About the property

Forest views, 3 bedrooms, relaxing home-away-from-home accommodation

It's hard to describe the feeling of shedding the "city madness" (that we all too often carry with us), by simply sitting on the elevated deck of the Denmark Holiday House - just listening to the forest breathe and watching the natural outlook.

Welcome to Denmark - Western Australia, and specifically 8km's away up the Mt Shadforth hillside to a rural retreat that we're sure you'll love to visit again and again.

The Denmark Holiday House has the benefit of being a fantastic "Great Southern" central location for local visits and day-trips to the surrounding towns and tourist attractions. It's only a 40 minute drive to visit Albany, or Walpole (the Tree Top Walk is spectacular) or perhaps Mt Barker. Head out for the day, returning to your own home-away-from-home to comfortably prepare for another day.

Denmark also has its many local attractions to keep you busy - if you don't want to drive too far. Within easy reach from your accommodation are wineries, local food produce, beaches, bush walking, river activities, Denmark town & shops, chocolates, kids activities and much much more.

Mobile Phones & Internet

The location of the house precludes most second tier mobile phone carriers from working correctly.

So, Telstra & Optus (other companies are limited or out-of-range) are generally the most consistent with signals.

There is a look-out point (which is Mt Shadforth's high point, with views across Denmark/inlets) within 500+m of the house, which provides full-signal for majority of phones.

NOTE : The hill up to the look-out also ends up being the called "the punisher" for those into exercising on holiday... or whilst on pay-back for delicious treats and over-indulging the day before!

Internet is best achieved by purchasing access to our in-house WiFi signal, which is connected to the NBN system and ensures good signal most of the time (although some storms can reduce quality/speed). For only $30 during your stay, it provides access by WiFi connection for iDevices, phones, laptops, games consoles, etc.

When booking, just mention that you would like Internet access and it will be added to the holiday stay costs.

BBQ with flat plate & grill, multi burner (runs on house-gas, so won't be empty)

Large deck area, with temporary fencing system (if you need to contain small child)

4 pairs of "wellington" rubber boots of various adult sizes.

"Boogy-board" for beach

"Totem-tennis" set, with pole, ball & two small bats.

Outdoor setting, under cover on main deck, with 6 chairs

2 "long-stretch" cane deck chairs (for laying down)

2 undercover carports, with additional parking areas close to house and further away (depending on transport requirements)

Clothes line, undercover (in rear carport, car must be moved to extend clothes line)

Wood box/tub next to house entrance (for easy access) with wood supply.

Wood pile, with wood supply. Also axe, splitter for chopping additional wood (if required)

Rear deck (smaller), with 2 seats & small table (good for morning coffee and watching birds and wildlife)

Various exterior lights with auto-sensors for safety at night.

Rubbish bins. Large for general rubbish, and smaller for sorting recyclables.

Compost bin (in/near garden). Don't be shy, you can put any food material into this bin for the bugs/worms (please close the lid!). Yes, even onion skins, bones, anything!

Beautiful area. Felt very comfortable. Perfect for our 4 day break. Returned home (back to Perth) feeling quite rejuvenated. Our 2 fur babies loved the freedom of a very big backyard. Thank you very much for letting us stay.

Great property in great location

  • 4 of 5

A great property to take kids and dogs. Lots of space and freedom to explore. Stunning views. Kitchen well equipped and easy to prepare meals. Beds comfy and lovely, crisp linen. An abundance of soft, fluffy towels certainly scored extra points too. Would certainly go back and recommend to others.

Absolutely stunning !

  • 5 of 5

We really loved everything about this house ! The notes were so informative and nothing was left out. We have never stayed in a house that was SO well equipped - all the cleaning things, the pantry being semi-stocked, the games, the high chair, the firewood..all things we may have had to buy/bring ourselves but we didn't need to ! The great big fancy toaster ! The towel heating rack ! The list goes on..

The house was so clean, the linen was lovely and it was so nice to have such beautiful big towels. Often in holiday houses there's tiny towels or only one per person so it was a nice bit of luxury to have proper towels and bath mats supplied. Sounds silly bit honestly so many holiday houses lack these things, especially bath mats !

Also the house was just beautifully warm..we were incredibly lucky with the weather but the house was so warm over night - we lit the fire 2 of the nights and had the heater on for 10 minutes one of the mornings, but this was all that was needed to stay warm.

It was so nice to stay in a place that had such a well equipped kitchen too - and so big ! It really made the whole stay so much more enjoyable and relaxing having everything at our finger tips !

It is a beautiful house on an even more incredible property - we were blown away and the photos didn't do it justice ! We loved our stay and will definitely recommend Denmark Holiday House to anyone looking to stay in Denmark !
