Lovely place, cannot fault the house in any way.

Hi Helen

I am just dropping you a message to thank you for the beautiful house we rented for three nights. It was situated in a lovely area, very handy for the wedding we attended. We could not fault the house in anyway, it was spotlessly clean and tidy and had all the facilities anyone could ask for. A lovely place to stay for a short weekend break. We will be back in Australia in a couple of years and hope to have a wee break there again. As they say in Scotland, I wish you slanj-uh va (pronounced slangs avar means good health). Many thanks.

Quaint and Cosy Cottage

We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay. Ideal location for lunch or dinner at Margan, as it is walking distance.

not really suitable for 4 adults over a hot xmas

  • 2 of 5

Whilst the interior, bedding/accessories were good, several aspects of this small cottage resulted in an at times very uncomfortable stay over several very hot days and nights. The air conditioning proved totally inefficient , only really functioning in one part of the living area and unfortunately not reaching the bedrooms. The water pump system was noisy, slow to refill and very close to two of the bedrooms thus effecting sleeping/resting. The back main patio door faced direct sun and lacked either shade or screens thus needed to remain closed. This prevented any chance of cross breezes cooling the house in the evenings. Disappointing but may be more enjoyable in cooler months with smaller number.

Had everything there that we needed for the weekend, was good having the fireplace with plenty of wood on a cold weekend.

Great place, great time!

  • 5 of 5

We were a group of 4 people wanting to spend a relaxed week-end in the Hunter without necessarily staying in overpriced hotels. We were not disappointed with this little gem which is right across Margan Wines & Restaurant (please give the restaurant degustation menu a look - it is delicious and a 3min walk from the property which is good given the quality of the wines!), a few other wineries and only a short drive from the main Hunter wineries. The place was fresh, clean and had more than enough rooms and beds to accommodate us all, all the appliances were there for us to not have to step out of the house (coffee lovers there is a proper barista machine)! It is set in a lovely and quiet fields - kangaroos can be seen early morning and perfect for a friend or family stay. Give this one a go, you won't be disappointed (oh, and there is satellite too!)
