We had an amazing time! It was so relaxing and peaceful. The owners were very helpful answering questions. We would definitely recommend this cabin!!!
The long winding drive led to a cozy cabin with a beautiful view. Dan and Sheyla were wonderful to work with.
The cabin was perfect for my husband and I and our adult daughter. The weather was beautiful all week, but the temperature was cooler and my daughter was grateful for the electric fireplace that she snuggled by every morning and evening.
The kitchen had everything we needed including the cooking spray that I had forgotten to bring.
We spent part of one day exploring our own little mountain.I looked forward to seeing the sun pop over the mountains every morning. We did try the hot tub once, but with the cooler temps, I didn't feel it was warm enough to enjoy a good soak.
The cabin is peaceful and secluded, but centrally located to find plenty of things to do for the adventurous. We ate breakfast there every morning, then ventured everyday both to the north and south, enjoying waterfalls and hikes to some beautiful views(I recommend hiking to the top of Wesser Bald and climbing the fire tower and there is a nice waterfall nearby on Old River Road)
There is a nice little restaurant at the Nantahala Outdoor Center that we would also recommend..
Staying at this cabin was an awesome experience. The views were amazing and the cabin itself was excellent. We really enjoyed the fall colors that surrounded us in the cabin. The owners, Dan and Sheyla provided kind and wonderful customer service and I am grateful for their little cabin and allowing us to bring our Labrador. When we first arrived the road up to the cabin made us a little uneasy, but as soon as we got to the top and saw the cabin and the amazing mountain views we quickly forgot about it, and after being there a week, we got used to it quickly. We spent most of our time outside enjoying the views and the sounds of nature. This cabin is perfect for those looking for peace, relaxation and seclusion, which is exactly what we wanted! Our 6 year old son and Labrador loved running outside around the property and exploring, while my husband and I sipped on wine, grilled outside and enjoyed the beautiful views. I brought a hammock and hung it near the fire-pit, (facing the mountain views) and it was wonderful laying there and enjoying the tranquility and views, while smelling the wood burning from the fire-pit (wood provided), it was pure bliss. The weather was wonderful and the fall colors amazing so we spent most of our time outside, walking around the property and collecting differently colored fall leaves. The inside of the cabin is beautifully decorated and very comfortable, we had a couple of cooler nights and enjoyed using the wood stove. Another thing that sets this cabin apart is how well stocked the cabin is, it literally had everything you would have in your own home...lots of pots and pans, bowls, dishes, aluminum foil, zip-lock bags, paper plates, grilling utensils, charcoal and even some pantry staples! There was also Wi-Fi and satellite cable with plenty of channels. We did venture out to Asheville and Clingmans Dome, which were only about an 1 hr and a 1/2 away. We also went on a train ride on the GSMR in Bryson city about 1/2 hr away. Nearby we also visited the Wayah Bald lookout tower, Lakes End Marina (15 min from the cabin, first night we got food to go from their nice little restaurant) on Lake Nantahala, and watched the rafters go by in the Nantahala Gorge. There are lots of look out points and great places for photos on the roads near the cabin, as well as hiking trails nearby (including the Bartram trail with access near the Duke Energy plant). Overall, this was the best cabin we have ever stayed in!
The cabin was perfect for us for a whole month! The owners, Dan and Sheyla, were always checking and answering questions about the area. Just bring groceries, personal things. The cabin is superbly equipped, and has a hot tube, outside bonfire area, fully equipped kitchen, TV, land line phone, etc, etc. Quiet, no noises except the forest sounds. Wonderful view. We recommend it without hesitation. Phil and Jean
We rented this Cabin for my 60th birthday. Wow, what a find. The place is great in every way.
Hot tub on the deck. This place has everything that you need to enjoy yourself, just bring your food. Washer and dryer in the bathroom. Lots of linens, cookware, and dishes. Fire pit and bbq grill- just bring charcoal. Steep gravel and dirt driveway, adds to the character of this place. The views are Amazing. The Cabin sits on top of the hill, all by yourself. Very quiet. Large front porch with a swing, table, and 2 rocking chairs.Trout streams all around.
Where to begin....My daughter, mother, father & I just returned from a week long stay at this gorgeous cabin. The cabin is so cute with everything you need. The rockers & swing on the front porch with the mountain views where the perfect place to begin and end each day! The fire pit area was perfect with lots of seating and plenty of fire wood. The cabin is so well equipped with anything and everything that the only thing you need are groceries! Dan and Sheyla were wonderful to deal with.....from the first contact inquiring about the cabin to calling them during our trip with questions they were a joy to work with. You are all alone once you reach the cabin which was nice to just sit back relax and enjoy the peace and beauty of the mountains! The driveway is your typical mountain driveway, gravel, winding and somewhat steep...take it slow and it's all good. If you get a chance while you are here take Winding Stairs Road all the way to Highway 19 - it's a gravel road that winds down the mountain - but the views are amazing!! The way up to the cabin (Wayah Rd) has gorgeous river views with lots of pull offs to enjoy the river and lots of photo opportunities.
Would definitely rent this cabin again if I am in the area!!
I cannot say enough wonderful things about this little slice of heaven!!
