bliss in a blink
Tanglewood is a fresh, well resourced, comfortable place to stay. The weather can be treacherous outside - and a Halls Gap visit demands that you share the environs - but Tanglewood is a haven for rest, warmth and relaxation outside those times.
Hi Ian, Beautifully put about Halls Gap weather, but as you say that is the beauty of the place. Please come back & stay again sometime. Kind Regards Bruce
Lovely, comfortable place to stay.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Tanglewood Grampians. The recent renovations were beautiful, and the house was spotless. Plenty of wood for the cosy log fire, and everyone enjoyed the spa! Within 5 mins of arriving we were greeted by a balcony full of super friendly Crimson Rosella's and cockatoos, that even sat on us. The kids were thrilled! Thanks for a great stay.
Hi Sally, Thank you so much for your kind words, I hope you will come back & stay with us again. Kind Regards Bruce
Amazing location, amazing facilities !! Really happy that I choose this place for our night stay, bonfire and party !! cheers
Thanks Siddharth, you are welcome back anytime. Kind Regards Bruce
We really enjoyed our stay in Tanglewood cottage. I will definitely recommend it.
Hi Tam, Thank you so much for your kind words, I hope you come & stay again. Kind Regards Bruce
We stayed two nights at Tanglewood and the house is simple but was comfortable and everything we wanted for our weekend at Halls Gap. Bruce the owner had excellent communication pre and post our stay. Would stay again!
Hi Anna, Thank you so much for your kind words, you are welcome back anytime. We are trying to improve the house all the time so people will enjoy the beautiful Grampians. Kind Regards Bruce
Very dirty and dated
We were very disappointed in the cleanliness, there were cob webs hanging everywhere & dust throughout the house. On arrival we needed to clean inside the fridge as well as change the light bulb in the kitchen since it didn't work.
The window seals where covered in dead flies, dust and bugs.
The house was dim and dark and was missing a light bulb in the bathroom as well as the laundry.
We discovered the first cockroach on the couch which we then moved to find a half eaten ice cream cone, later we discovered another under the fridge which my husband needed to move to sweep under as well as clean up an entire cooked sausage. We estimated that over our entire week we killed up to 40 cockroaches.
The carpet was stained and dirty and the bedrooms had a musty smell.
Other issues were there were no oven mitts for the oven or BBQ tongs for the BBQ.
The internal of the rubbish bin was putrid and looked as though someone had thrown a plastic bag on top to cover the mess.
There was only enough firewood for 1 1/2 nights for our seven night stay, I did contact the owner which informed me more would be delivered the next day which was then delivered 2 days later.
One of the bedroom doors didn't close so when watching TV it was too loud for my son to sleep.
Basically the house was filthy, we really did tired to make the most of our stay but I was really happy to come home to a clean house.
Hi Jessica, I am very sorry that the property wasn't up to your standard. I'm not making excuses but there have been some quite extraordinary circumstances of late that contributed to this situation. Basically the house has been booked for 3 months straight, we have been trying to bomb the cockroaches but obviously cannot do that while there is guests, it is being done this week along with numerous other cleaning items. There has been unseasonal rain & weather conditions of late which has meant getting firewood has been incredibly difficult, it has also meant that there has been very little sunlight contributing to the musty smell of the house. With all the bookings it has been very difficult for the cleaners to do any extra cleaning other than the basics, again it is all being done this week. Light globes have been blowing & have been continually replaced, again it will be attended to this week. Again my apologies, but sometimes houses in the mountains during near flood conditions are hard to maintain but we do our best. Kind Regards Bruce
