Cabin is my haven when I need some ME time and to get some rest. My work is in Florida but my heart is in the North Georgia Mountains. It occurred to me that others may need the same get away that I do, so I lease the cabin when I am not using it. Once you visit I know you will fall in love with it as I have...Robert
Most unique is its location. Surrounding me is pasture, lots of trees and a creek meanders down one side. In front is a small pond where you can try your hand at fishing. There is a large gray crane 'we call Henry' that hangs around pond looking for frogs. Past guest have seen deer and turkey milling around for food. In late afternoon you can enjoy a roaring fire in the pit next to the pond and try your hand at making Smores.. When you are ready to explore, a short walk down the road will bring you to a large creek and forest service property marked with red paint. Take all the time you wish to explore and even do a little gold panning in creek.
Our family stayed at the cabin while attending a wedding at Frogtown Cellars. It was five minutes from the winery and easy to find. The home was very clean and so peaceful. My son loved catching fish in the pond and we loved how private the property is. Thank you for sharing your adorable cabin with us!
We visited Dahlonega for a college graduation, and this was the best part of the trip! The cabin was so charming and cozy. My mom and grandmother had never rented a house before and they were ecstatic with the whole arrangement. It was just far enough away from the town to escape, but close enough to make 3 or 4 trips a day without being a hassle! And the countryside made it perfect!
We stayed here with our one year-old baby and found the cabin offered everything we needed. The beds were comfortable and the proximity to the creek was nice for our early mornings. It's super quiet here - nice for baby's naps! And the front porch- it doesn't get better than that. We were in town for a wedding weekend, with events at both Montaluce Winery and Wolf Mountain Vineyards. This cabin was fairly close to both, while offering more of a retreat than the downtown hotels would have. I'd recommend this cabin!
The was a very charming cottage, the grounds were gorgeous and the pond was filled with fish, drive to downtown was much further then we had hoped, however the house was filled with all the basic needs, I would rent here again
We had a wonderful time! The cabin has everything you need. Quiet, peaceful surroundings, just gorgeous! Great sounds of fresh mountain water creeks right outside! Great access outside from master bedroom. It's just what we needed. Only complaint, we didn't stay long enough. Lynn is a pleasure and very helpful. Thank you Irene and Lynn for wonderful memories.
What a great cabin! I did not want to leave and will definitely be back. The pond was so sweet - we fed the fish with the fish food on the front porch. The babbling brook was beautiful and soothing. Even though it lightly rained practically the entire time we were there, it was wonderful. The Cabin is easy to find, on a good road, located close to Dahlonega, Cleveland, WINERIES! and plenty to do. But the cabin is adorable with plenty of amenities if you want to do "nothing". The wireless internet connection was great, and the TV/Satellite provided good entertainment. Rocking chairs on the front porch overlooking the pond, rocking chairs on the master bedroom deck overlooking a big pasture and mountains, or a glider next to the stream are just a few relaxing spots for a cup of coffee and/or a good book. And it had great water pressure and hot water - gotta love a good shower/bath. At first I didn't like that there was a cabin that I could see from "our cabin", but we didn't see anyone around the entire weekend. There was not a dishwasher - but it was not a problem. The restaurants (and stores) in Dahlonega were wonderful. Some of my favorites - Shenanigan's (great Bangers and Mash), Corkscrew Cafe, and Bourbon Street Grill. The cabin was not too big and not too small - just right. We were dropping off our son for a program at UNC and stayed the weekend. We brought another couple and has a mini vacation. The main level bedroom is very spacious and a great big tub/shower. The second bedroom is an upstairs loft bedroom that is not totally private, but the was it was arranged it was fine. The listing and photos are accurate. The cabin was well stocked and clean (even had some bandaids). Before we reserved (and after), our questions were quickly answered. The decor was perfect -I kept saying "it is so cute!" I want a cute little cabin like this of my own. Thanks for a great time!
