Guestbook comments from the manager

Dear Anthony,

On behalf of my family I would like to thank you for our amazing week at your beautiful home. My 22 year-old son said as we walked through the house when we arrived, “Mom and dad, you ‘booking nailed it’”. It is just an amazing home and we repeatedly talked about coming back in the future. We had fairly crummy weather for the week but it didn’t really make a difference. We visited family, did lots of Maine-type stuff (Two Lights, LL Bean, Rafting, Hiking) and enjoyed just hanging out at the house. Two different nights we played “Capture the Flag” outside in the pitch dark. When is the last time you saw 8 adults (ages 22-53) running through the woods and crawling around on the ground to win a game? The ping-pong table revived old rivalries and my 12 year-old learned that she could survive without TV for a week. She said she didn’t even miss it. With a room for everyone and space to spread out, we weren’t on top of each other and therefore didn’t get in each other’s space. What great gathering spaces you’ve created with the amply sized dining area, sun room, and great room. It was so wonderful to just “be” together.

Thank you for sharing your home with us. We will definitely be back. It won’t be for a couple of years, but do you ever have the week between Christmas and New Year’s open?

Thanks for providing a venue for great family time and rejuvenation.

Sincerely,

Jody Petersen

Big Bear Big Fun!

  • 5 of 5

This is the second time I've stayed at one the owners homes, and both times were incredible! Every little detail is perfect. The pictures don't do it justice, what an amazing space to hang out with family and relax.

Thanks again!

WONDERFUL LONG WEEKEND

  • 5 of 5

What a beautiful home! Our Christmas gift to our grown children and 4 granddaughters is always a long weekend away together - to create memories for all. Our pick was this beautiful log home and our stay was March 1-5. When we drove in the driveway and saw all the Christmas lights still up - we were ecstatic. How perfect! The Christmas porch lights, candle lights in the windows, Christmas tree, lights along the loft area, the mantle - it was perfect.

The bedrooms were comfortable and ample room for all of us.

One of our favorite places was the dining table off the kitchen for games at night after the girls went to bed. Perfect for the adults. The game room is unbelievable. Pinball machines, air hockey, pacman and then a TV room off of that. We also had a few dart tourneys. There was more than enough to keep us busy. It was a very cold weekend and limited to what we could do. It was minus 10 or more wind chill. We had planned to go tubing and/or skiing, but instead took a ride to Conway, NH to the Ham Arena and did public skating. An easy ride and plenty of places to stop on the way for window shopping and eats. It was fun. I would recommend this for families in a heartbeat. It is a beautiful home and Anthony is very nice.

Thanks for sharing your home with all of us, Anthony!

We couldnt have picked a better place!

  • 5 of 5

Big Bear Cabin was everything we imagined it would be and more. We visiting during February 2017. The cabin was warm and cozy in a secluded location with lots of privacy. Beautiful kitchen with a awesome master bedroom. The only one add I wouldmake would be an additional bathroom, but other than that this home is perfect foran amazing summer or winter vacation home. Beautifully kept, maintained and the location was perfect.

Thank you again for sharing your home.

Amazing Experience!

  • 5 of 5

There were 62 total reviews of Big Bear Cabin before ours, and all 62 reviews gave it five stars. It was hard to believe that a homeaway rental could have such unanimous approval, but our group's three-day stay at Big Bear revealed that the ratings are the real deal. Like other reviewers have mentioned, the pictures do not do the cabin justice. From the the amazing level of detail and attention that went into the design and craftsmanship of the cabin itself, to the selection of furniture and decor, to the owners' preparation of the guest experience, Big Bear Cabin sets the standard in homeaway rentals.

The supplies are well-prepared, the equipment functions perfectly, and the house is labelled with instructions and guidance throughout. The beautiful two-story great room was a great place to relax by a fire, but our favorite part of the cabin was probably the fully-finished lower-level game room with vintage arcades, ping pong, air hockey, foosball, darts, and a 108" projector screen with connected media center that allowed our group to witness the New England Patriots win the best Super Bowl in history in style. We highly recommend Big Bear to anyone thinking of visiting the area!
