Best kept secret
A fabulous retreat, beautiful grounds, fabulous views. Just perfect! Highly recommend for couples and those who want to relax and reset. I was very impressed!
Great place to chill, listen to quiet, birds and planes. Look for wombats. Visit pretty towns and eat great food.
Great location, amazing host and beautiful property.the views are amazing.Positive and negative side is the nearest town is 30 mins drive. So if you are heading back to the retreat, carry dinner with you and if you want to start late in a day, please carry some breakfast or be ready to drive 30 mins just for that.
Dear Ritesh, Thank you for your post and may I also add a special thank you leaving your cabin so clean and tidy on departure. I Agree, our seclusion can be both positive and negative. POSITIVE : You have an elevated location with sensational views, free of traffic and noise, fresh mountain air, beautiful birds and wildlife visiting plus access to 23 acres of bush and gardens at your backdoor. Also a kitchen and access to BBQ for your meals if you wish to stay in for meals. Negative: Due to our secluded mountain location, the nearest towns are Woodend, Gisborne and Romsey and all are approximately a 40 minute round trip. Of course I never feel that way about our property but I understand completely that travel time to nearest town may concern some. I hope you will visit again regardless. All the best. Suzanne
We had a beautiful, relaxing stay. Took the opportunity to take a walk up to the lake, soaked in the spa, feed the birds and put the feet up by the fire. Great long weekend.
Beautiful and Relaxing
We came for just two nights but wished we could have stayed for more. Wombat lodge was just beautiful. With amazing views and luxurious amenities I would not hesitate to recommend this place. It's nice and secluded but only a 15 minute drive in any direction to picturesque Macedon Ranges towns. We'll definitely be back!
Nice and cosy!
We enjoyed our stay at Cherokee Retreat. We stayed mid-week and were upgraded to the Eagle's Nest cabin for free. The cabin was very nice and cosy, and the hosts were friendly. It was our wedding anniversary, and the hosts left a card and chocolates on arrival. The views are gorgeous, and the property is secluded and quiet. Wood heater was all ready to go on arrival.
Historic Hanging Rock is 10 minutes from property.
