Our secluded home has an exceptional south facing, sunny, location right on the lake edge, not set back in the trees as many lake side homes are. You really feel as though you're on the pond even when indoors. Crystal Pond is an amazing spot with nature all around you, hidden coves to explore in the pedalo, turtles and beavers to look out for and fantastic swimming in warm clear water. We love watching the sunsets, listening to the call of the loons or the lapping water on the shore, which are the only sounds you’ll hear in this peaceful setting.
Our home has many windows and is light, airy and all the rooms have a view of the lake. It was completely rebuilt in 2009 and the interior is finished to a high standard with modern equipment and furnishings.
Come and enjoy this beautiful and tranquil location with your family and friends.
Please be aware that changeover day is saturday.
A week to remember for the tranquility, beauty, no email and not to mention the fishing. Lake House was comfortable, clean and had everything we needed for a perfect vacation. The puffin excursion from Port Clyde was amazing and the lobster pot was put to good use with the lobsters we bought. The other towns we visited were quaint and interesting.
Thank you so much for a wonderful week. Now back home with memories to last a long time.
We had a nice time at the house, which is quite lovely. However, the porch is not screened except for three panels on the side. The five lakeside panels are all blurry plexiglass, which meant no breezes and impaired views of the pond. This might be OK on a chilly day, but not in the August heat. It rendered the porch useless. Also check on your cell service's compatibility with the area; unless you have certain services you will not be able to communicate directly by phone in case of emergency.
Our adult family of four enjoyed our stay very much. It was relaxing and peaceful. We found the house and location as advertised. The house was clean, warm and cozy with plenty of space for each of us to find a our own nook. The central location allowed us to visit many places from Freeport to Belfast in an hour or less. With two cars, each of us could do what we wanted and go where we wished. A wonderful house and great water view. We left recharged and revitalized.
We were impressed with the thought and detail that went into each room. It was a pleasure to find that it was everything Peter said it was.
My grandson Alex enjoyed "ponding" in the pedal boat.
The lake was beautiful and serene. It's only about a half hour drive to surrounding cities and tourists attractions.
We enjoyed the duck family in the lake outside our door every morning along with the loons and a surprise spotting of a beaver swimming.
Great place to relax, recharge, and reconnect!
The house was perfect, the setting was serene and gorgeous, everything you would want for a Lake vacation. The house is private, clean, well stocked with everything needed and great layout for a family. All the bedrooms face the lake and there are two loons that swim around all day to peek at from the screened in porch. We loved the dock, the paddle boat and location. We spent a day at the Union Fair and the rest of the time just enjoying the lake. It was like someone painted me a slice of paradise.
My family and I had a great time at the lake house. It was just as it was described on the website. Peter, the man who rents the house was great and answered any questions I had quickly. If your looking for a great getaway in the middle of the woods with kids this is a great place. Thanks a lot Peter
When we arrived at the lake-house we were so happy to spend a whole week in this beautiful house in this great surrounding. The house is equipped with everything you need and to feel comfortable. We loved the view over the lake, adults and kids enjoyed several swims a day and in the evenings we listened to the loons and watched the meteor-showers. We hope to come back soon!
On the first floor is the kitchen, bathroom, living room / dining room and queen bedroom both with patio doors straight out onto deck and the amazing view. Upstairs there is a twin room, another queen and a full bathroom, all with views over the lake. The house sleeps 6 people in 3 bedrooms and there is also a sofa bed in the living room
The lake is very shallow outside the house and is suitable for children to swim from the lake side or adults to swim from the dock. We suggest bringing your own kayaks or using the pedalo supplied with the house. The house has a private dock in front of it with space for an 18-20 ft boat and there is a nearby boat ramp for launching. Alternatively try out your fishing skills from the pedalo or the dock.
Despite the quiet location, the house is well situated for visiting the coastal towns of Camden, Rockland and Belfast which are only 30-40 minutes drive. There are many options for entertainment from shopping, art galleries, day sailing on a traditional Maine schooner, puffin watching, hiking in Camden Hills State Park, day trips to the islands, historic houses, lighthouses, golf courses and museums. Come and visit some real Maine summer fairs: Maine Lobster Festival (Rockland) 31 Jul-4 Aug, Maine Boats Homes & Harbours Show (Rockland), 9-11 Aug, Union Fair (Union) 17-24 Aug, Common Ground Fair (Unity) 20-22 Sept.
Once you're exhausted from sightseeing you know you have a welcome and relaxing home to return to.
