We stayed as a couple initially wanting to use the Cottage as a comfortable base to explore the area. But instead we found ourselves quickly gathering some supplies and spending as much time as we could soaking up the quietness and beauty of our surrounds. There was much to do, we made fresh orange juice, collected fresh eggs from the chicken coop, we snoozed on the hammocks, did our best to communicate with the beautiful bulls, strolled through the olive trees, cooked with fresh herbs, did our best to trek up the mountain nearby and keep warm and cosy with the fireplace at night. The supplies for breakfast were scrumptious and the goodies in our basket were perfect for a little picnic. The room itself was perfect. Our hosts were so lovely and made sure that everything was okay. We'll be back for sure and we can't wait to share this little gem with loved ones!

Beautiful spot, enjoyed by adults and kids

  • 5 of 5

We loved our short stay. The property is close enough to visit the vineyards in the Mt View area and really well equipped for children. Lots of games and puzzles in the rooms. A big swing outside, chicken to visit and find eggs, oranges to pick.

The view down over the valley is so idyllic.

Would love to come back in the warmer months!

The rooms are stylish but not too polished which makes everyone with small kids relax instantly..they also have super cosy fireplaces.

The are is so far from traffic or anything else hazardous to small children that we really felt we could relax and let our 3 year old explore to his heart's content.

All the best places are at the end of dirt tracks.

I can't say enough nice things about our stay at Lonely Goat. From the minute we arrived we instantly felt ourselves relax. The views are just stunning and the owners have really taken the time to think through all the little things that make a stay extra special. If you enjoy spending your evenings in front of a roaring outdoor fire, looking at the stars with a glass of red in your hand - you seriously can't go wrong! I'm reluctant to spread the word about Lonely Goat as I want to keep the secret to myself!

Incredible stay, exceeded our expectations!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Lonley Goat Olives for a weekend break with my family who were visiting from the UK. From the moment we arrived we realised we were in for something totally unforgettable. The location is beyond stunning - set high on a mountainside, silent at night, with views of the clearest stars we've ever seen. It is surrounded by beautifully kept grounds - olive and lemon trees, wild kangaroos, highland cattle and stunning forest walks. Every detail has been thoughtfully taken care of from the neatly chopped firewood to the locally sourced breakfast items that were all included. It was cold at this time of year, but the fires in both rooms were excellent and added to the fun! This place is a real labour of love, the owners have gone above and beyond to make every aspect feel special. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone.

'farm stay' for families who enjoy luxuries

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful location on the hill. Very comfortable bedding. Well equipped kitchen. The owners were lovely, making every effort to make our stay enjoyable. Children fed the bulls, saw kangaroos, toasted marshmallows in fire pit, collected eggs from chickens, picked fresh herbs and fruit (even a juicer so my children could make fresh juice). Will definitely return.

A great place to relax and recharge

  • 5 of 5

Not sure I can do justice to how great my stay here was! By the time I was booked to stay, I was pretty well mentally exhausted and probably close to breaking. Staying here worked a treat!! Great hosts, fantastic views, excellent peace and quiet. Had everything I needed to relax. Generous breakfast provisions, loved that maple bacon! Easy access to so many places in the local area but also plenty on site if you're feeling lazy.

Thanks to both of you for creating such a lovely place and sharing it as well. I'll definitely be back again, I just won't wait til I'm so exhausted next time!
