Jolly Mon is located on a 2.5 acre estate lot on North Shore Dr. (Old Banks Road) in North Palmetto Point. This magical place is only 10 minutes south of Governor's Harbour and 25 minutes south of GHB airport and 45 minutes north of RKS airport. You are centrally located on this 110 mile long island which makes exploring very convenient. You will enjoy some of the best beaches in the Caribbean and be able to take your pick between watching a sunrise or a sunset!
There are many wonderful restaurants on the island and are provided in our guest book. If you like to cook in a gourmet kitchen, you can buy fresh fish every day at the harbour dock.
Come check out Jolly Mon, a truly magical custom built home. You will appreciate the versatility of the design, the quality of the construction, and the beautiful endless views of the Atlantic Ocean. This is truly a special vacation destination that you will want to return to year after year.
Scott and Jane have thought of everything. The house is certainly designed with vacation renters in mind. We discovered a few beaches but found that the one right behind Jolly Mon is the most beautiful and enjoyable! You will not be disappointed if you rent this property. Make sure you visit Pasacal's Pool Bar and Tippy's, both are amazing.
A group of 5 of us stayed for a week, and loved every minute. The house is beautiful, and perfectly set up for multiple couples. The pictures really don't do it justice. The views are breathtaking. The beach truly was practically deserted, and our host was phenomenal. All correspondence was timely, the onsite manager was very responsive (the main water does get shut off sometimes - which we were warned about - but as soon as we called, he came out to turn on the cistern).
A welcome package was supplied before we left home that had all the information we would need. I would highly recommend bringing a cooler of meat, cheese, frozen veggies and any particular spices you might want. The local store has most of the essentials, but if you catch them a couple of days before the weekly boat comes in, the choices may be slim. You will also need to rent a car to explore, and recommendations on who to go through are provided, as well.
The island itself is blessedly free from overcrowding (at least when we went in September) and a lot of tourist traps. .
We will be going back!!
Oh my... How to even describe our time in the Jolly Mon... This place is truly paradise. The home is gorgeous and allows for so many different ways to relax and enjoy it! Whether you want to hang in the hammock, lay out on the beach, chill on the porch or in the house, this home accommodates it all! My husband and I went here for our honeymoon and enjoyed the most relaxing and enjoyable vacation I've ever been on! During our 8 days in the Jolly Mon we saw a total of 5 people on the beach!
The water was crystal clear, although a little rough for snorkeling during our stay. We journeyed out to a few different beaches and enjoyed snorkeling more on the caribbean side. Everyone there was friendly and we found all we needed at the little grocery stores.
The owners were extremely sweet and sent us so much valuable information for our stay. The house keeper was also just the sweetest woman ever!
My husband and I plan a trip back one day for a baby moon. <3
If you're on the fence on whether or not to book, I hope this helps you off that fence! This place is truly incredible!
As for the island, I would consider it a bit of an adventure. The roads are rough, especially when driving back to the beaches. We found that the little car we rented wasn't quite the vehicle to drive back to the beaches, so I do suggest finding a 4x4 or something a little higher off the ground than the small car we got. The water was the clearest I've ever snorkeled in on the caribbean side.
The grocery store isn't what we're use to in the US, but for the most part we just got makings for sandwiches to be easy. :)
Hope this helps future vacationers! We cannot wait to get back to paradise! <3
Our original plans were disrupted by Hurricane Matthew, but the owners rescheduled with us with no issue. The pictures of this house do not do it justice; it is simply fantastic. The yard/beach are so great that it's really unnecessary to go anywhere else. The house is fully stocked with everything you'd need for cooking, entertainment, and outdoor activities. Arguably the best house on the island!!
My wife and I had the great pleasure of staying at Jolly Mon after a change in vacation plans. The owners were exceptional in their communication from the first contact. They sent easy to follow directions that made finding the house a snap. The property, house and wonderful people that keep Jolly Mon going were exceptional. The house has a definite wow factor; with stunning architecture and tasteful decor, you'll be hard pressed to find a better place to stay on Eleuthera. Gorgeous kitchen that had everything we needed for cooking (and cleaning!). The bathrooms were stunning, loved the ocean reef view from the bath. Steps away, the Jolly Mon beach was one of our favorites on the island, with great snorkeling and house-provided water toys (everything from snorkel gear to kayaks and SUPs). Thank you again for a restful, amazing stay that far surpassed our already high expectations! See you again :)
This was the third time our family stayed in Jolly Mon and once again the beach villa and the island of Eleuthera just keeps getting better and better. From the moment we walked into Jolly Mon we felt like we were coming home to our own personal resort. The owners Scott and Jane are amazing hosts and the home continues to get better and better each time we visit. We spent 13 days this trip and we could have stayed even longer. Eleuthera is an island where you can just get away from everything, unplug and enjoy beautiful beaches in their most natural settings. We finally made it to Lighthouse Beach this trip and it was the highlight of our entire adventure. This wasn't our first visit and it won't be our last visit. Eleuthera has become very dear to us and we will continue to visit this island and stay in our favorite home - JOLLY MON!
