Town house set in the heart of Le Bugue with stunning views overlooking the River Vezere.

Built into the rock and set on three floors, this centrally situated, typically French, sandstone house comprises of three bedrooms, large bathroom (bath and shower), lounge and kitchen diner.

Recently refurbished, this property is an ideal base for those wishing to explore the historical sites of the Dordogne valley. There is a terrace to the front of the property overlooking the river with a patio table and chairs. Should you wish to sample the delights of the local cuisine then there are many restaurants and cafes in the village, all within less than a five minute walk. On the first floor is a bedroom with a double bed, lounge and bathroom, on the second floor is another bedroom with a double bed and leading from this is a further bedroom with two single beds. This property is ideal for two couples.

The French Countryside

Our family of 5 adults enjoyed our 2 week stay in this clean comfortable home in Le Bugue. Visited the great markets in the surrounding area, ventured to Bordeaux, St Emilion (great wines) Bergerac, Sarlat and other villages. Also Beynac medieval castle; Gouffre de Proumeyssac. Bar-b-qued on the patio, sipping wine and visiting with the neighbours, enjoyed breakfast in the clean, spacious kitchen. Easy walk around town. Recommend La Pergola Restaurant (awesome duck confit). Chai Monique for lunch.

Would stay here again without hesitation.

A great base to explore the Dordogne region

Living in the house for a week shopping at the local town market and living across from the river in a typical multi storied, blue shuttered home, made the stay authentic.

Centrally located but a bit more effort required

This is a centrally located house within easy walking distance of the town centre.

Unfortunately there was no Wi Fi available at the property which required a daily visit to the local internet cafe.

Additionally, the TV did not work at all, probably because the TV had not been converted to HD transmission, effective 1 April.

With reference to your comment regarding wifi, the house was never advertised as having wifi and we have always found as you will see from our excellent reviews that our clients prefer to be out enjoying the beautiful sights of the dordogne rather than watching television or having 24hr internet access however I will certainly take your comments on board for the future. Great location

Having visited the area before we wanted some where in Le Bugue as a base. We could not have found a better place, the house its self is really nice and has just about every thing your going to need as well as being lovely and clean. Location was fantastic with views of the river and town, perfect.

Booking the house with Jackie was trouble free and every thing went really smoothly.

I would say if your looking for a house in the centre of town with easy access to everything the area has to offer then this is the place for you.

Great base for exploring le Perigord

Our family of four adults found Maison de Cingle the perfect base for exploring the many and varied attractions in this area. The house was spacious, comfortable and well-equipped, as well as spotlessly clean. A collection of books and games for all ages added to the homely feeling. Although parking was not always available directly outside the house, there was ample free parking just down the road.

The small market town of Le Bugue is a pleasant two minute walk from the house, and offered all the services we needed during our week's stay in May. Market days are Tuesday, and Saturday. Try the paella!

The owner answered all our queries promptly and her advice on the area was very helpful. There are lots of pamphlets and maps in the house to help you plan your stay.

We wished we could have stayed longer - so much to see and do!

A piece of provincial French living made easy!

Maison de Cingle was a great base to explore the Dordogne including Sarlat-la-Caneda especially on market day, and Beynac-et-Cazenac. This region is so rich in wine and gourmet specialties with excellent nearby restaurants within walking distance of the house.

The property description was accurate and met our expectations and we were extremely satisfied with the location and facilities with nice extra touches. We found a charming village house that was clean, well-maintained, and was fully equipped with everything we needed for our time in Le Bugue. Sitting on the terrace overlooking the river was the usual spot for afternoon drinks and having a chat with the friendly lady next door. She was so nice and didn't mind our efforts at murdering their beautiful language.

Jackie was very helpful before we arrived and provided wonderful suggestions of places to visit as well as plenty of leaflets to go through for planning our trips. The communication while we were travelling was appreciated.

The four of us highly recommend this property and we are planning a return visit. It was great value for money for two couples.

My one tip; Head into nearby Salat, visit the converted church which now functions as a quality food market, and know, a gourmet Heaven waits on the other side of those massive doors.

With stunning views of the River Vezere and set in the heart of Le Bugue this property is Ideally situated for exploring the many delights of the Dordogne.

The Dordogne is renowned for its historical value and the magical medieval town of Sarlat is only a short drive away. This town is steeped in history and with its Michelin starred restaurants and street entertainers this makes for a perfect holiday experience.

Other places of interest include Rocamadour, Les Eyzies and Beynac. Not forgetting the many famous chateauxs and castles in the area.

A 5 min drive away is the river beach at Limeuil, where the River Vezere and the River Dordogne meet. You can hire a canoe and spend the day drifting down the river, stopping to have a picnic on the banks and taking in the magnificent scenery and wild life. Or why not walk to the top of the hill at Limeuil and enjoy the breath taking views across the river.

A twice weekly market in Le Bugue and a night market in Audrix in the summer.
