Cascade Village House Rental Photos and Description

3 Bedrooms, 3 full Bathrooms duplex home (Sleeps 7), fireplace, deck, patio

Our light and sunny multi-level, mountain-design home with stunning views is a duplex well-suited for a great vacation with family and friends. Recent upgrades, tastefully decorated and well-appointed, our home provides a unique combination of comfort, location, and peacefulness. The spacious top level living, dining, and kitchen great room is a light-filled gathering space with soaring 12' ceilings filled with natural light from huge greenhouse windows and window-filled walls. The full-sized, well-stocked kitchen with granite and stainless counters, breakfast bar, the oversized rustic pine table seating 8, wood-burning fireplace, generous-sized bedrooms with their own full baths, heated garage, original art, free wi-fi, and full-sized washer dryer, provide all that you need. A sparkling clean, spacious, and private home in a quiet neighborhood -- a mountain home for that special vacation.

Relax in the summer on the private flagstone patio on adirondack chairs surrounded by flowers and aspens; and grill and eat on the newly expanded kitchen deck with upgraded gas BBQ and views across the valley.

For the comfort of all guests, this is a NON-SMOKING & NO-PET home. We invite you to stay in comfort and style and experience the world-class skiing in the winter, and music and dance festivals, sporting events, farmer's markets, and hiking in the summer.

Living/dining/bedroom areas: The oversized rustic pine table in the dining area comfortably seats 8 and doubles as a work space for your computer or games. The 2-seated breakfast bar at the granite counter work as a big workspace and as a hang out for the kitchen. In front of the wood-burning fireplace are leather sofas and chair with pillows, blankets, and lamps for reading, watching tv, playing games, resting, or enjoying family and friends.

Sleeping 7, each of the 3 bedrooms has its own full bath, full-sized closet and dresser. The spacious Master Bedroom has a custom log queen bed, dressing area, and a double vanity in the ensuite bath; the cozy Bunk Room has a double-sized lower bed & single-size upper bunk; and the roomy, second Master Bedroom has a queen bed and ensuite bath (new). A full-sized washer and dryer are available for your use. There is a hi-definition, flat screen tv in each of the two master bedrooms.

The heated garage with a boot drying rack and entry foyer provide ample space for skiis and boots - much appreciated in the the winter.

Location: Conveniently located close to the Cascade resort and its top-rated health club/spa (2-3 minute drive,10-12 minute walk, down the hill), fine dining, town park with playground, the path along Gore Creek into Lionshead and central Vail, in a quiet neighborhood, our home offers privacy in a wonderful location. A free, 3-5 minute shuttle bus ride into Lionshead and central Vail (about a mile away), is available from the Cascade resort. Our guests can enjoy discounted rates at the Aria Club/Spa at the Cascade Resort. With free parking at the house for 2-3 cars, having a car provides the maximum amount of flexibility and accessibility to the valley's amenities.

Vail is a year-round destination for relaxation and fun, best known originally for its world-class skiing. But, as many have found, there’s nothing like summer and fall in the mountains -- sunny, warm days for outdoor activities and cool nights for sleeping. Vail locals say “…winter is why we came – but summer is why we stayed!”

About Owners - Jan and Allen Gerstenberger

Skiing and an active outdoor lifestyle drew us both to the Vail area in the 70‘s where we met, married, and then built the home in the early 80’s. Both our daughters have grown up with 'The Vail House' as their base for learning to ski, board, camp, hike and love life. Some of our favorite family times have been at the Vail House: our base for backpacking, hiking, biking, skiing, snowshoeing; playing games in front of the crackling fire; having Thanksgiving with friends; relaxing on the patio beneath aspens, and savoring the warm days and cool nights of summer. We also enjoy exploring the world through our travels.

Why Owners - Jan and Allen Gerstenberger chose Vail

Only a bit over a mile from Lionshead and Vail Village with the peacefulness of a private neighborhood makes our location ideal. The beauty of the Rocky Mountains, the friendly community of Vail, the extensive cultural events, and the active lifestyle of the residents and guests make this one of the most enjoyable and stimulating settings imaginable. A full service community with a small, personal feeling.

What makes this house unique

Views, vistas, and peacefulness. Our home has a stunning site that borders US Forest Service property on the mountain side of the highway, and expansive window walls bring in the views and light. It is a unique combination of a private mountain setting with easy access to a wide range of resort and community facilities. A home, not just a rental property, which we invite you to enjoy for yourselves.

Perfect Ski Vacation

  • 5 of 5

Clearly it was an excellent decision (on my part, haha!) to choose this property for our skiing trip to Vail this year! Clean, spacious, private, thought through - can't even begin to describe how great this house is. There are four levels in this house, with the living space (kitchen+living room) occupying the top level - allowing plenty of light to enter through the enormous glass walls/windows and providing wonderful views out. The grill is right there outside of kitchen sliding doors. The fireplace is there as well, although we were a bit unlucky with the firewood not being very cooperative - but the place itself provides plenty of comfort and feels very cozy. excellent spot to come back after a long day on the wonderful slopes of Vail.

Everything in the house is clean and ready to use. Every detail is taken care of and the owners thought about everything - when you need anything, it's not "do they have it", it's "is it exactly where i think it would be". And it usually is. The bottle of wine and some bars are a great touch and were greatly appreciated. All in all - a truly terrific place and I will not hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a property to rent in Vail.

Owner's Response: It's always gratifying to hear from our guests that their stay at our Vail House has more than lived up to their expectations. We love getting to know a bit about them through our direct involvement as owners in the rental process and think it has led to mutually satisfying stays. We often get handwritten notes and emails saying thank you from guests, and having them share their experience with others with an on-line review is much appreciated. Jan and Allen, owners

Wonderful House, Great Owners

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for the week from Christmas to New Years this year. Had phenomenal snow and weather.

House is fantastic, great amenities, beds, kitchen, wireless, etc. Wonderful views. Convenient to everything in Vail and just up the hill from the Cascades lift.

The owners are great and checked in to make sure we found everything we needed, and made the stay very nice. Would highly recommend the house!

Amazing Ski Vacation

  • 5 of 5

My family and some friends stayed here for a New Years long weekend. The house is better than the pictures.

The house was about a 2 hour drive from Denver. It is at the end of a cul-de-sac in the mountains just past the Cascade resort. Easy drive to Cascade, Lionshead and Vail as well as shopping in West Vail for groceries.

The house is well stocked with essential tools for a great vacation.

With a group of 5, we were comfortable and not crowded at all. Spent lots of time relaxing in the common room in front of a roaring fire.

The owners were helpful with recommendations and easy to communicate with.

Beautiful Place in the Mountains

  • 5 of 5

The house was wonderful, it easily accommodated our family of 6. We grilled and had family dinners while enjoying the beautiful Aspens surrounding the house. We even had some mule deer come up to the back window. The friendly owners made us feel so welcome into their home. The perfect place for a mountain vacation.

Wonderful stay!

  • 5 of 5

A group of us traveled from different locations in the US and met at this beautiful home and had an absolutely wonderful ski trip. The house has everything a group or family would need to enjoy the mountains. It was perfect for us and we couldn't have been happier. Its even better than the pictures show! The owners were extremely helpful in letting us know what amenities were around the house and available to us. They were prompt with their responses and genuinely wanted our vacation to be a success. I would highly recommend this home to anyone considering a trip out to Vail. I know when we go back we will certain check availability here before looking else where!
