About the property

Situated in the heart of Bendigo, just around the corner from the Market Place Shopping Centre, this period home is the perfect place to stay whether one night on business or for the next family holiday. Just 2 minutes walk to the Railway Station and 5 minutes to Bendigo's CBD.

Featuring 3 bedrooms, 2 of which have Queen Beds and one (children in mind) with a Double/Single Bunk. Porta Cot available on request for infants.

Polished floor boards throughout other than 2 bedrooms which are carpeted, modernised kitchen with dining table seating for 6 and high chair available upon request. Appointed with all crockery, cutlery and cooking essentials including kettle and toaster, microwave and modern chrome look fridge. Dishwasher and Blanco electric oven and Chef gas cooktop. Marble look bench tops and timber cupboards.

Relax in the lounge room on a comfy chocolate, waffle chaise and watch the flames from the Coonara Gas Log fire or your favorite movie on the LED screen TV.

For your comfort during warmer weather just turn on the ducted, evaporative cooling system.

All the comforts of home with a spacious bathroom, containing a shower, vanity, toilet and bath tub. For your convenience there is a European laundry offering a Front loader washing machine and dryer. Also an iron/ironing board for your use.

Great for families with young children

Featured in the backyard is a terrific play area, with sandpit, loft and slide.. There is also a paved area under a large, shady tree and a wonderful synthetic grass area for hours of fun. Adults can relax on the large back decking while watching the kids enjoying themselves, all in a fully enclosed, private yard.

Cook on the BBQ, have a cold drink or wine then enjoy your meal in the fresh air on warmer nights with outdoor seating for 6.

This property, unlike so many central houses, has private off-street parking. With a driveway (room for 2 vehicles)and secured front yard from the high picket fence.

Hence the property name 'BLANC PALISSADE' French words meaning 'White Picket Fence'.

Just walking distance to most of Bendigo's Central Business/Shopping District, this is such a wonderful, convenient temporary address.

Whether your stay is for work or pleasure, you will be delighted that access to shopping, restaurants, entertainment, leisure activities, public transport and tourist information is all within 2 - 15 minutes walk from the home.

It's the trifecta!

We have stayed here previously and we look forward to staying again. The house is roomy and a home away from home.

Definitely could tuck the car in behind the gate and walk to everything we needed.

A great little find that has the added slide & sandpit to keep the kids entertained outside that bit longer.

POOR Management Let Down Whole Experience

After feeling this property perfectly accommodated for my mother, sister, her children and myself, we were in love with the location and appropriateness for children. UNFORTUNATELY, after our amazing nights stay, we were then experienced some UNPROFESSIONAL management from the owner who decided to not refund the full bond. This was due to the owner believing that the property was left in a 'very untidy state’ and that we checked out of the property late. We were unable to be out of the property at exactly 10am, as the cleaner (the property owner’s aunty) arrived just before the agreed time, she decided to go for a walk, even though we offered for her to begin the cleaning process while we collected our final things.

As for the comment of the property was left in a 'very untidy state’, this is utter nonsense, as there was nothing left unkept and we even put the towels in the washing machine for the cleaner, to help with the time it took her to clean.

As much as we loved staying there, I would NOT recommend for others to stay, as the property owner was petty and unreasonable, as can be seen by the way in which the replies are addressed in past reviews.

Owner's Response: I've learnt a lot about people managing my holiday cottage for the past 6 years ; some are really sweet until they don't get their own way !! My cleaner waited until 10:40 to be precise. At short notice the traveller asked for a late checkout but I couldn't allow it this particular morning as my cleaner had another urgent matter to attend !!! Upon entering the property my cleaner was surprised to see three females and two children on a one night stay could leave a house so selfishly untidy ! No rubbish removed .. breakfast dishes left ... rubbish over floor .. stained towels ... I could go on ! So I decided to take $50 from $100 bond to cover my cleaners lost time and the extra time in cleaning up !! This girl threatened me personally with writing this and effecting my business ! I find this bullying behaviour ! I run a successful accomodation business in a great location !

Great location cosy cottage!

We picked a great weekend to stay at this property. The weather was perfect! We were able to park our car in the driveway and walk everywhere. The location was fantastic, right near the Shopping Centre. We walked everywhere and didnt use the car once.

Main concern was that the linen was not fresh. Its always nice when you stay away to jump into a bed with nice crisp fresh linen.

You may need to get a plumber out to look at your toilet as the cistern just ran all the time. This didnt bother us too much as the bedrooms are not located too close to the toilet, but may save you money on water.

Perhaps also put more then 2 teabags for people to enjoy a cuppa upon arrival as we had booked for 3 people and not all of us could have one when we arrived. Also a cheese board and knife would of been handy too.

Brochures are very out of date but handy to have the local paper to read.

Great backyard to sit back and enjoy a glass of wine or sunbake on the deck.

A fantastic little cottage that felt very homely. We will be back as the house still made an impression on us. Thankyou for having us.

Owner's Response: Just to note ... Our linen is always fresh ... It's 1000 thread count and heavily than regular sheets ! After 5 years of great feedback and repeat guests I think this one likes to critique to a fault or try to ... Complementary tea and coffee is limited because people were taking it all I'm not a motel and my rate is very reasonable considering the location of this beautiful cottage ! Must people review the cottage not the beverages available .. And plumbing issues happen time to time ;-)) all fixed! I find it odd that this guest has never contacted me in regards to any of this obviously she would prefers an audience ;

Great location.

This property cannot be faulted. Clean, well appointed and open. The location is great and an easy walk to anything in the CBD. A door opener broke while we were there and the owner was fantastic about it, going out of her way to make us feel at ease. I'll be telling everyone I know about this place. The owner's Aunty, the cleaner, was also most accommodating when we were a little late checking out on the last day. I highly recommend this rental.
