About David Walens

My wife and I have been long time residents of Atlanta both moving to Atlanta in 1977.

David Walens purchased this house in 1987

Why David Walens chose Atlanta

This property has been in our family since 1987. We have rennovated the property and want to share this historical house.

What makes this house unique

The house is in Historic Grant Park in downtown Atlanta across the street from Zoo Atlanta. The house is a bungalow and was built in 1908. It has been renovated but keeps the charm of period with 9' ceilings, 3 original fireplaces and an active wood burning stove. The front porch is extends across the front of the house while the back yard is fenced with a stone patio and fire pit for relaxing evenings.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Historic 648 is a fantastic house. Our 10 people live in this house for 3 days and 2 nights. We have a good time in it. Everything in the house are tidy and very good. The long history of the house also brings some fantastic feeling. If we come to Atlanta again, we will still choose Historic 648.

Great experience

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed the stay while attending woodworking show at GWCC. Beds were comfortable, we felt at home as we live in an old house also! Neighborhood was quiet. Great new Kroger store a few blocks away.

Great base for visiting Atlanta

  • 5 of 5

The house was very charming, and well equipped. The cooling coped very well with a series of days in the mid-nineties, making for comfortable nights. The Neighborhood nice and quiet with a very a very relaxed vibe. Easy driving access to the main Atlanta sights.

Great house in a great neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

The house was perfect for our stay. It had plenty of space for the 6 of us and the neighborhood was great. The owner was very accommodating and quick to respond to all of our emails. I would definitely stay there again!

Roomy, comfortable house in a convenient location

  • 4 of 5

We had a very nice stay. The house was well equipped and had plenty of room for the four of us. It was close to downtown, but also in a quiet historic neighborhood close to Grant Park. It was nice to be able to walk to delicious neighborhood restaurants. Having the ability to park in the back as well as on the street was very helpful. We enjoyed the front porch and being able to sit out there for several meals.

Adorable House;Great Location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for a long weekend Girl's Trip. The house is super cute! Sheets and towels sooo soft. We did accidentally set the alarm off on check in day, but it ended up being fine. Loved the fire pit in the backyard! 2 bathrooms were great for all of us trying to get ready at the same time. I would, however, recommend a thicker, lined curtain for the window in the rear bathroom. We were sitting at the firepit and could see all of the business of the person using the toilet. Also, it rained on our last day and the front steps were crazy slick with wet mildew.

Owner's Response: So glad you had a great time and enjoyed the house. Be sure we will take your advice and change our the curtain in the bathroom. We didn't realize the situation. Always trying to make the house the best we can. Thanks for your review and feedback.
