Sprint do not have retail stores in the midcoast Maine area, which I believe is because their coverage in the area is minimal despite their coverage map claims. I am not an expert on this but I believe what I am saying is fairly accurate.
On the first floor is the kitchen, bathroom, living room / dining room and queen bedroom both with patio doors straight out onto deck and the amazing view. Upstairs there is a twin room, another queen and a full bathroom, all with views over the lake. The house sleeps 6 people in 3 bedrooms and there is also a sofa bed in the living room The lake is very shallow outside the house and is suitable for children to swim from the lake side or adults to swim from the dock. We suggest bringing your own kayaks or using the pedalo supplied with the house. The house has a private dock in front of it with space for an 18-20 ft boat and there is a nearby boat ramp for launching. Alternatively try out your fishing skills from the pedalo or the dock. Despite the quiet location, the house is well situated for visiting the coastal towns of Camden, Rockland and Belfast which are only 30-40 minutes drive. There are many options for entertainment from shopping, art galleries, day sailing on a traditional Maine schooner, puffin watching, hiking in Camden Hills State Park, day trips to the islands, historic houses, lighthouses, golf courses and museums. Come and visit some real Maine summer fairs: Maine Lobster Festival (Rockland) 31 Jul-4 Aug, Maine Boats Homes & Harbours Show (Rockland), 9-11 Aug, Union Fair (Union) 17-24 Aug, Common Ground Fair (Unity) 20-22 Sept. Once you're exhausted from sightseeing you know you have a welcome and relaxing home to return to.
